I think one reason why the acting might have been off was because this one one of the last episodes they filmed before airing Arrival. If you remember, they were still casting for AC back in August. Besides Aqau, they'd already been filming at LEAST through Exposed...maybe the actors were just getting worn out or something? I dunno...

Frankly, I was surprised when Clark mentioned Bart that Chloe didn't even show a hint of recognition, I was expecting her to say something like..."You mean that hotshot that hit on me at the Talon?"

anywayz...

I thought that at first. But then I realized, why would Clark give Bart's identity away just because she knows his? In the business of super-hero secret identities, that wouldn't be very ethical of Clark to do that.

I agree - just because Clark and Bruce know each other's identities later on, they don't go blabbing them around to people they know. :)

Well contrary to other opinoins I actually really enjoyed this episode.

Why did I enjoy this episode so much you might ask? Well first and foremost they brought in another DC hero, Aquaman. Personally I have never held a high standard for Aquaman, at all. But this episode makes me actually enjoy him and his presence. Now normally Aquaman depises land-dwellers. I'm glad that the writers changed his hatred to a general dislike, and only hated the people that were destroying the ocean.

Now people are complaining about the acting and dialogue, I really don't know why. If people can state what scenes they disliked, or what dialogue they hated please do so. Now i'm not saying it was perfect because it wasn't. Some of the reasons I didn't like the dialogue was because it was so repetitive. They first time Lois said something about the Orange and Green clothing it was funny. Second time you still get a chuckle. Third time, they over-played it.

In terms of the actor that played Aquaman I found his performance to be good, especially because he was a futurally unknown actor. He seemed to catch his Aquaman personality just fine. I don't understand why people didn't enjoy his acting but I suppose its all subjective.

Now people are making comparisions between "Aqua" and "Run" and "Aqua" seemed to be much better. The plot in Run didn't adapt to Flash as well as the plot in Aqua did to Aquaman. And in terms of the acting I found Richardson to capture his Aquaman personality much better than Gallner did Flash.

Another good thing about this episode was Lois came back. Lois seemed like a character you have to get used too. At first I wasn't too crazy about her, but she has gotten good especially when I saw the episode "Lucy" about 2 days ago. So I guess its gonna be nice to see her back on the farm.

Some other scenes I found interesting was the when Clark to college, when AC and Clark first confront Lex, and the last Clark/Lex scene. I think its gonna be fun to see the school life again, I still prefer them in High School, but we all have to grow up sometime. I found Tom's acting to be good in the Clark/AC/Lex scene. I thought he was acting good while he was trying to remain neutral during the arguement and trying to help out AC. And the last Clark/Lex scene I found the dialogue to be enjoyable: "I actually defended you." The mood was really serious.

I'm going to re-watch the episode again and try to look for the flat acting and corny dialogue so I can probably access the episode, feel free to constuctive critisize. :D

I liked it. Though Lois in most of the scenes bothered me but at least Lana wasn't in most of it and when she was she didn't speak much (thank god for small favors). The guy who played Aquaman was......mediocre. The grunting during the time he was breaking free was.....different. The episode was not bad. I have to say that I'm glad to see Lex FINALLY turn into the bad guy. And MR you did a great job!

DTS has some more "Aqua" stills and behind the scenes photos on their homepage. (Judging by the latter, it may have been a little too cold out to be filming beach party scenes!)

Interesting -- I keep hearing there's going to be an Aquaman spinoff show, and that Gough & Millar are going to be in charge. (I guess "Smallville" is so flawless and easy to manage that they have plenty of time to get another show up and running. ) No word yet on who'd play the lead, but it sounds like it might not be Ritchson.
