Name: Isabella Maria Galicia
State Name: the Lightning Fox Alchemist
Alias(es): Izzy

Age : 19
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Nationality: Rush Valley, Amestris

Height: 5'4"
Weight: 128
Eye color: Copper
Hair color: Black
Garb: Black pants, yellow tanktop, and black fingerless gloves, but she does wear a coat in bad and cold weather. Her belt is adorned with a few storage boxes and pouches, to allow her easy access to items such as chalk and money.

Pet Breed: Domesticated silver fox
Pet Gender: Male
Pet name: Thor

Personality:
A natural introvert, she does apply herself to being social. She can be a bit brash at times, and have a hard time reading another person's body language, which sometimes leads to trouble. When she tries, she quickly opens up to another person, but always keeps them at an arm's length in order to allow her to think through social situations rationally and logically, rather than instinctively.

When she doesn't watch herself, she tends to speak bluntly and call things as she sees them, instead of working tactically around social pitfalls and avoiding making a faux pas.
Likes: Learning, music, strategy and tactics
Dislikes: Crowds, unfamiliar foods, strangers

Skills:
Alchemy Specialization: Lightning; Isabella has been studying, and is working on a transmutation circle that will allow the user to create artificial energy in the form of lightning, deciding that practical applications will follow the success of the circle.
Dexterous: The result of her troublemaker youth and combat training, Isabella is exceptionally fast and agile. In combat, she relies on her speed and agility in order to get in close and, hopefully, avoid attacks. In everyday affairs, she enjoys climbing walls and buildings, often finding that it reminds her of her youth.
Krav Maga: From her troubled past, Isabella has learned a fighting style that mixes both offense and defense, focusing on disarming your opponent as well as brutal counter-attacks. She employs it both as a means of exercise and a self-defense, when appropriate.

Family:
Father: Hector Galicia, alive, age 48.
Mother: Mary Ellen Saric-Galicia, alive, age 25
Brother: Alistair Galicia, alive, age 22
Brother: James Galicia, alive, age 21

History:
Although born and raised in Rush Valley, Isabella has disappointed her parents time and time again throughout her life. As a young child, she often was caught pulling pranks, alongside with her two older brothers. As a young teenager, she became involved with thieves and thugs. At the age of fourteen she was introduced to the family business in an effort to give her a direction in life. As she became more involved, she acted out less. While it brought a sigh of relief to her parents, who were happy with the prospect of keeping it a family business, they did not realize that Isabella's true interest had mutated from electric wiring to outright alchemy.

Though she initially kept it as a guilty pleasure, it became harder and harder for her to keep the growing mounds of alchemy books hidden from her parents. At the age of sixteen, when her stash was finally found, she admitted to her parents about her interest of becoming an alchemist. Her parents, although disappointed, supported her and, through a loyal customer, got her an apprenticeship under an alchemist in Dublith.

Returning home weeks before turning eighteen, Isabella was welcomed back with open arms from her parents and two brothers. She continued to play a role in the family automail business when not studying or practicing alchemy, even trying to incorporate the two. However, although she wore a happy face, she felt as though something was missing in her life. She wanted to explore the world and learn what it had to offer, but had no money. And although she continued to practice alchemy, the town lacked any materials that would challenge her abilities. But, most importantly, she wanted to work for the greater good of the people, and though she was accomplishing that by helping her family's business, she felt as though she could accomplish more.

Finally, when it had eaten away at her for long enough, she confronted her parents about becoming a state alchemist. At first they refused, hoping it was little more than a phase, one of the many fantasies she has had in the past that would die in a couple weeks. But every day, she persisted, until her parents were tired and worn down from it. With little more then pocket change, scraps, her pet, and the clothes on her back, she left Rush Valley, heading to Central to pursue, and hopefully succeed, her dream.

RP Sample:
"Excuse me, miss?" Isabella snaps back into reality, her eyes refocusing on the transmutation circle she had been studying. Shaking her head slightly, she looks around for a moment before noticing the man standing across from her table. "Would you mind if I sat there, miss?"

Isabella smiles, and shakes her head. "I've always got time for an old friend. Up, Thor." The silver fox wearily pokes his head above the table, looking at the man for a moment before slowly standing and stretching before finally relinquishing the seat to him. "So, how long've you been in Central, Dean?"

Dean smiles. "A few years, actually. Not too long since you went on vacation that one time." He leans forward and chuckles. "An alchemy book? What happened to automail?"

"I had to give that up," she replies, her smile rapidly disappearing. "It's been a few months since I left Rush Valley."

"So you've come to become a State Alchemist, then?" He sighs. "At least at home you can help make people whole again."

Isabella forcefully shuts her book before putting it down, staring across the table with cold eyes. "So, what, you're going to lecture me like my friends from Rush Valley? My brothers? My parents?"

Dean shifts, his discomfort showing. "I just think that there are better things that you could do with your life. If only you would tinker around with automail instead of this nonsense -"

Isabella stands up, forcing her chair to fall back. Thor, startled, bolts up and gives out a scared yip. "I've already had to give up my home to follow this dream. And if I have to give you up as a friend, then so be it, I'll do it. Because when it comes down to it, all that matters is that I am happy with what I do, and not you or anybody else is going to prevent me from succeeding."

As she gathers up her books, Dean sighs. "You gave up your home and family for this... this so-called dream of yours?"

"Yes," she says, not even bothering to glance in his direction. "It's my personal cost of becoming a State Alchemist."

"So, what, this is all the equivalent exchange stuff that you alchemists always talk about? Your home and family is equal to you becoming a State Alchemist?"

"No," Isabella says, slinging her bag over her shoulder. "I knew that I could only have one or the other." Her hand tightens around the bag's sling. "But in the end, I decided to follow my own path. The cost of that was Rush Valley for me. And, from the very beginning, I knew that what I'm willing to give is more than what I'll be receiving."

Dean shrinks back down in his seat, looking away. "Look, Izzy, I -"

"Don't," she says, cutting him off. "Just don't." She stands there for a few more seconds, before she begins to walk off, the silver fox following behind her. "At least I still have you, Thor," she says, giving a small smile to the fox.
