But green K would be exactly what Clark was anticipating. He'd remember how Jonathan stopped him before. So how could Jonathan have gotten within ten feet of him with it?

Well, he didn't have any trouble getting near him at the end of Exile. Clark walked right up to him if I recall. So, techniclly it could have worked. And once Jonathan would have been close enough to him with it, Clark wouldn't have been able to do anything to stop him.

Yes, the deal gave us this huge dramtic storyline but it just seemed like Jonathan would have taken the simplest solution to the situation. Ya know what I'm saying?

That's true, and a very good point. But still, if Clark had walked up to him and started to feel the effects of green K, he'd have been out of there in a hurry.

Sorry, I really don't mean to be so argumentative! (Maybe my dad was right -- maybe I should have gone to law school!) :D It's just that I can't see how Jonathan had any other choice. He had to be strong enough to subdue Clark; there was no other way to do that.

I'm not really sure I like what "THE DEAL" turned out to be. And I'm pretty darn sure Jonathan didn't either. But my guess is that he may have thought of it as a way to buy some time for Clark. The immediate result was that it would get Clark away from the evil influence of the ring. Then J. would do his best to protect Clark from JE after that, keep the promise a secret from everyone else, and do everything he could to thwart JE and keep from fulfilling that promise. If JE did get Clark back, it would be over Jonathan's dead or at least unconscious body ( :( ), and at least Clark would have his own mind back, with no evil ring controlling him, with which to fight JE's influence.

That's just how I've worked it out in my own mind, anyway.

Oh, your not being argumentative! I was afraid you were thinking the same about me

I kinda see your point. I guess I'm just going by all the times Clark has gotten catpured/beat up by a FOTW or whatever coz he just stood there like BDA when he felt the green k's effects! :p He only walks away from it when it's convenient! ;) Stoopid writers :p Perfect example: in Memoria when he is talking to Dr Garner, and he feels sick when he walks up to that giant tank of green water... why didn't he back up as soon as he felt weak? :p

"Come with me now or your father DIES!"

Wow, did anyone think "Jor-El" sounded like General Zod at that point? Heh, same actor, after all. :D

Hey, welcome aboard! We were all so agitated last night I think we forgot to greet you properly! :) But it's nice to have you.

And Suz, I think you're right about Clark's only walking away when it's convenient! :D I guess they just decided that green K would be extremely INconvenient to have around in this case.
