After the Splinter; Clark after "Splinter."

Can't Stay Away
I watched the episode "Splinter" and I keep thinking about this. A continuation after "Splinter."

"Walking the path of a true Kryptonian." Those words kept ringing in Clark's head as he finished up his history assignment on Catherine the Great. It had been a few days after Clark's entanglement with silver kryptonite and he was trying, without much success, to forget what had happened.'

He had hurt Lana, hit his mother, nearly hurt Jonathan and had thrown Lex down the hall in his house. If it hadn't have been for Professor Fine showing up when he did Clark didn't know what he would have done.

Professor Fine had told Clark he was Kryptonian when they had fought, but Clark had thought in his fever he was imagining things. He was supposed to be the "Last Son of Krypton" like Jor-el had told him. so why was Professor Fine here?

Most Kryptonians were bad people. Lindsay/Kara was a human girl that Jor-el had stolen humanity from her and had her think she was Kryptonian. And those two people Clark had fought to save Lana from had acted like criminals. How did he know if Professor fine could be trusted? Professor Fine could be another ploy of Jor-el's to get to Clark.

"Knock, Knock," Chloe's voice rang throgh the barn as she entered his loft.

Clark looked up at his friend as he put his report in a folder to give to Professor Fine in the morning. "Hey, Chloe," Clark said, standing to his feet.

"Hi, Clark. How did the report go?" Chloe asked in her usual perky way.

"Fine. I'm ready to turn this in tomorrow," Clark said, sitting back down on his couch.

"That's good. I'm writing about the silver meteor rocks for "The Daily Planet," Chloe said, sitting down next to him.

"Okay. How's Lana?" Clark asked, his concern in his blue eyes. Lana was still in the hospital since Clark nearly strangled her and Clark was, not surprisingly, concerned.

"She's coming back tomorrow, Clark. All of us are happy that you just snapped out of it just in time," Chloe said, her voice turning serious.

"I know. If I had hurt her-" Clark couldn't finish what he was going to say as the tears welled up in his eyes.

"But you didn't, Clark. Don't beat yourself up over that. It wasn't your fault," Chloe said, touching Clark's shaking shoulder gently. It was going to take time for Clark to forgive himself for what he nearly did and to forget about it. but he would have his friends and family to help him.

Professor Fine looked up as the class entered his classroom. Kal-el was talking to a couple of students while he sat in his desk. Kal-el's face was pale, probably from the shocks he had received in the last couple of days.

Professor Fine had been the boy's teacher for over a month now and he could see that the boy was really misguided in his feelings about these humans. When Jor-el had sent Kal-el to live among the humans he probably didn't think that the boy would care for them.

Professor Fine walked up to the boy, pasting a look of concern on his face. "You all right, Clark?" Professor Fine said, hating to use the boy's human name.

Kal-el looked up. "I'm fine. I just stayed up really late finishing my history project," Kal-el said, pulling a folder out from his books.

"I don't need the report now, Clark. I'll take it up before our seminar is over," Professor Fine said, feeling amused as he walked up to the podium and signaling the class's beginning.

Kal-el's response was what Jor-el would have said. But right now Professor Fine had to start the class.

All of you can say I'm being a little bit lazy. I don't work all this week and besides being lazy I'm having a little bit of writer's block again.

I'm still suffering from writer's block on this one. I don't know why. It just seems that some stories I haven't finished come along quicker than others.

Thats okay. I get that way sometimes too. I've had some ideas that I've never written because I can't get them past the idea stage.
