Well, here we go. You are a team of dirt-poor adventurers who have been recruited by the guide ball of light, Archon Nedben, to work as an adventuring team. The city you are in is under attack. The standard fantasy setting. Enemy raid troops pour out from ships attacking the harbor, the city will not last long. You all gather your meager few possessions and flee for the edges of the city. I lead you to the northern forests. We are at the fringe.

We're all a team of adventurers. You may design a few characters, but registered users have seniority over guests, because guests can no longer post here. You all control the entire party except me, so being certain characters will get you being sent forward into the dungeon depths to check if traps are active. I'm unkillable (how do you kill a respawning ball of light?) And other players will be resurrected at a convenient opportunity if killed. While your character is dead, your ghost can follow us around but unable to influence the physical world other than party control. If your body is thoroughly annihilated, I'll just make you one of my sub-archons until your new body is ready.

Take actions, and I'll describe the results. But first, what characters will we have?

Design your player characters!

Stats vital:
Name
Appearance
Skills
Equipment (remember, you're so poor you got to accepting a job from a ball of light)
Personality/back story
Be generic or specific as you like.

Here's a sample.
Nedben
Mostly yellowish-white sometimes rainbow ball of light. An archon.
GMPC, capable of telepathy and empathy, shoots concentrated lasers, etc. For what you'd expect. Seems to have a lot of other friends from somewhere.
It's an archon. He has a hyperspace bay domain for holding stuff. Hired you people for help.
He's a freaking archon who decided to go help some random people off the streets. No explanation necessary for why an angel light ball is hiring you to go do something.Maybe it's because his girlfriend goddessling was in the mood to film and there was a bunch of people in need...

Rick
Human, but with vaguely avian features. Strikingly obvious black wings.
Flying, fixing/designing/making things
Crossbow
A mutated human, with which the mutation was a huge success, Rick broke free by flying over the razor wire fence. He has hidden for upwards of a year, and searches have finally seized. Never able to get a job, as the mutation left him lacking people skills. Knows a girl with the same mutation, only white wings. Same age too. Rather pretty... Knows a friend with the same mutation. Refuses to give his name though...

DWD
A tall robed figure cloaked in shadow.
Proficient in enchanting and, an unknown form of magic.
Dark robes possibly armored and, other unknown items.
He is secretive and, manipulating.

Rockboy, I can work you in at the last section before the rails expire for real. You'll just have to be a presence until then. But, you still get to control the entire party's actions like everyone else.

Excellent...

The party, which is me, the mysterious robed figured DWD, a few avianpeople including Rick, the warrior Avior (ironic how he isn't an avian person when his name is Avior. Maybe they didn't pick him for experimental mutating, possibly saving him for later experiments.) and a spirit user of a robot-pirate, Rockboy, are all going towards the forest. I wonder WHAT he's doing this far out. Apparently the War Room has decided to let the AI controlling the entity created as a companion AI to the one at the village fly out. But, they're not supposed to know all that yet. We enter through a small gap in the wall of trees that opened up just for us as a path through the magic barrier walls. Apparently spelllinking is quite effective. I'm not sure which of those two did it, maybe Tanya or possibly Elas. Probably Elas, Tanya's too serious. The path is narrow, and it's not safe to go up or around judging by the blatant aura that is currently focused on Rockboy. DWD seems a little perturbed by the strong magic auras eminating from the town and the War Room not far beyond. The avian people's wings ruffle slightly from their resting position in the light winds that seem to be coming from nowhere. The path is closing behind us, the trees moving to reform the thick barrier. A few trees along the way generously sprout bioluminescent flowers in their lower branches, illuminating the dark path. The raider goblin party I suspected was following us appeared on the horizon just as the trees closed. Might want to go faster, the lightning blasts tend to have some shockwave.

We reach the village shortly. The sun is in the sky, and the village and surrounding guild estates look untouched by the war's far-reaching damage. A banner showing the city crest of three angels (Me, that goddessling who's watching from above, and the angel Damien Starwill, ancestor of the city's leader Lord Daniel Starwill.) protecting the ancient city from an even more ancient invading army of demons, on a pleasant aquamarine background, flutters in the slight wind, marking the street direction post. To the northeast is the War Room Rock, several long miles of hiking to the northwest the various large guild estate community safehouses, none of which these people belong to, and finally to the southwest the town of Eastansfief itself.

What do you want to do? Remember, you can control the entire party's decisions but I decide what happens.

I don't know about everyone else but, I'm going to attempt to join a crafting guild by showing off my enchanting skills.

The crafters' guild has people who are so good at assembly they can make a large block of wood into an extremely detailed and anatomically and physically accurate rendition of you in a minute from having seen you up close for a short conversation of saying hi. This is why you weren't in one before. I TOLD you this campaign was railroaded so hard the only way to make it more railroady is to sort of pay attention to your feedback while I write a story using your characters.

The guilds are also a day's worth of hiking away. The road isn't done yet.

The demon army was obliterated by me, mah archon's girlfriend, and this other angel guy.
