even the most mundane of websites are smothered in Christmas crap

Ugh... The other forum that I post on loves this bullshit. Seriously, just look at it. Are all of those illogical, energy-wasting effects really necessary? I am counting the seconds until January...

Anyway, I am unsure about all Newborns having the prefix "NEWB" in front of their names. There is a possibility that it may become a bit discouraging to new users. Other than that, the new rank system seems quite good.

What is your opinion on gays, spar? I am not gay, but my Uncle Eric is gay, well, I think I have no right to call him gay, and I respect him a lot, so I will say he is homosexual, to tone down the disrespect. But, if you completely despise of gays, don't show it textually, because as you know, my Uncle Eric.

The NEWB- in front of the names of newborns is an abbreviation of "newborn". Duh. It may also prompt the newbs to post more, and remove it from their names.

I hate homosexual people for the same reasons I hate anyone else. They are people. I am opposed to gay marriage, not because of the homosexuality, but rather because I am opposed to marriage in its entirety. I don't give a fuck if they like guys, girls, animals, objects, or whatever else they can be sexually attracted to, that's their problem, not mine. It's when they make it my problem that I start to have issues. If you find someone that you are comfortable enough to spend the rest of your personal existence with, I'd prefer that you spent your personal existence with them, and not with me while complaining that society doesn't offer equal benefits to gay couples. I don't think that spending your life with someone should be treated any different than spending your life without someone, and by that concept nobody ought to benefit from marriage whatsoever. It's not even healthy to spend your life with a single person and prolonged exposure to just one person almost invariably results in some form of dementia.

In regard to your last point Spar, friends exist for a reason. However, you have already clearly explained why you hate people in general.

EDIT: Regarding nationwide celebration of Christmas, this nation was first widely settled by Puritans, and while the tradition changed over time, we're not going to lose it any time soon. That coupled with that fact that over three quarters of the US is Christian must kill you Spar. The wide-spread indoctrination must kill you. But as long as someone has a cause to believe in, no matter how flawed, they will fight for it.

I sortof agree with spar in the sense that marrage shouldn't come with benifits, and that if gays really want to be "married" , they should just suck it up about the benifits that they don't get. On the other hand, some of these benifits are simply being able to see the other person when they're sick, only family would normmaly be able to visit them.

Also, if you hate people so much, why do you go to this forum? We are all people. Don't you want to avoid people at all costs?

"Christian" is kind if a broad category. There are thousands of types of "Christians", all with their own weird little ways that are really quite inconsequential, but they seem to blow out of porportion just because they can't stand each other. So, while 3/4ths of this wonderful country may be "Christian", they're so divided they can't really be counted as one big mass of majority. Also, no more discussion of religion!
