I got into a discussion at K-site about whether Jonathan ever actually said, "You have to be careful, son." I honestly can't remember his saying it, so I challenged everyone to come up with specific examples, but no one has yet. Can anyone here identify an episode in which he said those exact words, or is it an urban legend? (Actually, in this case I guess I should say a rural legend!)

It rings a bell here too. Didn't he say that in the Pilot when Clark's asking to join the football team? <_<

I'll just go and watch it again.......

So far people have mentioned the pilot, "Hothead," and "Rogue." I've checked the transcripts for all of them, and it's not there. I also Googled it. The only "SV"-related mentions I found were from people on K-site referring to it as something Jonathan is known for saying, but not quoting him directly.

Personally, I think it's one of those lines like "Play it again, Sam," that people always quote but that never really existed in the first place! But I may be wrong. Let me know if any of you do come across it.
