Don't mess with JS
|
This will be a bit of a hodge-podge -- just some tidbits of information I wanted to share! 1) Oieura posted a short video clip of an interview with John S. in the Actors forum; I thought I'd re-post it here for any Jonathan fans who missed it up there. It's non-spoilerish. You need Windows Media Player. http://www.iesb.net/movies2/movie111404.php 2) Speaking of interviews, I've got a couple of my favorite quotes from the JS interview that just ran in the "Smallville" magazine. (A good interview overall, though it didn't go as deeply into the Jonathan/Jor-El storyline as I'd hoped it would.) -- "After keeping Jonathan offscreen in the preceding episodes, some fans were surprised that he then featured so heavily in the episode that Schneider himself directed. 'Directing yourself is really easy,' the actor points out. 'It means there's one person that you don't have to explain the scene to. If you hinge the camera movement off of that character, then you've got half the work done.'" (I'm glad he cleared that up, because I was one of the fans who was surprised!) -- "'In "Forsaken," I only had one scene, and in it Clark says, "You don't think I should do this, do you?" and I say, "No I don't, but I've got to tell you that I don't trust my judgment, my instincts, nearly as much as I used to. Let's just hope that yours are right." That is an admission of fallibility, but at the same time, it's a tremendous testimony of faith and trust in how far your son has come.'" (So much for those who think of Jonathan as smug and self-satisfied! ) -- Talking about working with Allison and Kristin: "'I still have yet to have a proper scene with Lana, except for that one scene where I'm protecting her, run out and get my head bashed in. But I guess that's okay -- I'm "the dad."'" (To which I'd say, no, it's NOT okay for them to keep knocking Jonathan around, even though he is the dad! :( ) 3) In case you missed it and want to see it, John's got a letter to fans up at his site: http://www.johnschneider.tv . There's a little bit about the show in it, though not much. Oieura gets the thanks for this one as well. 4) Finally, according to the "Smallville News" page (thanks to whoever posted it), ABC Family will air a "Smallville" marathon on Dec. 31 with the actors introducing their favorite episodes. John will introduce "Nicodemus" at 5 p.m. (Gee, I wonder why "Nicodemus"? ) |
