New Mvp Rule

It comes to the Staff's attention that many people in the past have misunderstood who should be sent to the MVP tournament. Some teams would send whoever they felt had the best chance of winning no matter if they really deserved it or not. Others would send whoever they liked the best instead of who really earned the spot. Remember, the MVP tournament is not supposed to be taken too seriously. It is a slap stick event intended to show off the seasons best performers in a silly event where anything can happen. IF you are in it to win it, you are doing it wrong.

Now that we have actual stats, we have decided to enact a simple rule. Your highest damaging player automatically goes to the MVP. While who is an MVP is sometimes subjective, it is hard to argue that the highest damaging player is not MVP material. The MVP is not who you liked best or who you think will win. It should be the person that stepped onto the field week after week and performed best. The highest average damage is the simplest way to tell this.

Some people may not be the biggest fan of this, but this is the only way to keep teams from violating the whole point of the MVP tournament. In addition it will help to ensure we see new face at the tournament instead of seeing the same people year after year because they are good 1 on 1 fighters.

So, here is the list of everyone going to the MVP tournament:

Androids: Cell
Blades: Cyborg Tao
Buus: Kid Buu
Cold: Frieza
Derp: Dodoria
Dragonball Warriors: Nam
ED: Mid Goku
Ginyu Force: Recoome
Gohans: Teen Gohan
Majins: Majuub
Muscle: The Rosh
Nameks: Tambourine
Rugrats: Goten
Saiyans: Scouter vegeta
SSJs: End Vegeta
Vals: Fasha

These are the two parts that seem the most dubious to me. From the right angle, they can seem to be overly stressing the "MVP" part of the name, wanting it to be a more serious and respected thing.

Well, okay then, if your objective is to make less serious and more fun I hope you succeed, I still don't agree with the rule, but if you think that will work I will trust you on this. And yeah, I think we misunderstood the initial post, sorry about that. :P

Also, for everyone that keeps using Majuub as an example, please stop doing that. I'm the coach of the Majins AND a staff member, I already gave my okay to this and think that Majuub has just as good a chance as any other character because he's a good character and he earned the right to be the team's MVP.

Apologies if this isnt helpful, but there is another factor that could help decide who the MVP of each team is, and thats looking at each players individual win/loss record, or how many times theyve knocked out opponents against how many times theyve been KO'd themselves. As with the average damage it alone isnt a clear picture, but combined they can help to give a better idea of whos done the best during the season. If youre interested then I have everyones records already recorded, so it would be easy enough to post them all here.

Last season, King Piccolo defeated himself in the first 3 seconds of the match. Everyone loved it and thought it was brilliant. Even the Namik supporters thought it was amazingly funny. Now, imagine if that was your player and you spent two weeks planning how to win. You would not think it was funny. You would not laugh and cheer at the good times. You would be pissed and probably demand a rematch.
Just going to start by saying I don't have any problems with this rule, it makes sense that the mvp should be the best player.
To the real point: I don't think you're giving the viewers enough credit. I don't think anyone here would be that angry about losing a match. Half the teams lose every week.
No matter what you do, I'm still going to want my team to win, but I'll still laugh if kid buu runs straight into the ground, because its funny.

Right but sindre you would care more if you lost after preparing builds and planning on how best to get to the top. And even if you wouldn't there are people who would put their all into winning the MVP tournament and then flip a shit if their character flew into a ring out.

I have seen no one who's done this when a character derps in any other match. I don't think this forum is full of raging 10 year olds
