Hey, guys, I just tried to post this picture:

http://www.devotedtosmallville.com/imagega...1/exile_921.jpg . . .

and it won't let me. It says that "dynamic pages" aren't allowed in IMG tags. Does anyone have a clue what that means? 'Cause I sure don't! Help would be much appreciated!

I wouldn't exactly say that Jonath is protective in that pic. I'd say he's probably just confused as to what's going on.

Not in that particular picture, perhaps, but in the scene he is. That's the scene where he agrees to "do anything" to save his son -- a promise that's led to his suffering quite a lot for Clark's sake -- so I've always thought of it as his greatest, most loving, most protective moment.

(I just picked out that particular picture because, as Smallvillian and I have found out, it's very difficult to find a good picture from the crucial portion of the scene, what with all the blazing lights. Darn special effects!)

Hey Renee, try it now, I think it was something in our settings. You should be able to post pics now.:) If not, let me know, and I'll see what else I can do! ;)

Yeah maybe that pic would be protective. Jonathan really told Lex to be careful, lest he find out Clark's secret. Also the previous line about Jonathan in the cave with Jor-el really was protective. My favorite line from that is, "I am his father. I raised him."

Tried to post the picture again -- still no luck. Can I just use the link I provided above as my entry?

Oh, and Smallvillian, are we allowed only one entry apiece? This greedy girl would like more, if permitted. :D

It's DTS. Apperently, they don't allow hot linking, so you'll have to either post the link or put the pic on another sever to post it. (Like Photobucket )

Hope this helps. :)

I signed up for an account at Photobucket, and now I don't know how to add pictures to it. (Sigh) I am such a computer idiot. Would some kind and patient soul be willing to walk me through this? Thank you in advance!

It can be a lil tricky at first. I can try and help ya, but keep in mind, I'm not a very good teacher! :p

First, you have to save the picture you want from DTS to your own computer. (Right click on the pic and click save as.)

Okay, once you log into Photobucket, you have the option to create an album. (You don't have to, but it helps keep things organized if you wanna have pics of stuff othe than Smallville) To create an album, all you have to do is type the name you want for it in the box, for example "Smallville" then click the create button. Repeat for all ablums you wanna create.

You will see it listed below the upload box. To upload pics into that album, click the album name. (If you didn't crete an album, just skip to here.) Click the browse botton and find your pic then click open, then submit. It should load your pic and show you a thumbmail of it and give you the option to move, edit or delete. Below it should show you the url < img > and [ img ] tags.

To post a pic here, copy the last one (the [ img ] ) and paste it into your post.

That should be all you need. If you need anymore help just ask, and I'll try to explain it better. :)

Well, we're definitely going to need a picture from "Covenant." But we're going to have the exact same problem we had with the "Exile" pictures -- only even worse this time. Drat Jor-El and his stupid light shows. I think he just does it to show off.

Suz, thanks for the instructions -- I'm going to try them out soon!

Very good protective scene. I am not sure if we want the scenes to have more of Jonathan in them, but another pic from the same scene/eppy shows more of Lana's face, but Jonathan standing closer and comforting her.

<i>An oldy but a goody! Jonathan is just isn't going to stand by and let someone run over his kid, dang it!</i>

I'm the webmaster of the site the image is from. Please stop hotlinking to my files. The site clearly states it's not allowed.

I've only linked to the one. And I always considered hot linking to be using a pic or page from another site for one's own website as *part* of that site--like creating a page of images and just linking to another person's site to get to them, not just sharing an image on a message board. To me it's no different than providing a link to a site and saying "look what's over there." Perhaps the meaning should be made more clear. I've been on tons of message boards sharing images from other sites is common place. I never thought a thing of it. Sorry if anyone was offened. It was unintentional, but I'd think people would be glad to have their site traveled to. Most people hit the quote feature to get the site address to see where the image came from if they like it. And sorry if I seem a little peeved but proper manners to me would have called for a private message not a pulic reprimand. thank you very much. Good day.

Every time someone loads a page with a hotlinked image on - like this one - it depletes the available bandwidth on the site. If a site goes over its allocation, the webmaster is usually fined.

You are stealing Nepthys' bandwidth by hotlinking these images. I don't know about you, but where I come from theft isn't exactly considered good manners. Good manners would require you not to hotlink, and also to apologise instead of acting like you've done her a favour by stealing her bandwidth.

*sigh*

I already said I misunderstood the term. "No hot linking" doesn't mean squat to someone who's not heard the actual meaning or understand it. I said what I honestly thought it meant. I know the basics of the net but I'm no computer or net whiz, I readily admit. I've been on the net a long time and at every board I've ever seen has the "image" feature readily available and used quite often. And quite honestly, I resent the implication that I'm not telling the truth about that or intentionally did something wrong. It was a misunderstanding pure and simple. The only thing I'm going to apologize for is not being in a better mood at the time of my first response. Actually, I'm in a pissy one now. Guess I should give an apology to be used for the end of *this* post.

::deep breath::

I have not linked to any other of this person's picture--just as was asked, nor have I linked to any others before that single one. Does this person want it removed? I can do that very simply. Good day.
