Well since FB might not coming back... I think we should have a plan, if some of us would like to make a fan game.

Most definitely.
Here's my plan:

THERE WILL BE NO EDITING EPISODE TWO IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM!
THERE WILL BE NO COPYING OF CODE FROM EPISODE TWO EITHER!
THERE WILL BE NO EPISODE THREE UNTIL FLASHBACKER RETURNS! (If he does)

That is basically all we need to abide by, unless you guys have a better idea.

( I also suggest that sprites and such should also be re-used. )

While I agree on the basic rule trifecta of "no editing, no copying, no faking", I would like to point out that making minor edits that you keep to yourself is fine and using the weapon and part stats from the code is also fine.

I actually disagree on the no editing. I think that it is ok if we edit the game to our hearts content, as long as we do not distribute said edited version except in the form of jut OUR edits, which others can download and then install to THEIR version of SCC (A.K.A. modding).

No darty, the distribution of altered code isn't something that I can condone as a positive thing. If you want to modify your version than that's fine, but don't distribute it, or any form of it.

Video game modding...
...modding flash games...
...without permission?
I really do not know any more. I honestly think that modding would be a good thing, like maybe flipping the colors of the shellcores would look neat.
But in reality, would we have permission to? What would Flasbacker have wanted?

Most game modders don't actually care about the game creator's opinion. They just mod it regardless. Even the ones that seek approval first don't often adhere to a response of "no". And just because I'm openly denouncing the modification of SCC it doesn't mean that it won't happen anyways.

Me and Robert Joe are planning on completely re-making the game in Java. We won't take any code from SC, we'll just keep the ideas. We will then distribute it.

Just remember that any fake games posted here will be deleted and the poster will be reprimanded, if not outright banned.
