Should we name The City? To make writing about it easier? I been calling it New Lancaster in my head not for any particular reason other than it sounds cool to me. If yes, then a suggestion would be welcome. Maybe make a second poll. Edited by Outfoxd, Jul 18 2011, 11:02 PM.

I think we should name it. "The City" sounds like some kind of cyberpunk dictatorship. I do not have any suggestions at the moment. New Lancaster sounds pretty cool. |

I like the idea of naming The City. But how in love with the name New Lancaster are we? It's a nice name, but it just sounds very New England-ish to me. I expect it to be in like Maine or Massachusettes. |

If I'm honest, I personally think that using the moniker "The City" makes it seem a lot more general and also adds a sense of familiarity in the characters speech patterns (I.e; I'm going back to the city Vs. I'm going back to New Lancaster) However, I'll put my vote down for New Lancaster if we do name it. |

Does the state the City's in have a name? Also, Betsy found this pretty cool link: tis useful for city and neighbourhood names. Edited by General Goose, Jul 19 2011, 10:31 AM.

What type of noir is the goal? Chandler was a big California sort. I agree New Lancaster would sound out of place there. New England would work just as well, though, it it's a more Manhattan feel. |
