This is going to be done with the aid of screen captures to show you all how easy it is to get photobucket pictures on a message board, and also how you can resize them if needed.

If you know any of the steps you can skip what isn't relevant to your needs, but we are taking it right from the top.

First of all, you need to register an account with Photobucket. We're not going to do screen captures for that since it is fairly straightforward and if you can sign up to a message board, it really isn't any different - And to be honest if you are finding signing up difficult this is likely to be a step too much for you at this stage anyway.

First of all, a little about how a picture is "seen" on a computer and what we are looking at to change the sizes etc.

A digital picture (whether from a camera, a scanner or even a mobile phone) is made up of tiny pin pricks of image. These are known as Pixels.

Now, when you have a scanned picture or one from a digital camera, invariably they are far too large for most message boards to handle, and unless you know how to use your imaging software that most scanners/cameras do have you are not going to be able to resize.

This is where Photobucket comes along. So, first of all, you upload your picture and you should get it showing something like the picture below.

Now you've got a screen with something like this showing:

You might need to click on the RESIZE option (as highlighted in red).

Now, depending on how large your image is originally, you get a series of options (the larger the picture, the more options are shown up to the 4 I've got on this picture).

Now you need a size. To be honest, while 640 x 480 (pixels) is okay, it might still be a little on the large size for some boards so the safest option in this instance would be to go for the third option (website Email) - but it entirely up to you! Both sizes are better than most.

You will then get a pop up asking you to confirm you want to resize the picture.

(My pop up box is currently in Halloween mode by the way, hence the graphics).

And from an image that was far too large to post you get if you go for the 640 option:

And so you are ready to post your image on a message board.

Well this is where Photobucket have made it exceptionally easy!

Beneath your pictures you have a series of 4 options. The last one is all you need to worry about.

Just click over the last option and you should get a little message popping up saying COPIED.

Just then come into the reply box on the message board, and paste your link.

To paste, simply right click your mouse with your cursor in location and click on the paste option listed.

You should get something looking like the red underlined section then showing up.

Hit add reply once you've finished and hopefully you've now got a correctly sized image showing up.
