I was happy to see Pete again. This episode also explained why Pete didn't know about certain things. He technically did chop all ties with Clark. I don't know what's up with Lionel though. Why did he lie to Clark about Kara's bracelet? Speaking of Kara; she is going to get burned! Lana warned her about Lex pretending to be the hero and swoop in at the right moment and then turning the tables her. But I also understand why Kara feels she can trust Lex over Clark and Lana. They should have told her the truth. Lana should have told her the truth when they were in Clark's loft. Unless they think she won't believe them or will go tell Lex. I give the episode a B. Kryptonite gum is so lame!! It was also a rip of the Fantastic Four. I love that movie and seeing Pete stretch his arm like Ioan Gruffudd made me think of that movie.

Beside Clark
I was very pleased that they brought back Pete Ross to the show. Though, I wish they could have used a much better storyline for him. Pete Ross comes to the show as a roadie for a rock band, and saves Kara Kent's life by using his powers to do good. Pete gets his powers from Stride Gum, which has Kryptonite in it.With his abilities, Pete can do everything that a Superhero does, and he thrives for the attention.
I hate the fact that Kara has memory loss, mainly because it is turning her against Clark who is her only cousin. I mean, if you can't trust your own family, who can you trust? She is making a big mistake trusting Lex, and he will only turn her against Clark.
In the End, Pete has to give up his Superpowers, because it changes his personality, and makes him use Kryptonite on Clark.
Eventually, Kara will get her memory back, and when she does, she will realize that she can trust Clark, and Lex will only betray her trust as well and she will eventually see him like everyone else does.

Once again one of my earlier predictions came true. About the Stride gum and a commerical following after the opening teaser. That brought back memories of Season 3's Extinction when Pete commented on lemon pledge.Followed by a lemon pledge commercial, thats our product placement pete.

I loved how Pete really let Clark have it with the reality check.Thats what real friends do they tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to here.It really opened Clark's eyes on their past and unresolved issues. I hope that Sam can come back as a regular for Season 8 or guest star in another episode for the new season.

It was a shame Sam didn't get any screen time with Erica. It would've been cool for Pete to meet Lois aka Clark's future wife. I also enjoyed the nods to Season 2 & 4 it shows how Clark's changed since High School.

Jonathan Fan I don't think Pete was ripping off Mr. Fantasic from Fantasic Four.If you recall Plastic Man is in the DC Universe and was part of the Justice League. So that was a nod to that character the only thing that bugged me.Was the preview for next week's episode the kryptonite cage. That to me was a direct rip off of the plot idea from L&C Season 1 finale. When Superman was trapped in a kryptonite cage. While Lex's wedding ceremony to Lois was happening. It ticks me off that Smallville has to rip off a great show like Lois & Clark.

It was really nice seeing Pete back. I was very sad when he left the show three years ago... I didn't like the attitude the Kryptonite put on him, but it brought out in the open some of the things that were left when he left.

I have always known that Lionel has been putting on a facade, and that he truely is that evil B. that he was in past seasons. I knew he was biding his time... It looks like next week he'll break out of his "nice shell" and go back to being that outright evil turd you love to hate.

I loved that Pete came back for an episode, but I agree with Glassangels that I would have liked a better storyline for him.

The return of the basketball scenes were nice, and I'm happy Pete made a comment about how many people know about Clark's secret and Lionel Luthor in the Kent kitchen. It's exactly the stuff Clark needs to hear. I had forgotten about Product Placement Pete.

I don't like Kara's current arc. Her character has so much potential on Smallville, and the writers are wasting so much time with her memory loss. What will it lead to? Lex finding out Clark's secret? There are better ways to get to that.

I liked the part where Lionel found Clark in LuthorCorp and Clark told him, "We need to talk," but I would love to see their conversation and find out why Lionel was keeping the bracelet.

I don't know anything about a character named Plastic Man, The only person in DC or Marvel that I was aware of is Mr. Fantastic from The Fantastic Four. I guess Plastic Man is one of those characters in DC that hardly anyone knows anything about. I would have to say that besides you, Mano, the only one who might know anything about Plastic Man might be my dad since he read DC Comics when he was a boy before my grandmother threw them all away.

Well I know very little about Plastic Man now it seems like he disappeared years ago.I don't think he's part of the current Justice League. He might have not been popular for very long.

I've heard of Plastic Man, but I don't know that much about him.

I thought Pete's power made sense...powers came from Kryptonite-laced gum and so he was stretchy like gum.

I'm surprised they would use a product thats well known. Why not just make up a chewing gum company? This episode sounds like a law suit waiting to happen.

Mano, there won't be a lawsuit for Smallville using Stride gum. Sometimes companies will pay tv shows to have them use their product in the show. It's another form of advertising for them. Also Smallville and Stride gum teamed up to create a digital comic book. You can read about that here.

I knew that Lex I just meant it as if they made Stride look bad. But either way it wouldn't look like Stride would sue.Since they were getting paid to have the product on the show.

I, along with pretty much everyone else, was so so so happy to see Pete! But of course, Pete comes back and he and Clark get into a fight. Typical, I guess. Despite being good friends, it seems they always fight, haha.

Yeah, Kara is starting to annoy the heck out of me. I agree with grkgrl88 that her character has potential. I loved seeing Clark have a family for once - or, at least a family member. And a blood-related one at that, not just Martha's dad or something. And now she has to turn on him and stay at the mansion with Lex? Uggh, it just makes me angry with Kara and hate Lex (even more than I already do).

I'm getting fed up with that girl.
