Jonathan's Lady
|
Jonathan's health has been brought up a lot just in the first few episodes this season and will have to be resolved in some way. How would you like to see it dealt with? Keep in mind this is the LJLS forum :p |

Since they're clearly not letting it drop, I think his health is going to get worse. What I want is for Clark to find some way to heal him -- not just halt the progress of the illness, but heal him altogether. Heck, why not break Cyrus out of the asylum? Seriously, though, with all the powers that Clark has access to or has dealt with (JE, Kryptonian crystals, and Lord knows what other thingamajigs), there has to be some way. Loved your review of "Run," by the way. :) |

If they could resolve all the heart problems without Jonathan dying that would make me happy. I know in the original "Superman" mythos he's supposed to die, but the writers could ignore that factor and let him live. It has been done before with "Lois and Clark." |

In every incarnation after the Crisis, Jonathan has remained alive . . . there is no reason to kill Jonathan off - and I will be extremely p****d if they do kill him off. |

I'm thinking positively. I think Jonathan will live and Lionel will be the one to die of his illness. I don't know if Jon will ever get fully cured though, altho I sure hope it could happen. The ship could heal, so its not beyond the realm of possibilities for whatever those crystals are for, to do much the same thing once its activated. Fingers crossed, eh gang? :) |

That's what I hope for too, Dawn. Smallvillian, what about you? Any thoughts? We need to stop letting you get away with not answering your own questions! :D |

Jonathan's Lady

lol. Okay. Well I remember saying last season that I would love to see Clark learn how to fly in order to save Jonathan. He has to get somewhere and get there fast--across the ocean perhaps? Maybe even to the FOS. In that circumstance, I could deal with Jonathan getting sicker and sicker-- if it forces Clark to conquor his fear of flying and enables him to embrace the one gift he seems to keep running away from--the one gift that sets him apart from all the other heros. It would also bring us *to* the FOS which seems to be hinted at so far. And it gives a good reason for Clark to go there. It would be interesting because it would be the opposite of the movie--that Clark goes their because of Jonathan's death. Instead, he would go there to help him live. No matter what, Clark taking flight should tie in with saving Jonathan. That would be a beautiful thing. :) |

VAGUE AND INDEFINITE SPOILER ALERT * * I like that! :coolyo: It would tie everything together very nicely. Because of certain spoilers, though -- namely, Clark needing to stay near home in season five -- I'll bet it wouldn't happen for some time yet. (Unless they ditch that storyline. Wouldn't be the first time they mentioned an idea and then discarded it.) |

Sometimes the fans guess what they're up to, so Al & Miles change things on purpose :( So, don't say anything you wouldn't want them to change  |

I really don't know HOW I want them to solve it, but I know I want it solved and quickly. I'm sick of them dropping the storylines of certain episodes like hot potatoes, leaving the viewers completely baffled as to what the heck is going on. I want them to have a good explanation of how Jonathan gets healed, and not some lame thing like, say in 2 episodes, Jonathan is just all of a sudden better and they don't explain how or why. I like Smallvillian's idea, and that's prolly what I would pick as my top choice for what I would LIKE to happen. Of course, TPTB never do what I LIKE to happen. |

Oh boy, oh boy -- the crystals/stones/whatever the heck they are have healing properties! :bounce: Now, just how long do you think it will take Clark to figure this out? We could be in for a long, frustrating wait here, guys! |

I think that once Clark realizes that Lionel is healed of his liver disease then he could use the crystal to heal his father. I think that would be a good resolution to this. Now, that being said, I KNOW that this is the LJLS, but IF Jonathan were to die I would want it to be in a manner that shows Clark the meaning of sacrifice (like giving his life to save Clark - not the meaningless heart attack that Jonathan had in the movie). This could be done in a way to spur Clark on to becoming Superman. That is the ONLY way I will accept Jonathan's death. Not that I want him to die or anything, but if he is going to, it better have meaning. **prepares to go into protection program from Renee and Smallvillian** |

I agree! If he has to die, I want it to be instrumental in Clark's journey. |

(Sweetly) Oh, roman and Snarky? Come over here, will you? :bonk: Seriously, I do see what you're saying, but Jonathan's already been showing the meaning of sacrifice for more than a year now, ever since he first made that deal with JE. He's come close to death two or three times now because of it -- Clark knows that the heart attack he's already had was anything but meaningless -- and he's still not well. And not likely to be any time soon, if various hints are true. So there's no need for him to actually die to show Clark the meaning of sacrifice. Now, if CLARK has to sacrifice something to save HIM, I think that would be a good resolution to the story and teach the kid anything he still needs to learn on the subject. (In fact, I already have a pretty good idea of at least one thing Clark's going to sacrifice. But there may be even more to it than I'm thinking.) |
