Of course it has meaning, you are an Admin. You said it yourself, you're opinion, regardless of the rest of the forum, overulles all others.

Do you find this disagreeable? I'd like to hear your opinion, because other people's opinions actually do affect my own actions.

I highly doubt that, by the time you locked the Three Word Story, the problem had long since passed.

Thunda, if you cannot post anything constructive, go away.

There is a fundamental difference in the connotations behind using n00b and newb. A newb is just that, a newbie. They are viewed as an inevitable stage in a forum-goers life and their mistakes are simple, forgivable and the older forum members wholly expect that the newb will improve and in doing so become a wholly welcomed member. A n00b on the other hand is not someone new to forums, their mistakes are often purposeful and they make absolutely no effort to improve. They are tolerated for a period in hopes of seeing improvement, but are for the most part hated by all members, including other n00bs, ultimately culminating in their banning. To put it briefly a newb is received positively, while a n00b is received negatively. I am in agreement that having a NEWB prefix is rather demeaning however. We can plainly see the post count, so it really isn't necessary to point out a member's newb status.
