There is only one person on the earth who can help Clark escape the phantom zone thingy he's trapped in - - Lionel Luthor, because he still carries Jor-El in him. I think Lionel is gonna have to go to the Fortress of Solitude and do something with the crystals there in order to free Clark. I was terrified seeing Chloe being torn apart by that mob...sure hope the storywriters see to it that she avoids getting injured or raped. |

I also wondered, when Jor-El told Clark he had to "sacrifice the vessel" whether he meant sacrifice the Lex vessel by killing him...or to sacrifice the Jor-El vessel and have Lionel die to remove Zod from Lex??? (Lex can't die...otherwise he wouldn't grow up to be Supe's arch-enemy...) |

Can't Stay Away

Well, this was pretty good. But, like has been the norm the past few seasons, it could have been good for a long time instead of just one episode. Before I start, MLL, I thought you were firmly in the "Jor-El is an @ss" camp. I have been saying all along that what we know as Jor-El really isn't. I could have sworn you were saying that it was Jor-El and he was a monster in this incarnation of Superman. Anyhow.... Like I said, it was good and the sad thing is, it could have been good for a long time. There was so much going on that was cool. I do wish Lana would be the vessel so she would have to be destroyed. She delivered some real Lana-zingers tonight. Proving, once and for all, that she is not the woman for Clark. What a bi-yatch! I actually laughed out loud when Lionel said, "You made a deal with the devil. He always comes to collect." Well, you should know!!! (anyone remember Brimstone?) The Chlark was awesome, and long overdue. The part where Clark saved her from the car was also awesome! But, I fear for Chloe now. And angry, rioting mob and a beautiful woman don't mix too well. Brainiac was great as well. After he got stabbed with the knife, it was like he knew it would happen. Or, there are many copies (sounds like a cylon LOL), so it doesn't matter to him if one dies. One thing... Brain InterActive Construct. Is that what Brainiac really stands for in the comics? I don't know for sure. But if it does, that's a cool piece of continuity. I so wanted Lex to say, "You will bow down before me, Kal-El." And Lex looking out over the dying city of Metropolis was so cool. One thing I didn't like was the allusion that Zod destroyed Krypton. Ummm... I don't think so. He wanted to take over Krypton, but the destruction of the planet really had nothing to do with Zod. That was a little too much creative license for the writers to be taking. And Clark in the Phantom Zone. That pretty much rocked. I wonder how he is going to get out. Definitely a good cliffhanger. Overall, the episode gets about a 4.5 from me. Standing by itself, it was a great episode. But I am saddened that the Smallville writers think they can keep us satisfied with a couple of good episodes at the beginning and a good cliffhanger, with 19 filler/ship episodes. I'm with Smallville to the end. Despite the past two seasons, I haven't given up hope yet. Even though the writers have given us every reason to give up. If next season is the last, and it probably should be, I really hope they give us some fantastic Superman stuff. |

I can say right now that Lana is not going to die. Despite some weak writing in her character she does become a stable woman, and important character in the Superman, and DC mythology. If you've read Dark Knight Returns (and recommend that you do, its a good comic) she is one of the very few poeple that supports a return of the super heroes and supports an aging Batman's return. As for the Fortress of Solitude, I suspect that the Jor-El is in there some where, but Zod has managed to infiltrate or otherwise corrupt the place. As for goofs, I figure that when Jor-El was first introduced he was Jor-El, but as the series expanded and writers change the ideas behind Jorl-El chagned as well. Its normal, it happens. That being said I do like where this is leading. As for Superman himself, my general understanding is that we will never see Clark as Superman. As for Season 6, I really want Clark to fly, he could do so before becoming Superman, so its about damn time that he did so. |

Call me crazy but I have a sneaky suspicion that Clark may finally return as Superman next season? but than again I could be wrong. I liked how for the first time good didn't win, and ended with evil kinda ruling, I wonder how would Clark react to knowing that Lana is going to be standing with Zod err Lex as the people he cares about, the home he cares about gets destroyed. Lana has become Isobel in all sense of the word, she has become ruthless, selfish, and ungrateful. She is alive because of Clark, and she dare through that at him? It should had been Clark saying that. What I found hysterical was seeing Lana chasing Lex in the cornfield. What is going to happen to my three favorite ladies Martha, Chloe and Lois? I hope the three of them surivive. Okay so now Lionel maybe a nice guy, but its still wrong for him and Martha. |

Look up and then tell me that boy is not hot!
|
I'm wondering how he's going to get out of the phantom zone.Maybe Jor-El will get him out. :scratchhead: The thing with Lois and Martha is killing me though. It's obvious Lois is going to survive but Martha...She's not exactly a big part of superman is she?(I've only seen the first two) Clark already lost his dad.He doesn't need to lose his Mommy too. |

I really enjoyed this episode but the problem I find with Smallville at times is that the pacing is all off. The build up was too slow meaning that the last ten minutes felt rushed. Earlier in the season Clark told Lana that he was an alien and it didn't change her feelings toward him at all, it made her love him more because he was finally honest with her. They go back 24hours when she dies and Jonathan's life is taken instead. What I don't understand is now he knew that Lana could be trusted why he didn't tell her and pushed her away? I'm pretty sure that when the dagger hit the Brainiac in the Barn it didnt affect them all...if it did then the jet with Martha and Lois on will fall right of the sky and bye bye Mom and future wife. I hope when the next season comes around Clark doesnt dispense with Zod in the first episode and leave us with 19 poor episodes again. It should take him a few to get rid of Zod. I hope those two Disciples of Zod Clark fought in the first episode of this season return...and the fight lasts more than 30seconds this time. |

roman, I'm still a "JE is an a@@" follower. I just pointed out a possible theory, but I really don't think the writers are smart enough to follow it. ;) |

overall a good episode. just a few things...this chlark thing has got to stop, its useless. I know there are a lot of chloe fans out there but smallville should just be called (edit) if anything. everybody gets with everybody!!!! chloe is the real hero in this show she does everything. is it me or does chloe remind me of penny from inspector gadget and sometimes clark acts like brain the dog causes hes always stumped. lana is a lost cause. she is the most fluxuated character in the season. theres no consistency but retardedness. but anyways im not bashing smallville cause its my favourite show!!! some good things lex sees clark uses his powers (strength) but he will probaably forget what happened (people on smallville have bad memory, show could also be called memoryville!!!). I agree with some people, I am starting to like Lionel a lot, I always have but he is very good. I cant wait till season 6, I hope best buy gives 5 dollar off coupons so i can get season 5 for a discount!!! woohoo!!! till next season i'll be watching smallville reruns!!! |

Okay, that was harsh and un-neccesary insulting others. -__- Though, it's not my job to handle that. >.> Anyways, Loved the show, everything was great, but I agree - this Chlark thing will never work anymore... =( Again, my fave actor Michael did another great piece of act! =D I loved the scene with Tom and Michael fighting at the barn. =P Lovely to see Smallville end up dark, =P I cannot stop thinking about how Clark will exit the Phantom Zone... =D =D :slogo: |
