Crater Lake: We get to see anther Clana kiss  this week as Chloe and Lois walk up to where Clark and Lana are sunbathing on the shore of Crater Lake. After a brief bit of banter between Clark and Lois, Lois announces she’s going swimming. She dives off the dock and hits her head on it underwater a mysterious aquaman saves her. Clark encounters him underwater and sees him swim faster than he does which he tells Chloe after Lois is okay. We find out the new guy’s name is Arthur Curry and his friends call him AC. Central A&M: Clark walks in a few minutes late to Intro to World History as Professor Fine is few minutes into his lecture. Dr. Fine greets Clark by name as he continues his lecture. He asks Clark, "how will you affect the world around you for generations to come?" Dr. Fine then launches into a brief attack on LuthorCorp explaining how Lex has turned his father’s agricultural business into a leading defense contractor—he’s gone from feeding people to killing them. Dr. Fine warns the students to beware of white knights because they don’t slay dragons, they train them for their own dark purposes. Clark defends Lex as Dr. Fine compares him to some unflattering historical people. Talon: Lois and AC have a brief interaction filled with snark, which ends with him challenging her to a swim race. :whatever: Central A&M: Clark catches up with Dr. Fine after class to apologize for being late. They talk a little bit as they walk across campus. Dr. Fine offers Clark a research job to assist him as he writes a book about LuthorCorp. Clark turns it down. Dr. Fine shrugs it off and says, “You know what’s worse than fear of the truth, Mr. Kent, it’s fear of uncovering it.” Crater Lake: Lois and AC have a little race and then chat on the dock. He hears a high pitched sound which Lois does not hear. He dives in to find the source of the sound and ends up on the shore with his ears bleeding. We see dead fish floating on the surface. Mansion: Lex is meeting with a female scientist as she reports how the Leviathan Project is going. Lex is anxious to tell his friends at the Pentagon about it. The scientist reminds Lex that there’s still problems with the project killing marine life. Lex shrugs it off and contacts the Pentagon. Kent House: Lois and AC share a few kisses in the living room when Clark walks in on them. In the loft the next morning, Chloe comes over and fills Clark in on AC’s background. He’s a sophomore at University of Miami studying marine biology. Talon: Clark finds AC chatting with Lana and Lois. Clark questions AC and Lois gets ticked because Clark is a bit rude. We find out he’s in Smallville because he’s studying the high death rate of the fish in Crater Lake. Unknown Research Lab (LuthorCorp anyone?): AC Swims in and sets a bomb. Clark shows up and curls around the bomb so it doesn’t damage anything. Clark follows AC out into the lake from the lab. They have an underwater fight utilizing some good special effects. Clark gets flung from the center of the lake to the shore by Aquaman. Kent Farm: Clark tells Lois that AC set a bomb. She storms off. AC arrives and tells Clark he was blowing up the lab because the technology Lex is using destroys marine life. He wants Clark to help him stop the Leviathan project. Clark says he won’t help him explode stuff, but he would take him to talk to Lex. Mansion: Clark and AC visit with Lex briefly. AC gets in Lex’s face and accuses him of destroying the world. Lex tells Clark that his days of barging into his home with sage advice are over. AC storms out. Clark tells Lex that his days of believing lies are over. Crater Lake: AC gets a dart in the neck. Unknown Lab: Aquaman is strapped to a lab table. Lex calmly demands information from him. We see AC shriveling up from lack of water and Lex slowly pouring a glass of water out just out of reach before heading off to meet his clients to demonstrate what the Leviathan weapon can do. Clark shows up and turns on the fire sprinkler. AC gets his strength back. Lex meets with his “Pentagon friends” and sees his technology disappear on the radar screen. The client walk away disgusted. Lex looks at the security camera and sees two ripples streak into the lake. Mansion: Later that night Clark goes to see Lex. They engage in a little verbal sparring. Clark asks him if he ever wonders where his life is heading. Lex replies only the naive see the world in black and white. Clark tells him that a professor compared him the devil. Clark tells Lex he defended him. Clark turns and walks away muttering that apparently he is naïve. Barn: AC comes back to thank Clark for helping him. Clark warns him that Lex is relentless when he’s searching for someone. Clark tells him to stay out of trouble. AC tells Clark to get into some and stay “super.” (Okay, no more Cheetos for the writers. What’s up with all the cheesy lines this week...sheesh! :duh: ) Central A&M: Clark returns to Dr. Fine’s office and says he’d like to take the research position if it’s still available. Clark tells him he can’t sit back and watch anymore. He wants to be a part of exposing the truth about LuthorCorp. Dr. Fine says he expects his assistants to be smart, thorough, and show up for each class. He tells Clark that history shows us that every decision a man makes has an effect on the sum of his life. He tells Clark that he’s made the correct decision. Crater Lake: Lois and AC share a final kiss goodbye. :yuck: Loft: Lois actually apologizes to Clark for interfering with AC. Clark responds by saying AC was a bit misguided but not bad. Lois says she’s met a lot of guys who want to own the world, but not too many interested in saving it. Clark tells her one day she’ll meet one who will be even more special. (Awww.) Martha got a special announcement at the end to remind us to support Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation by purchasing a tag for $10 to help fund research. What a neat memento to honor the one year anniversary of his death. He’s still a hero to me. |
