OK so the world gets hit by a huge E.M.P bomb. What do you do? no power-since no electricity- and no refrigerated food obviously so you would have to cook it all of your own. I know that there have been topics like this before, but I figured I would just hear what you guys thought about a scenario like this one.

You have the plot of Revolution and a book series I forgot the name of?

I haven't thought about it myself.

Really. I have never heard of those.

Anyway, answer away people!

An EMP bomb would only temporarily stop electronics from working. As soon as people got their electronics repaired we'd be back in business.

Ah, but then I think Emp's completely breaks analog equipment.
Other than that EMP's are a sort of joke. The Brits call them radio-flash,
which is 20x cooler.

You need a disproportionately large EMP to damage a city. Let alone the
globe.

An EMP is basically the pulse of EM waves from a nuclear bomb. Its effects are more pronounced in the upper atmosphere, where it can be dispersed farther. Bombs that only release EM waves, like the ones in the Matrix, do not currently exist (unless you count graphite bombs, which while they do disable electronics are not actually EMPs as they don't release EM waves) so the only way to knock out the world's electronics with an EMP is to basically saturate the upper atmosphere with thermonuclear explosions. In that case, the radiation would be a much larger problem than the EMP, since you can hardly worry about your nonfunctioning smartphone if your skin is burned off or your DNA has been irrevocably damaged pretty much ensuring you will die of cancer at some point in the future.
