Loki, his house-folk's new pet, was sitting up on the window sill, bathing in the sun. Suddenly, his attention span gave out and he jumped down, headed for the cat door his family had installed, and went outside hoping that it would be more exciting out there. |

"HELLO!" Navi yelled from across the yard, running to him. "What's up?" she asked. |

"Hello." Loki replied. "I'm Loki. I just adopted my house-folk, and I'm new around here. Are there any exciting places near-by?" |

Navi nodded. "Have you ever heard of the creepy stories of the forest cats?" |

Loki shook his head, but leaned forward. This sounded interesting. |

"Wellllllll... there are many cats out there" she nodded towards the forest. "They live horrible HORRIBLE lives.... They live outside and have to catch their own food!" |

"I don't think I'd like to live outside." Loki commented, wincing. "Especially not in the rain! But catching your own food isn't that bad. My house-folk let me catch mice somtimes, though they get mad when I leave them on the doorstep or bring them inside." The gleam in his eyes suggested that he enjoyed doing so. |

The gleam seemed to ricochet around in Navi's eyes too. "Yeah, it can be fun... But still, for every meal!" she shuddered. "I don't think I can live without milk though." |

Loki licked his lips. "Yeah, milk is great. So is catnip. There's some in my yard." |

Loki purred. "Brilliant!" He started leading her toward his yard. "You never told me your name, by the way." He noted. |

"Navi!" Navi meowed. She raced to him, excited to have their mini adventure. "I'm glad you are in the neighborhood, the other cats are older and sooooooo boring!" |

Loki nodded enthusiastically. "I know what you mean. I was beginning to give up hope that I'd find someone to explore with." |

Navi followed happily, nodding enthusiastically. "I mean, they are interesting.... But, ya know... boring" |

"So, have you ever been in the forest?" Loki asked, an adventerous gleam in his eyes. |
