What would you most like to see from a "Jonathan scene" in the premiere? :)

Can I just say, first of all, how nice it is to have you back posting again! :hi5:

Jonathan's "waking up" scene is something I've been thinking a lot about. You know that once he remembers everything and understands what happened to Clark (I'm assuming Clark will be back to normal by then), he'll be carrying a boatload of guilt because he couldn't prevent it. What I really want to see is Martha and Clark thanking him for everything he did to try to prevent it, and reassuring him that he's not a failure and doesn't need to feel guilty.

Aww, thanks! :o:

And YES! I want to see Clark above all telling Jonathan what a wonderful father he has been and thanking him for all that he has done instead of falling into the old trap of "Poor me" with Jonathan telling *him* what a great son/person he is and not to feel guilty. That's getting old :shakehead:

I don't think Clark feels guilty all the time. Like when he went off with Jor-el he did that to keep him from killing his father. I would like to see them talk about what happened in the cave that day when Jonathan wakes up. It wouldn't seem right for them to ignore the problem like they do in some episodes.

My worry -- sorry, I know I always have a worry! -- is that we'll see him waking up and the family having their reunion, but they'll only show a tiny bit of it. Because as you say, JF, they do tend to gloss over big important things like that -- and then, of course, they have to spend time on Lana and her "new look." I would be so MAD!

And my bigger worry is that Jonathan and Clark will have trouble in their relationship because Clark will still be upset about the deal. But then, even if that happened, I can't see it lasting long. They wouldn't have spent three seasons establishing how important Jonathan is to Clark just to go busting it up now.

Well, technically, Clark COULD still be mad about the deal, because it made him lose 3 months of his life. You know...maybe Clark joined the football team to get back at Jonathan. It would be lame and immature, but it seems like something the WB would do.

I want Clark's own "Nicodemus" scene, like the one Martha had. Speaking of which, how can anyone watch that and question how Martha really feels about Jonathan? 'Every day there's a part of me that says: "God, I hope he marries me.' " I still cry at that scene. It's honestly one of the most romantic things I have ever heard! And he didn't hear it!

Anyway, Jonathan is in worse shape now than then, I would guess. He's not all that well to begin with and now he's been in a coma for months. Clark better do some serious heart pouring at some point--and Jonathan better hear it!

Smallvillian, I'll bet she did tell him when he woke up. ;) Wish we could have seen it, though. If Lana can say the same thing 5,872 times, then Martha can say the same thing twice!

Livvie, I'd guess that Clark joins the team because he really, really wants to play, not just out of spite. He's been immature at times, but still, I can't quite see him being THAT immature.

Anyway, keeping my fingers crossed for a really good heartpouring -- from M. and C. both! And I want them to be really specific about what J. did, because they left a lot to be inferred at the end of last season. Something like, "Hey, Dad, you know the way you were so determined to save me that you let JE make you really sick? I really, REALLY appreciate that!"
