As promised, we've got the "More Jonathan Kent on 'Smallville'" up and running. (Thanks to Smallvillian for writing it!) Go here to read and sign it: (Edited: New URL below) And if you've got fellow "Smallville" fans among your family and friends, please see if you can get them to sign it too. Thanks! ;) |

I made a mistake in posting the original petition, so it got taken down. We've finally got it going again, though. Here's the new URL: http://www.petitiononline.com/JKent/petition.html If you signed already, please take a moment to sign again (and if you didn't before, please consider doing so). And thanks for your patience with your resident dunce!! |

Thanks, you guys. By the way, Smallvillian wrote nearly all the text -- my info is just on there as poster and contact person. I don't want to steal her credit! |

Thanks again to all who signed.
:) Just an update -- we're up to 63 signatures. Or rather, 62 (one was invalidated, but the page still says 63). I've posted the petition link at pretty much every site I could think of. If anyone can think of any that I've missed, please let me know. The signatures are coming more slowly now, and it would be nice if we could get at least a few more before sending it in. Here's the list of all the sites where I've put the link: This site (the board and the SVN page) K-Site (in four different forums) DTS The WB boards The Unofficial John Schneider Group Supermanhomepage Superherohype TV Tome Zap2It The All-Knowing Board Fanbolt IMDb (the "Smallville" page and the JS page) Smallville PH I think that's all of them. Smallvillian has put a link on the LJLS site as well. I thought of posting one at the Television without Pity boards, but they're a jaded bunch and there are a LOT of Jonathan haters over there. They'd be likely to start up a "Kill Jonathan" petition out of sheer spite if they got the idea in their heads, so I think we'd better give them a pass! Again, if you can think of any more, please either let me know or just go ahead and post the message yourself. Here's the URL again: http://www.petitiononline.com/JKent/petition.html Thanks! ;) |

This "Star Trek" story is unrelated to "Smallville," but it made me think of our effort. http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/...1|,00.html I don't happen to have $10,000 to spare, though! Oh, well. By the way, can anyone get the petition URL to work today? The site hasn't worked for me all morning, and I don't know if it's my computer or their site. (If you can get it working, will you please provide us with an update on the number of signatures? Thanks!) |

I can't get it to work either, Renee. I tried a couple of the other petitions on that long list of entertainment related ones and they weren't coming up either. So it must be a problem on their end. |

Thanks for checking, Katie. (Sigh) Can anything ELSE go wrong with this petition? We're going to need to send it in before long -- the filming for this season's going to be wrapped up before we know it -- but we really need more signatures first! Well, everyone keep your fingers crossed that they get things back up and running soon. |

Oh, good, it is working again. Thanks for the heads-up, MLL. Now, if I could just get people on all those boards I alerted to quit arguing that Jonathan needs to die because it's better drama, or will make Clark a better person, or some such horse hockey. :whatever: |

I'm going to try to get this sent to G&M in the next couple of days or so, so if you want to sign it and haven't yet, please make sure you get it done. It will remain online, though, and I'll give the URL in my cover letter, so that, should they ever feel inclined to go look it up, they'll be able to see if more signatures have been added. I'm also going to call the people that sponsor the petition site and see if they can get rid of those crappy comments that a few smart-alecks left. Keep your fingers crossed on that one. There's been some debate over whether petitions are effective or not. Obviously, I think they can be sometimes. But what's beyond doubt is that letters are even more effective. So I encourage everyone to take a few minutes and drop a polite note to G&M stating that you support Jonathan and want to see more of him. Here's the contact info: Al Gough and Miles Millar Smallville c/o Tollin/ Robbins Productions 10960 Ventura Blvd 2nd Floor Studio City, CA 91604 You might also send a copy to . . . David Janollari CEO, Warner Bros. Network 4000 Warner Blvd., Building 34R Burbank, CA 91522 Fax: 818-977-4033 (Thanks to "Forever Devoted 2 Clois" for the contact info.) Thanks, everyone. Keep the Jonathan hope alive! :coolyo: |

At long last, the problem signatures on the petition have been taken care of. I'll be sending it in tomorrow, so this is the last call for signatures. And please do consider sending a letter on your own to the addresses in my last post. It's getting close to the end of the season, so I think this is a crucial time to let the producers know how we feel. Again, thanks. |
