This time, we had two coaching applications to go though. The builds are below:
Ascension Fasha [Broly AI]:
[2] Defense +2 [4] Eternal Life [1] Serious!
Android 18 [Frieza AI]:
[1] Attack +2/ Defense -1 [2] Kibito's Secert Art [1] Serious! [1] Savior [1] Light Body [1] Quick Fast Attack
Saiyawoman [Frieza AI]:
[1] Super +1 [1] Savior [1] Indignation! [2] Kibito's Secert Art [2] Launch's Support
Arale [Tien AI]:
[1] Super up +2/Ki -1 [2] Tension Up [1] Indignation! [1] Quick Fast Attack [2] Indomitable Fighting Spirit
Pan [Frieza AI]:
[1] Ki +1 [2] Launch's Support [1] Indignation! [2] Power of Rage [1] Fighting Spirit
Explanations:
Looking at this proposed team, I think the best possible starter on the team will be Teen Gohan or Chiaotzu. The other's looking at there build's from last season, I believe Tambourine will be on a super plus build, Majuub on his ki plus build, Chiaotzu on his Melee build and Pilaf with his super plus build. The challenge of choosing what order the rest of team is going to be hard because there are many variations that could be sent out, but If I had to guess the best options of what place they would start given their tendencies from last season it would be:
Chiaotzu Attack +1 (1) Quick Fast Attack (1) Exquisite Skill (1) Serious! (1) Rising Fighting Spirit (1) Dende's Healing (2) AI - Trunks
Of all the characters of the enemy team and going by last season, I believe the frist one up will be Chiaotzu. Chatzou is a bit of a weird character but it is important to remember that Chiaotzu is a very quick opponent that tends to be very melee heavy character that likes to use his paralyze b1 and with a low cost B2. I would have to say Chiaotzu is probably weakest member of the enemy so I decided to pick Pan which is arguably our weakest member. She may not be able to deal the best damage as the other's on the team, but I like this match up she can hold her own. So I decided to give Pan an Ki + with potaras paired with that to support her to hopefully spam her B2's combined with her good melee to hopefully win or at least go even vs Chiaotzu.
Teen Gohan Defence +3 Attack -1 (2pt) Power of Rage (2pt) Dende’s Healing (2pt) Saviour (1pt) AI - Frieza
Next up I'm expect Teen Gohan second with his tank build. While Teen Gohan might not be a ultimate spammer anymore since he's been downgraded to SS1 but he still a dangrious player as tank. Teen Gohan's still has great damage potential even with hes defense build and the defense negatives he get's from being in SSJ. He has great all round player with high combos in melee with good B2's and max power B1 as well as if he decides to tranform in SSJ2, then he is really hard to stop. Teen Gohan is my highest priority of this team because he is shown to do large spike-damage through supers and ultimates. I want to make sure that he dies as soon as possible to give us the best chance of winning. To make sure I can do that I will choose to use Fasha in this match up. I decided to give Fasha her tried and true build with defense plus and eternal life that keeps her in the game to do as much damage as possible.
Tambourine AI - Goku (1) Savior (2) Launch Support (1) Super +1 (2) Power of Rage (1) Active Heart
Tambourine is a huge threat and an good aggressive fighter that can use ether an defensive or super plus build. I am assuming they will use the same builds they were using durning seeason 6, which they mostly use the super + build. Tambourine's tendency is melee heavy character that loves to jump back after melee combo's and use his B2's. He is generally a tough match up vs any character on this team and can easily outlast anyone with hes damage so it is hard to choose the right matchup for this fight. If I had to choose a good match up for this fight, I would choose 18 to be an good matchup for Tambourine. For 18 I decided to give her super + build with savior and kibito's secert art to hopefully use her utlimate's or her b2's along side her good melee to go toe to toe with Tambourine.
Pilaf Super +2, Ki -1 (1) Fighting Spirit (1) Indignation (1) Savior (1) High Tension (3) AI - Krillin AI
My next predection will be Pilaf coming up next. Pilaf is a known heavy B2'er that likes to come in with savior to spam, but he very weak in terms of melee. He is andriod with high tension to keep up the pressure on the last two players. For this match up I decided to pick Arale. She has good damage and put high pressure melee on Pilaf as well as her B2's with ping and rock throw so it should be a easy match up for her.
