I'm dead tired but I needed to get this up ASAP... if you call the day after we made the choice ASAP... so the teams could get to work. Two people tried out for the Rugrats:
thekreign DBZ League RugRats Coach Application: RugRats v. Majuub, Chiaotzu, Teen Gohan, Tamborine, and Pilaf.
I was told that this was to see the Coach's skill in the playoffs and how he reacts when faced with a certain team. Due to this information I decided to build 3 Characters to specifically shut down the 3 biggest threats I saw on the opposing team. These threats were Majuub, Teen Gohan, and Tamborine. My counter to Majuub was a bulky tank build with an aggressive AI to limit the charging time Majuub would have. This can be seen in my build for Cell Jr. Teen Gohan always has the potential to quickly devastate a team, his counter is in the form of one of the best 1 v. 1 fighters in the league, Kid Trunks. The key to this counter is correctly predicting Teen Gohans place in the line up. Finally Tamborine in his tank build. I found in watching the league the best way to deal with a tank build is to either A. create a counter tank build or B. Create an offensive monster that nullifies the health regen by destroying the tank quickly. This latter path is the one I chose. The counter I made was GT Goku, whose general fantastic offense should be able to destroy Tamborine quickly while still being able to take damage and fight later if the fight requires it. These reasons are the reason I order my team the way I did. I was allowing for one miscalculation in my prediction of who goes where. This error will be sorted out by Chi-Chi and Goten. I added the role I wanted each person to have nxt to their name in the build list below. Thanks for your consideration.
Best Regards,
Kreign Predicted order of opposing team: Majuub, Chiaotzu, Tamborine, Teen Gohan, Pilaf
Cell Jr: Lead Cell AI Reason: I watch AI test on Cell Jr. and saw a very aggressive character who took action and command of the other AI in the fight. He proceed to win the next 3 test I watched with similar results. I chose this AI because I think a good wall build is based around a good attacking AI to limit the amount of Supers a tank takes.
Potaras: Defense +2 Eternal Life Hatred of Saiyans
Reason- this build focuses on making Cell Jr. able to handle hits similar to Tamborine and Fascia. Cell Jr. has strong B2's that can be used to good effect as he can both take hits and constantly recovers Ki thanks to "Hatred if Saiyans" essentially making him an Android in fighting style. I feel like this would help in this match-up to help neutralize Majuub impact on the match. If Cell Jr. can limit the amount of damage received against a power like Tamborine I like our chances. If Cell Jr. goes 1 v 1 with Majuub in this build I feel his combination of B1 and B2 can surpass Majuub and give the RugRats the advantage.
Chi-Chi: Spammer Chiaotzu AI: Reason: This is the AI used by Chi-Chi in the playoffs and most of season 5 in what I'm calling here breakout year. Defensive mind set allows here to escape conflict then follow with either a B1 or B2 to damage the opponent.
Potaras: Ki +1 Fighting Spirit Indignation! Perfect Guard Unleash Ki Savior
Reasons: This is a case of what I like to call if it works once, why not use it again. This is a similar build that Chi-Chi used in the Playoffs, trading her clash . Chi-Chi used Ki +1 and Fighting Spirit to increase her Charge rate to throw out more spam B2's. The key element to the build is Indignation. As Chi-Chi loses health, her B2's become extremely powerful. Combine this power with the spamming power Chi-Chi possesses and you have your self a destructive B2 Spammer. Perfect Guard is the to protect Chi-Chi from damage when se blocks, which happens offen. Unleashed Ki is on to give her a better chance to win Clashes, important considering she has a rush B2. Savior give Chi-Chi the ability to begin spamming immediately upon entering the Field.
Goku(Super Saiyan 3): Tamborine Counter/ Offensive force Vageta AI: Reason: I reviewed the AI film and saw the devastating power SSJ3 Goku had absolutely destroying the opposing AI. For this match I think that devastating damage this AI can produce would be a great asset to this team.
Form Choice Reason: SSJ3 is the best choice I have seen for Goku due to the incredibly high damage outputs that are possible. Also there is the possibility for Goku to go SSJ4 which can be a game changer late if he has the opportunity to do damage.
Potaras: Exquisite Skill Power of Rage Super +2 Ki-1 Dende's healing Fighting Spirit
Reason: Exquisite Skill allows a person to recover quickly from being stunned, will work well in the upcoming battle as Chiaotzu, Majuub and Tamborine all possess stunning B1's, this will limit the power of these and get Goku on the attack again. Power of Rage is a necessity on Goku due to his ultimate being a rush type. This allows for more chances at Max Power and better over all damage. Super +2 Ki -1 is there to do exactly what it says power up his Super Kamahamaha and Super Energy Wave Volley. The downside of a slower charge rate is reduced due to both SSJ3 natural quick charge rate and Fighting Spirit. Dende's healing give Goku the best chance to survive the longest while not making him a tank build. Fighting Spirit helps improve the Ki regeneration he lost to increase his Supers power.
