No spoilers here -- just some info about his career, faith, etc., and some cute stuff about his family.

Poor John, still labeled as 50
:p I'm familar with AS. It's the lower end of autism where they don't have quite as many problems. They're very interesting kids :) |

AS can be very difficult for kids to cope with. I work with one little guy, Daniel, twice a week and help with his school work mostly. He's improved remarkably well over the past 2 years. He's extremely bright, but lacks some social skills so he has a hard time fitting in with kids his own age. I'm glad JS is committed to maing programs that show parents in a positive light. I get pretty disgusted with the idiot parent stereotype on so many programs. |

It seems like a really common syndrome. Our neighbor's kid has it, and so does a colleague of mine, as well as his young son. He (the colleague) is very dominating, so much so that I found him intimidating at first! But once I got used to his conversational habits, he turned out to be really nice, not to mention incredibly smart. That's quite an unusual "meet cute" story John told, by the way. (Oieura mentioned it to me once, but I'd never heard him tell it before.) More like "meet mad"! :P: |

Here's another one - similar to the other, but a little different. Anyone notice that He never tells his nephew's name? In all these interviews he's mentioned, I've never heard the kid's name. I wonder why. Anyway, here's the link: http://www.shns.com/shns/g_index2.cfm?acti...ROFILE-11-02-04 |

Very nice! He can open a door for me anytime.
;) (And hey, Smallvillian, he had glasses on! :P: ) Frankly, I like him better as an actor because then we can see him! But still, it's commendable that he's trying to get some good productions made. It's only recently that I've noticed his nephew showing up in interviews at all, let alone by name. Maybe the kid is publicity-shy. (I thought he was Elly's nephew, by the way?) Anyway, thanks for posting! |

Yes, he IS Elly's nephew, but perhaps for some reason they are using the anonimity to protect him and the family. I don't know all the reasons of why he was adopted in the first place. I do know John loves his family and I'm sure that he is doing what is best for his family and the boy's. I think it's awesome that he has taken the boy on! But I do wish I knew what the kid's name is, it feels weird calling him "the boy". I agree - I like "seeing" John better too. But it is cool he's being able do the projects he wants to do too. I think he needs to be IN these things he's working in! that way he gets his projects done AND we get to see him! it's a win/win situation, right? He can open the door for me any time too! Actually come to think of it - he has! Well, the gate to the pool that is. ;) Thanks for posting your article too! It's a great one! |
