New Mvp Rule

It comes to the Staff's attention that many people in the past have misunderstood who should be sent to the MVP tournament. Some teams would send whoever they felt had the best chance of winning no matter if they really deserved it or not. Others would send whoever they liked the best instead of who really earned the spot. Remember, the MVP tournament is not supposed to be taken too seriously. It is a slap stick event intended to show off the seasons best performers in a silly event where anything can happen. IF you are in it to win it, you are doing it wrong.

Now that we have actual stats, we have decided to enact a simple rule. Your highest damaging player automatically goes to the MVP. While who is an MVP is sometimes subjective, it is hard to argue that the highest damaging player is not MVP material. The MVP is not who you liked best or who you think will win. It should be the person that stepped onto the field week after week and performed best. The highest average damage is the simplest way to tell this.

Some people may not be the biggest fan of this, but this is the only way to keep teams from violating the whole point of the MVP tournament. In addition it will help to ensure we see new face at the tournament instead of seeing the same people year after year because they are good 1 on 1 fighters.

So, here is the list of everyone going to the MVP tournament:

Androids: Cell
Blades: Cyborg Tao
Buus: Kid Buu
Cold: Frieza
Derp: Dodoria
Dragonball Warriors: Nam
ED: Mid Goku
Ginyu Force: Recoome
Gohans: Teen Gohan
Majins: Majuub
Muscle: The Rosh
Nameks: Tambourine
Rugrats: Goten
Saiyans: Scouter vegeta
SSJs: End Vegeta
Vals: Fasha

This forum is not full of raging 10 year olds but you are not privy to everyone's team thread. Trust me when a character derps in important season matches people are NOT happy. So it's best to keep the MVP as light hearted as possible so people have a chance to see derp and laugh rather than face palm in frustration.

Im personally like the idea of having the highest average damage person from teach team going to the MVP it just makes sense and sure to make this entertaining every MVP tournament

I'm personally fine with this new rule, but I am concerned with how far this will go. Ever since stats came into play in the league, I was afraid that eventually the league would be using the stats to decide major conflicts in the league. I find that MVP's are not one of them, and also give a bit of a random element into the game, but I am afraid that this will snowball into using the stats to decide something big, like who gets to be in which division, and who gets the be the first of the division. That hasn't happened yet however, so I'll shut up about it for now.

Well, with the exception of the MVP, which as stated makes sense except perhaps in some rather rare cases, stats seem to be merely for aesthetics and bragging rights, but also to determine a draw, as is actually the case in some divisional rankings and playoff spots- If Saiyans, Valkyries and Muscle all tied, it would've come down to average damage as a team, which also makes sense in the scenario. I understand your concerns but even if it does happen, I'm not sure if it'd be a bad thing as long as it makes sense.

Heck, if it makes sense, bring it on I say. I'm a major fan of the nitty-gritties when it comes to stuff like this

Well I think something like stats is a good non bias decision maker the stats speaks for its self

Plus, then, the best fighters are always in matches and, ideally, they'll give a good show.

We were using stats to determine big elements in the League even before we had actual numbers. Divisions were decided by win/loss. Your position in the division was decided by win/loss and who you won against/lost against in the season. Stats being used for major decisions/conflicts is the only fair and logical way to do it. And now that we have hard numbers it's easier.

Imagine for a second the possible tie we almost had between Saiyans, Muscle and your Vals without stats and hard numbers. Hard numbers would have determined that just fine with highest average damage pushing through the more damaging of the two teams. But without them what would have been fair? You beat Saiyans so they don't go above you. Saiyans beat me so they jump ahead of me. But I beat you. Suddenly it's a head scratcher and while I'm sure a reasonable solution would have been agreed upon and implemented having the stat team's numbers makes the process undeniably fair and easy to execute.

And as far as who is in what division we figured that out without even needing the stats team. North Kai as an example. DBW would have been in North Kai had I not tied with them. But I beat them during the season and tied with them and I knocked them out of North Kai fair and square.

If you think that the League stats will create some unfavorable conditions I suggest you make a new thread and raise your concerns. Either the Staff will ease your mind or you'll bring up good points that will then be discussed so fairness and balance can be maintained in the League to the best of our abilities.