Trunks(regular): Teen Gohan counter/ Offensive force Trunks AI: Reason- Trunks AI give Trunks an attacking mind set and causes him to be aggressive. As Trunks is arguably the best 1 v 1 fighter in the league, I decided to put him up against a destructive power in Teen Gohan with the task of destroying him quickly so that the damage we receive from Teen Gohan is at a minimum.
Form Choice reason: Trunks is in base form to increase his natural defenses so that he can still take attacks despite the defense drop. This is also the best form of Trunks as generally he performs much better in this form the SSJ form.
Potaras: Attack +2 Defense -1 Serious! Warrior's Will Quick Fast Attack Unleashed Ki Dende's Healing
Reason- Trunks is going to be my counter to Teen Gohan. In order to plan for this I followed the general outline of the build used in the Gauntlet. Attack +2 Defense -1 is a good trade of for Trunks. With his attack increased he will be able to deal massive damage quickly and therefore, be able to take out Teen Gohan or whoever he faces quickly. Further increasing his Attack stat is Serious! the damage his opponent deals to Trunks will only serve to quicken his own end as each bar of health Trunks loses increases his already impressive attack stat. Warriors will allows Trunks to survive combos by his opponent with blocks that give half damage to Trunks. Quick Fast Attack allows Trunks rush B2 to deal massive damage as it increases the power of his Rush attacks. Unleashed Ki gives Trunks a better chance to win his clashes but still allowing a complete build around it. Dende's healing is used to prolong Trunks' life as the longer he is the on the Field the greater the damage he does.
Goten(Super Saiyan): Late Match Sweeper Goku AI Reason- Goten has shown the ability to be a complete player as shown in his distinction of leading the RugRats in damage last season. To take full advantage of this; I think Goku AI suits him the best. It is the most balanced AI allowing Goten to take advantage of his Kamahamaha and Assult! B2 without focusing too much on one skill allowing Goten to become the most balanced offensive fighter on the RugRats.
Form Choice Reason: Goten is trying to be an balance offensive attacker and being Super Saiyan allows this to happen much more effectively and in this case worth the loss in defense.
Potaras: Indignation! Serious! Savior Quick Charge Ki power +1 Miracle Master
Reason: This build reflects my desire for Goten to be a balance fighter. Indignation! and Serious! constantly power up as Goten inevitably takes damage these combined with Miracle Master could provide some devastating revenge damage upon be hit with an array of attacks either from B2 Spammers such as Majuub or Malee specialist such as Pilaf. In this particular match up I would prefer to see Goten go against Pilaf who's love of smash attacks would allow Miracle Master to work. Quick Charge is in place to ensure the Kamahamaha will always deal full power to the opposing team. Ki Power +1 is there to balance Goten out to allow his B2 and Malee game to reach their highest potential with valuable Ki quickly regenerating to help. Savior is there to allow Goten the possibility of throwing out Bros. Kamahamaha; though this is not the focus of the build, a Bros. Kamahamaha possibility is never a bad addition to a build.
TopGamer357 Majuub, Chiaotzu, Teen Gohan, Tabourine and Pilaf
Cell Jr.(starter) (Broly A.I.) -Quick fast attack(1) -Combo master(1) -Ki control(1) -Unleash Ki(1) -Latent energy(1) -Master strike(1) -Mirage(1)
Trunks(SJJ) (Trunks A.I.) -Unleash Ki(1) -Defense +2 attack-1(1) -Eternal life(4) -Broly's ring(1)
Goten(SJJ) (Tien A.I.) -Savior(1) -Style of the strong(4) -Broly's ring(1) -Serious!(1)
Chichi (Krillin A.I.) -Power of Rage(2) -Dende's healing(2) -Ki+2 super-1(1) -Latent energy(1) -Serious!(1)
GT Goku(SSJ3) (Vegeta A.I.) -Power of Rage(2) -Launch's Support(2) -Draconic Aura(3)
Now I will explain why I chose this build. Cell Jr's build is made specifically to counter Majubb. I gave him the Broly A.I. and melee potaras because I want him to stay in Ubb's face, and do as much damage as possible before Ubb gets to charge. I also gave Cell Jr. Mirage so he can dodge Majubb's barrage attacks more easily(his B2 and Ultimate). For Trunks I make a defense/melee build. I did this because Trunks is one of the best fighters on the team and I want him to stay in the fight as long as possible, and do as much damage as he can as he is very dangerous, and every second he can stay in the fight is a big plus. I built Goten specifically for teen Gohan as he is the most dangerous on the team and I want him out of the fight as soon as possible. With style of the strong Goten will do 20k+ damage if he hits with ultimate which will be huge if he can take out Teen Gohan before he can cause any damage. For chichi her build is made to fight Pilaf and Tamborine, but it will work(not as effectively) against the the other fighters as well. I made the build so she could through out as many B2s as possible to wear her opponent down and then get into melee, and then repeat. GT Goku is the finisher and will most likely be going against Pilaf or Tamborine. Taking that into consideration I gave Goku a clash boost, because there will be alot of clashes between him and Pilaf/Tamborine. I also gave him Draconic Aura to give him an edge in the melee game and just in case Pilaf transforms. Finally the reason I gave Goku Launch's Support is because of his powerful B2s and his slow SSJ4 charge rate.
