From ep. 5:

From K-site -- "Jonathan and Clark have a talk about Jonathan's health. 'The doctor says you're doing well,' Clark says." This sounds good, but DTS adds that the doctor also puts Jonathan on a new prescription and he (Jonathan) seems to feel a bit worried about it. Maybe he's just being a worrywart. (Fingers crossed)

Also from K-site and DTS: Martha is running the Talon! Well, I figured she'd have to have some kind of an outside job again to keep the wolf from the door, with the way things have been going. I just hope she doesn't start to act all Lana-like. I know Annette played the role once, but one Lana is enough for this town!

Well, it's only what everyone else (or almost everyone else) thinks. ;)

Further reflections on these, now that I've had time to think about them for a bit:

The more I consider the J/C conversation, the more backwards it sounds. Hasn't it always been Jonathan who downplayed his own health problems, and Clark who was concerned about him? See "Dichotic," "Velocity," "Resurrection," "Legacy" . . .

And on that note, since they're obviously not dropping the Jonathan's health storyline, I'm starting to wonder just what Clark thinks he's doing spending so much time on football when his mom's had to go to work and leave his dad running the farm alone. If Clark neglects his responsibilities at home and Jonathan gets sick from overwork, I swear I'll reach right through the screen and throttle the BDA till his eyes pop. :fuming:

One other thing: I hear Martha and Lana have a conversation wherein Lana, apparently in advice-giving mode, extols the joy and relief of sharing your fears with someone you love. Let's leave aside (for the moment) the idiocy of European Vacation Barbie giving advice to a woman with a hundred times her life experience and five hundred times her intelligence. I wonder if this could lead to a really good heart-to-heart between Martha and Jonathan? I really hope so. If that's the underlying reason for the M/L conversation, I can definitely live with it.
