My favorite song by them is Overture, at the beginning of the Tommy album. Here it is.

I've already posted my favorite Who song on here, so I'll skip this round.

And Paul was the jerk, not John (Paul's actions were what caused the breakup of the band). In fact if John had been a jerk he might still be alive. His own murderer has pointed out that John was very kind and polite when he had requested an autograph on the day of the murder.

I completely disagree with you, spar. I know that what I said is true, so I will choose not to reply back against that.

Anyways, someone needs to post on this thread because, it is very dead right now.

I never stated that you have to agree. It's tough to argue about that situation as much of the information about the breakup is simply "assumed", since there are very few accounts of the Beatles' personal interactions. Even the "Behind the scenes" looks into the Beatles are openly stated to be inaccurate and based off of one-sided accounts. Paul's account of John controlling the Beatles doesn't match with what Ringo or George has stated on the matter.

I think the primary problem is that John was eccentric (hardly a bad thing in itself) and Paul was getting tired of it. John would occasionally ask out a woman who is married, or already dating and react with understandable confusion upon her reasoning as to why she is refusing (just because you're married it doesn't mean you can't have dinner or go to a movie), while Paul would react to John with something similar to revulsion if he witnessed John doing so. Paul just didn't like the way John did things. Paul was too conventional for the Beatles in my opinion. He wanted fame and money. Just look at the post-Beatles spending: John spent his money to make music promoting peace, and remaining funds went to charity. George released a few albums and spent most of his money sponsoring children's hospitals in India and such. Ringo spent his money to make the TV series "Thomas the Tank Engine" and most of the profits went to charity. Paul spent his money to start the band "Paul McCartney and Wings" to make his wife happy, as well as buying a large mansion and sports cars, sending some money to charities whenever the media questioned why he was buying something so lavish for himself. I mean I can't really fault Paul for wanting material pleasure, as I'd do the same in his shoes, but I openly admit that I'm a greedy asshole, where Paul tries to make that fact less apparent.

In any case it's time for a Weird Al parody. This time I'll use an AMV.

Wait, hold on, Ringo spent some money for Thomas the Tank Engine? He is fucking awesome. A a very young child I loved that show.