This is my application for the Rugrats's Coach Tryouts, and I hope you consider electing me as coach of the Rugrats.
Yours truly, TopGamer357
Both builds were decent and had potentail, but we felt that thekreign had a better grasp of how the team works and what he could do to improve them. As with everyone else, there is room for improvement, but it is a good start. Congrats thekreign, you are the new Rugrats Coach.
We had only one submission for the Gohans:
havoc313 This is my application for a coaching position for the Gohans the following below is my build that I've build to get together and I will go through each character and the build I've have provided for them and explain my reasoning and why this a good build against the opposition. My Plan for Success is to predict the line up of my opposing team and the build the will be using and for the battle and counter them with the appropriate fighter and build.
My prediction on the enemy team: Tambourine - Defence +3 Attack -1 Chiaotzu - Ki +1 Teen Gohan - Super +2 Ki -1 Pilaf - Super +1 Majuub - Ki +2 Super -1
My Build:
Saiyanman - Costume 1 AI - Trunks
Super +1 (1pt) Unleashed Ki (1pt) Fighting Spirit (1pt) Latent Energy (1pt) Rising Fighting Sprit (1pt) Dende's Healing (2pt)
Kid Gohan - Costume 1 AI - Gohan
Ki +2 Super -1 (1pt) Combo Master (1pt) Indignation (1pt) Rush Blast 3 (3pt) Quick Fast Attack (1pt)
Future Gohan SS1 - Costume 1 AI - Trunks
Attack +2 Defence -1 (1pt) Eternal Life (4pt) Saviour (1pt) Serious (1pt)
Teen Gohan SS2 - Costume 1 AI - Frieza
Super +2 Ki -1 (1pt) Style of the Strong (4pt) Saviour (1pt) Indignation (1pt)
Ultimate Gohan - Costume 1 Done AI - Gohan
Attack +1 (1pt) Mirage (1pt) Rising Fighting Spirit (1pt) Dende's Healing (2pt) Serious (1pt) Combo Master (1pt)
Firstly for my Starter
Saiyanman - Costume 1 AI - Trunks
Super +1 (1pt) Unleashed Ki (1pt) Fighting Spirit (1pt) Latent Energy (1pt) Rising Fighting Sprit (1pt) Dende's Healing (2pt)
My starter was chosen because of who I though would mostly start for the opposing team. I determined that Tabourine was going to be the starter this was determined because both Teen Gohan and Pilaf are known saviour and super + builds. Which would most likely be somewhere in the middle of their line up. Majuub and Chiaotzu are possible starters but Majuub is the only viable closer for the opposing team. While Chiaotzu could be a starter but highly unlikely due to the fact that Tambourine has been a better and successful starter in the past with a heavy defence build. I chose Saiyanman as a starter because he normally has a Defence build but I thought he would be more successful fighter he is shown to be very aggressive and can be a threat to Tambourine where he can deal a lot of damage via his b2s. So I decided to put Super +1 and Rising Fighting Spirit on him because it would great improve the damage of his B2s especially if he continues to use is junk shot b2 and with Rising Fighting Spirit he can throw a B2 in the start of that match to get a head start. Since tambourine will be on a heavy defence build and super +1 will compensate for the low damage that Saiyanman will be doing to Tambourin. Ive also included other potaras such as Fighting Spirit which will improve ki recharge for each bar of health loss this will benefit Saiyanman as he takes more damage he will be able to recharge faster and also deal more damage with the Super +1. Latent Energy and Dende’s Healing are also included into his build the main purpose to keep him on the field as long as possible Dende’s Healing Saiyanman while Latent Energy will increase his defence with Tambourine’s poor melee damage in mind Saiyanman will be taking less and less damage while he and recharge his ki and use his Junk shot b2 to stop Tambourine in his tracks. Finally I also included Unleashed Ki to increase the chance that he will win the clashes he will enter due to thte fact he will be using his junk shot B2 frequently to slowly defeat Taborine
Kid Gohan - Costume 1 AI - Gohan
Ki +2 Super -1 (1pt) Combo Master (1pt) Indignation (1pt) Rush Blast 3 (3pt) Quick Fast Attack (1pt)
Kid Gohan’s Role is to either finish up Tambourine and/or defeat Chiaotzu. I chose him for this position because he is very capable of defeating Chiaotzu and also finishing up Tabourine if needed with the following build. Ki +2 Super -1 and a Rush Blast 3 which will allow his to spam his ki rush blast barrage b2 more often and allowing the rush blast 3 to increase the strength and and reduce the Ki cost of the Rush Blasts. Ive also included Indignation to increase the power of is b2s and Ultimates which every bar of damage he has done which he will be doing more damage and with a quick charge and rush blast ki cost halved. Ive also included Combo master to allow him better melee damage and quick fast attack which will allow his rush attack to become more powerful. My reasoning behind this build was to allow Kid Gohan deal a lot of damage in a short period of time but also keeping him balanced in other fields like Melee but his main offensive is his rush blasts and his b2 ki Barrage which will defeat Chiaotzu because Chiaotzu has very small beam attack which only go in one direction and he will only have Ki +1 which wont be as fast as Kid Gohan. Kid Gohan is also known to be very aggressive which b2 Barrage which will allow him to be in Chaiotzu face and keep him from using he B2s or even Melee.