Majuub - Tien AI Ki Power +2 Super -1(1) Indignation! (1) Quick Fast Attack (1) Fighting Spirit (1) Light Body (1) Dende's Healing (2)
Last but not least it will be Majuub as the anchor. He is one of the best spammer in the league and uses this spam capability to lock his opponents down to kill them as well if you try to get close to him he has decenet melee. He usually uses he ki plus to also spam hes B2's and ultimate's so he is hard to get to. I saved Sayiawoman for this last fight to try to keep pressure on him by her charging and spamming her B2's as well melee to shut down Majuub. Daxter Alright so first these are the builds of the characters in order of their appearance:
Fasha; Attack +2 Defense -1 Master Strike Serious! Dende's Healing Power of Rage Broly AI
Pan; Super +1 Indignation! Quick Charge Power of Rage Savior Light Body Krillin AI
Great Saiyaman 2; Ki Power +2 Super -1 Fighting Spirit! Dende's Healing Launch's Support Hatred of Saiyans Tien AI
Android 18; Defense +2 Attack -1 Eternal Life Latent Energy! Serious! Trunks AI
Arale; Super +2 Ki Power -1 Indignation! Savior Light Body Dragon Power Goku AI
So before I go into the explanations, I would like to explain my general plan for characters. There are five roles: B2 Spam(Use a lot of B2s), B2 Power(Use Strong B2s), Melee(Focus on attacks without the use of energy), Tank(Soaks up damage with high defense), and Generic(Average at everything). The ideal order is Melee, Generic, B2 Spam, Tank, B2 Power and that is the order used here. The character's roles will be displayed along with a hopefully clear understanding of the customization.
Fasha(Melee); The attack boost is for the close-range melee for some added damage. Master Strike continues to emphasize this attack power. Serious does the same increasing her attack as the fight progresses. Dende's Healing is for damage mitigation since she will be so close. That will help her to last a little longer in order to chip away more health or tag when the time is right...preferably both. Power of Rage is the obscure potara just in case she gets into clashes due to close range fighting or encounters adversity from using her ultimate. Broly AI is to emphasize her melee and to keep her aggressive since I saw that was a problem last season. Melee is good to start with since they do not need energy and she will not start with full energy. The hope is for quick and powerful melee to build a commanding lead.
Pan(Generic); Pan has been a problem for sure and is not consistent so the Super boost and Indignation! are just there to increase my stat of choice. Quick Charge is in place to help her with any Kamehamehas she decides to use since she seems to hold them for too long. Power of Rage is to help her connect with Gill Missile and Maiden's Rage. Savior is there to help her try and get an upper hand on her opponent from the start. Also with the super bonuses, a connecting Ultimate can be deadly. Light Body is my obscure potara because of Saiyan Soul's long animation! Hopefully it will help. The Krillin AI will hopefully have her doing a lot of B2s which would work out well with this build for her. Generic characters are just there to see what is going on in the fight. Who knows what could be happening at this point, so this role just helps to keep your team on track in these unsure times with no apparent weaknesses.
Great Saiyaman 2(B2 Spam); The Ki bonus and Fighting Spirit! are there to help with the potential spamming. I like spammers to stick around for a while, so Dende's Healing helps with that. I really enjoyed seeing Great Saiyaman 2 spam last season and it was successful, so Launch's Support and Hatred of Saiyans are there to help keep up the consistency of the spamming. Hopefully, the Tien AI will allow her to continue to charge up to Max Power and allow her to stay close so that she can connect with her B2s. B2 Spam is there to solidify a lead or catch back up to the other team with quick damage. Low cost B2s are a must and Great Saiyaman 2 has been doing a great job with this and won the role here.
Android 18(Tank); Defense is there...for the defense. She needs a lot for this role. That is also why she got the coveted Eternal Life for longevity...she needs to be in for a while. If she sticks around, then the potential of Latent Energy can be used. Serious is there just to help out her attacks since she will not be able to keep a good distance since she is an android. That will make melee important. The Trunks AI is to encourage her melee and that combined with her build will hopefully keep her around for a while. The tank is here to avoid last minute comebacks. They stop the desperation moves with longevity and hopefully secure enough time for the rest of the team to rest...if they decided to play the game right and tag anyway. Arale would have been perfect, but she cannot have Eternal Life so Android 18 has to be this role.
