JS mentioned that his wish was to see a confrontation between Lionel and Jonathan about being a father. He got his wish. YAY! What kind of scene/ situation would you like to see Jonathan in that we have yet to see on the show? :)

Well, right now, these are what I REALLY want to see:

1) His first conversation with Martha after he wakes up -- preferably with something in it about how she understands now why he had to do what he did. (I think she will have had time to think it through and realize that there really wasn't anything else he could have done, and that he tried his best to keep JE out of their lives afterwards.)

2) His first conversation with Clark after he wakes up. (I think that can go in pretty much any direction -- except for the absolutely forbidden direction of Clark's not remembering him -- and I'll be happy with it. Most J/C conversations are well written, especially the really dramatic ones.)

Those are the big ones. I'm sure I can think of more, though. To be continued . . .

Good list so far :)

I was thinking about it and you know what I want? I want Clark to do something huge for Jonathan. The man has sacrificed so much for him. His health, his peace of mind-- just so much. And all Clark can do is feel sorry for himself. Blah. What happened with JE doesn't count by a long shot with me. "I'll never be free" was again very self centered. If they wanted Clark to only *appear* to do what he did for other reasons because he didn't want Jonathan to feel guilty, they need to let the audience know that. They didn't.

I think the first time Clark flies should be near the end of the series and it should be to save Jonathan somehow. So far the only time Clark has really saved him has been to stop him from freaks attacking him to get to Clark. What's the big deal about that?? I want to see something *totally* selfless *for* Jonathan. And we all know Clark is afraid to fly. They need to build on that more so that when he does, it's a really big deal. That's what I want. Clark flying for Jonathan.

That would be sweet. :)

Honestly, I don't think Clark is as self-centered as all that. Sometimes he is, but he's also sacrificed for other people too. I know a lot of people think he is, though.

You know what I would like to see Clark do for Jonathan? It's an idea that just came to me out of nowhere not long ago, and maybe it sounds totally hokey. Probably it does. But I was just thinking of Clark getting a school assignment -- or maybe entering a scholarship essay contest -- on the subject of "My Hero," or "The Person I Want to Be," or something like that, and he writes this wonderful, glowing piece about guess who? ;) And he has the best essay and gets to stand up and read it in front of the whole school and community, with his parents right there to hear it. (And doesn't let Jonathan see it or know what it's about beforehand, so he's completely surprised.)

Okay, it's hokey. But I still kind of like it. Maybe I'll do it as a story one day! Of course, if I'm going to do that, I suppose it would have been better not to give away the plot. . . .

That sounds cool :)

I know Clark is selfless sometimes but it just seems like he's been way to "poor me" lately without a thought to what other people have suffered--except Lana. And so she got trampled. She got better. Jonathan had a heart attack. I expected more from Clark. And for all his talk about wanting to save is dad, he never goes to speak to JE until Jonathan is really sick. He knew for a long time, or at least suspected that JE had done something to Jonathan and he sat and did nothing. I want to see the *Jonathan* in Clark and though there are glimpses here and there, Clark isn't 1/12 of the man Jonathan is, that I can see. It's time Clark started growing and maturing.

Oh, go ahead. I just spoiled my (possible) something, didn't I? ;)

Whoa, Smallvillian! Incredible banner! Are all those shots from "Vortex"? I could place a couple of them but not all. I love the saying -- I do agree with you that Jonathan is the real Superman in the family!

Thanks! Yes, all the shots are from Vortex. I always thought that was one the series' greatest moments.

I want to do a nicer banner but that's the best I could do with my partial demo program

Hey, Livvie, where's that story of yours? You're late! Let's get moving, girl! ;)

And Smallvillian, are you working on the "Exodus" one, or did the dark place get too dark to deal with?

As for other things I'd like to see -- Smallvillian, you mentioned that the "two fathers" scene was something John S. had hoped for. He also mentioned something else he'd like to see: Martha being more of a mother figure to Chloe, who's never really had one, and Jonathan having a conversation with Lana where, as a father himself, he tells her that it's not her fault her father left her. He (John, I mean) thought it might be a way they could help the character deal with her raging insecurity. (See, even the actors notice it!) If he's right, I'm all for anything that would help her get over herself! And I'd like to see the Martha-Chloe interaction too. Martha would make a good mother figure for Lana as well -- Lord knows Auntie Nell was pretty flighty, though at least she tried.

Not that I'm advocating lots more Lana time. But this might actually work as a way to help the character develop in a natural and realistic way, which doesn't often happen with her.

Oh, and then one more thing I'd like: John singing! Not ON the show -- that wouldn't make any sense -- but on the soundtrack. It would be incredible if they could find a way to pull that off.

Oh, and I forgot one thing -- more Jonathan and Martha romance. LOTS more!
