Who read this book by now? I really enjoyed it. Then again I loved all the books besides "The Flood". And I didn't like the love scene at the end of "Contact Harvest" much either. Johnson doesn't sleep with women, he just looks at them and the writhe with pleasure! Kinda like Chuck Norris. Opinions on the book?

Yeah and they are actually pretty good. It really fleshes out the already solid Halo-verse. The more money the make with Halo related things that aren't video games, the better the chances get that that f-ing Halo movie finally gets made. I'm tired of crappy Bloodranye and Max Payne movies. All they do is give potential good videogame movies a bad rap before they are even made.

It's a Trap!

I just got the Cole Protocol today for Christmas. I've read the first 70 or so pages and I like it so far. It took awhile to relize that it was before Halo CE and everything. Eric Nylund is still my favorite though.
So what, I'm a Star Wars geek?!?

Well yeah I can't argue the fact the Nyland has been the best writer for the Halo Universe so far, but I think that if you include Keyes in any book, your setting yourself up for success. I don't know why but writing about him really expands the Halo-verse to the max because it takes the focus away from the Spartans, but not completely because he was so crucial in the creation of them. If Doctor Hasley is the Spartan II's mother, he is most defiantly their Father.

p.s. The Flood still sucked. Worst book I've read in years.

Lol, just finished this book a few hours ago. I loved the story and everything, but Nylund is such a better author. I agree on the Keyes thing. I would quicklly skim through the Covenant parts just to get to Keyes and the Spartans. The Covenant parts were boring in comparison.

there's just something about the Keyes section in any of the Halo books that draws us to them. Maybe because he's not just some faceless Cyborg Hero. He's just as human as the rest of us. He has a life outside the Navy. He deals with what we deal with. i think its because we can connect with him on such a personal level that thats why we flock to him. Not that Spartans don't rock!