Arale(B2 Power); This is the end of the line-up so power is key here. The Super Bonus is for power, Indignation is also for power in case the fight drags out, and Savior is to get a strong and devastating start and completely unfair advantage if she has the option to tag. With her powerful B1s, Light Body will help them to occur. Dragon Power is for her close-range combat since she is an android. I noticed a lot of clashes with her and she has a Rush Ultimate, so Dragon Power would help that to connect. The Goku AI will keep her close for her melee and with her B2s not being good from long distances, hopefully this AI will help those to connect as well. As you can see, there is not much to the B2 Power role. They are there to end the fight and fast! No safety net, no gimmicks, just have a lot of potential damage output and hope that they can deliver on some of it(You have to have a role that is fun to watch and less tactical). But Arale is ridiculously strong so I feel she can fit this role well.
There is no telling what the other team will use via order or builds, so my analysis of them will be brief:
Majuub; He is known to be a spammer and I have seen him open matches from time to time. Either way, I would expect him to spam and Fasha would be a good match for him if he opens. Pan would not do much against him due to his power and speed. Great Saiyaman 2 could win if she stays close, if she does not, Majuub will crush her. Android 18 might be able to tank the damage from him making her a good match-up for him. Arale would be able to do a lot of damage, but unless she had exceptional melee, Majuub would outlast her. Essentially, everyone has a fair shot with him except Pan but I would hope for Fasha or Android 18 to face him.
Chiaotzu; He has fast melee and quick B2s. I could see him opening as well or being midway through the match. Fasha could beat him easily if she remains aggressive. Pan my stand a fair shot if she remains consistent. Great Saiyaman 2 could overwhelm him with her speed. Android 18 would be able to outlast him. And of course, Arale could out damage him. Everyone would have a good match-up with him, but Arale would be the best match since she can deal with him in the simplest terms.
Teen Gohan; Nobody told me in my last tryout which Teen Gohan this is, so I will still assume it is the base form of him. In that case, he spams and has a high damage output. I could him starting, but with the damage output I think he will be towards the end of the lineup. Fasha would have so trouble if he kept his distance. Pan would be the safest match-up since she could damage him and would be able to soak up some of his damage in the process. Great Saiyaman 2 would also need to stay close like Fasha in order to have a chance. Android 18 is a tank, so she would be best for him by soaking up his damage. Arale would not really be good since his speed might become too much for her. As a result, Android 18 damaging him while mitigating his damage seems like the best match-up for him.
Tambourine; Tambourine is a well-rounded character. So I see him towards the end of the lineup. Fasha would not be too effective since Tambourine has good melee. He is too well-rounded for Pan to stand a chance. But with her speed, Great Saiyaman 2 would be perfect to spam him into oblivion. Android 18 would be a fair match-up but could be overwhelmed. And Arale's moves would have a hard time connecting against him. So I would hope for Great Saiyaman 2 to fight and overwhelm him.
Pilaf; Once again, I will assume that this is Pilaf in his base form. He would probably be in the middle of the lineup since he is not exceptional at any one fighting aspect. He does not specialize in anything to my knowledge which means that Pan will be the ideal match-up. Fasha staying aggressive would crush him. Pan is generic so she is perfect for her build to take him. It should be an even match which is a dream come true when dealing with Pan. Great Saiyaman 2 would not have a lot of time to charge with Pilaf being a robot and aggressive. Android 18 would be able to outlast him easily as long as he does not transform and gain access to the dreaded Gatling Gun. Arale would be good since she is a robot as well and has strong melee and B2s. But this is Pan's best match-up by far so I would hope for her to fight him.
So that concludes my tryout for the coach of the Valkyries. Good luck to all of the other applicants! This was a lot more serious than my last tryout since nobody had anything positive to say about it. But I am sure that the similarities of my two applications are apparent. In any case, hopefully this tryout was better and let the best person for the job win!
First off, I would like to say both of these applications were very close. However, after much debate, in the end we decided that Daxter edged out Ascension. So, congratulations to our new Valkyries coach, Daxter!