Future Gohan SS1 - Costume 1 AI - Trunks
Attack +2 Defence -1 (1pt) Eternal Life (4pt) Saviour (1pt) Serious (1pt)
Future Gohan Has one of the most important roles with his aggressive fighting style with a heavy melee build he's gonna go against Teen Gohan. Im predicting that he will go up against Teen Gohan and with that in mind the build Future Gohan with Attack +2 and Defence - 1 which will allow Future Gohan very aggressive fighting style to be in his face and allow himself to dominate in the melee game along with Serious will further increase his melee damage especially when Teen Gohan with a Super +2 Ki -1 with his slow charge rate will allow him to take advantage one of Future Gohans weakness. But furthermore, Future Gohan will also have a weaker defence because if Attack +2 and Defence -1 which is why I put Eternal life allowing Future Gohan to have more staying power for further influence the outcome of the battle. My reasoning behind this build was to have a very aggressive melee fighter go up against Teen Gohan who will keep Teen Gohan from using his ultimates or B2s and with his massive melee build and having Eternal life will allow him to recover from the unfortunate event of him taking a ultimate or B2.
Teen Gohan SS2 - Costume 1 AI - Frieza
Super +2 Ki -1 (1pt) Style of the Strong (4pt) Saviour (1pt) Indignation (1pt)
Teen Gohan will be doing his traditional role with is very accurate and powerful ultimate I predict he will go up against Pilaf who will be using a Super +1 and Saviour. But Teen Gohan will have a Super +2 ki -1 and Style of the Strong and Indignation and Saviour which will make is B2s and Ultimates very powerful which will over come pilaff if he gets hit as well with saviour will will allow him to get one of as soon he hits the battle field. The reasoning behind this was if he were to go up against his counterpart it would be a stalemate where the fighter which the better build or who throws out the most b2s or Ultimates. But against Pilaf he will have the superior Ultimate and B2s and one of those ultimates and a B2 will end Pilaf.
Ultimate Gohan - Costume 1 Done AI - Gohan
Attack +1 (1pt) Mirage (1pt) Rising Fighting Spirit (1pt) Dende's Healing (2pt) Serious (1pt) Combo Master (1pt)
Ultimate Gohan will be going up against Majuub as I predict that Majuub will be the opposing teams closer and by design I put Attack +1 which complements Ultimate Gohans along with Mirage which will allow him to dodge every single barrage attack if he dodges one which Majuub has been known to used in the past along with Rising Fighting Spirit will allow Ultimate Gohan to have a full bar of Ki which he could use to get a B2 off or save up to use an ultimate along with these potara I've also included serious which allow is melee damage to improve as he takes damage along with Combo master which will allow even more damage when he does combos and Dende’s Healing which will allow to him to take a beating while giving one in return. My reasoning behind this build is that I was expecting Majuub to be the closer as he typically is and with that in mid I decided the best counter would be a melee build and because Ultimate Gohan is gonna be a melee fighter he will get close to Majuub to the point where Majuub B2 Barrage will become very dangerous and the Potara Mirage will assist with dodging his B2 barrage and allow him to continue using his melee damage to defeat him in battle.
In a choice that shocked the world, we chose Havok as coach for the Gohans. That said, we would not ahve chosen him if we felt he was not up to the task. His builds show a lot of promise and we look forward to seeing what he can do with the team.
Again, congrats to both of you! mazel tov. You may now kiss the team banner. I need sleep.
