We haven't seen much of Jonathan this season. :( :bawl:

In what episode do you feel he was most under-used? When did you think to yourself "Where the heck was Jonathan because he sure needed to be there! Stupid writers!" I think I'm going to say during the whole Alicia arc. That was a golden opportunity for Jonathan to impart some experience to Clark, his views on love, women, and relationships. It was also a time when Jonathan could have learned more about Clark's fears and insecurities and tried to offer some guidence and support. Since he's the father and all....

Oh, goodness. Where to start? So many episodes, so little time . . .

The Alicia arc's a really good pick. Since it's been used, I'm going to go with "Blank." Something tells me the whole "Clark forgets and Chloe finds out" arc will be shoved into the background in the next episode, which means we won't see Jonathan and Martha either talking with Clark about what might have happened when he blanked out, or trying to probe Chloe to see what she found out. Either or both of those would have made such a good storyline.

(And in the same episode, I wouldn't have minded Jonathan popping out from behind Clark and bellowing, "WHAT THE SAMHILL DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE GOING TO MIAMI!?")

But there are so many possible runners-up . . . :(

::Snort:: I'd have liked to do that myself. Seriously, where the heck does he get off even considering leaving them after everything he's put them through already. Doesn't he have an inkling of loyalty or a sense of duty? OR LOVE FOR HIS PARENTS? I mean, he is supposed to be Superman.

His dad has a heart condition. "Gee dad, I know you can't do the things you used to do and it's all because of me but I'll send you a postcard from the sunshine state, k dude?" I think he's been secretly hanging out with Bart. :whatever:

I don't think even Bart would have done that! Not if he had someone depending on him. He was flaky, but he at least seemed to have a heart.

It's just really, really sloppy writing, and I'm getting so tired of it.

How about pretty much every single episode in which he didn't have much screentime?

lol--I think we'd all agree with that. But I guess spicifically I meant episodes with themes and ideas that really required some parenting, specifically from Jonathan. Whether the writers like it or not, Clark is still a child by law and maturity level--judging by his decisions lately. He needs parenting!

Also, the times when you thought. "Dang, are they deaf?" Like when Jason beat the carp out of Clark in the barn. Lex was there but Jonathan, the king of "What the heck are you doing on my farm?" has no clue and is nowhere to be found? Come on. That's why I was glad they were at least allowed to be there in Onyx when Lex went all psycho and tossed Clark out of the barn.

All of them? Clark still need parental guidance, even if the writers don't think so.

Martha and Jonathan need more screen time!

Never mind the show for a moment -- I've just been pondering the fact that John's only had one interview so far in "Smallville Magazine." One. Even Annette had two. They're interviewing the girl who played LUCY LANE in the next issue, but not John. You know what's on the cover of issue #8, the current one? "Battle of the Dads -- Interview with John Glover." Um, guys, didn't you say dadS? As in, more than one?

It's a conspiracy, I tell you! :wall:

I agree with you wholeheartedly!! :P:

I think having Jonathan around would have been most important during the whole Alicia thing. He would know why Clark was acting so strange and he would have been able to stop it. :wall:
But the writers don't think very much do they?

And John Glover on the cover?!?!? He is not even that great of a dad!! :/

Jonathan was so underused during the whole Unsafe fiasco. I mean, I can understand a parent being so mad and so disappointed in their child that they *can't* talk to them at the moment, but I would have loved seeing how Jonathan would have been - telling Clark how disappointed he was, knowing that he brought him up to show respect for women, the sanctity of marriage, respect for oneself . . . but did we see any of that? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Actually I think he's been underused all season except maybe "Run," Krypto," "Transference," and "Spirit." Someone please tell me that Jonathan will be in a lot of "Ageless."

He has at least two scenes tonight that I know of -- if spoilers and previews can be trusted. (Crosses fingers)
