Don't mess with JS

Well, I figured all along there would be some kind of consequences. They started with the heart attack, so I'm expecting there will be more physical problems. Remember the "struggling with his mortality" description from "TV Guide"? My guess is that in "Legacy" Clark just THINKS Jonathan is getting weird messages from The Voice, but they pull the old bait-and-switch and he turns out to have more health problems. The whole "withdrawal from his family" part could be explained by his not knowing how to tell them and being afraid they'd guess. (He can keep secrets from everyone else, but I think he's more transparent with Martha and Clark.) And then his health gets worse in subsequent episodes. And then Clark (I hope) finds a miracle cure and everything is fine! (PLEASE!!) I just hope that they don't have a whole story arc with Jonathan mind-controlled by aliens. Number one, it would be switching horses in midstream to have him start by having health problems and suddenly change to having mental problems. Number two, I can't see any point to it. What's Jor-El so all-fired eager to accomplish that he couldn't just tell Clark about? And number three, it's too reminiscent of something Joss Whedon (the most overrated writer in TV history, in my opinion) would do. I like a character to stay himself or herself, not get possessed by demons or turn part demon or turn higher being or lose a soul or gain a soul. If you have a good character, you should keep him the way he is, period! Okay, end of rant. :-) (I was never a "Buffy" or "Angel" watcher, but I had to watch some episodes for an article I was writing, and I was less than impressed.) |

Hmm, I guess I wasn't very comforting, was I? The idea was to say something that would make it NOT sound so bad. Well, let's put it this way -- I think he'll be sick but NOT die. Clark will find some way to help him survive! |

I know just what you mean. You'd think it would cure us of reading spoilers, wouldn't it? But we only get MORE addicted to them. It's really pathetic!! |

Paint me pathetic :( I just keep telling myself: "They will not get rid of Jonathan. They will not get rid of Jonathan." :guilty: |
