Hello everyone!!! It has been far too long since the end of season 6, but we are back in action and have a lot of changes to go over! I'm going to jump right in: Fist and foremost, The league is moving to a once a year model. The pre-season will start on the first week of January and the season will run through June-ish. This might seem bad to some, but the truth is that it will help keep the league fresh and fun. All League all the time tends to burn people out. Knowing exactly when the new season will start each year will give people time to unwind and refresh for a new season. Now on to the first of two BIG changes for season 7. We have been using a trainer program called Sparkling!x3j for a while to allow us to use the portara we need to for a few season now. It has an interesting feature that allows us to increase the AI even higher than the original game can. We have held off on using this until we could test it thoroughly. We have tested the hell out of it and now feel it is something worth trying for season 7. What does that mean? A lot actually. Since the matches are all Com vs COM, the difficulty level determines how derpy or good players are. Our testing shows that this higher difficulty level makes players a lot more competent. Melee is a bit more prominent and players are better skilled at countering and combos. That's not to say B2s are gone, they are still used just as much. It's just that players seem to handle melee better over all. B1 also see a lot more use, and players are better at following up after stuns or solar flares. There is a lot less derping when it comes to standing there and eating a B2 for no reason or just sitting there wondering what to do next while your opponent charges an ultimate. Again, it's not that it never happens, it just happens less. Most interestingly, this new difficulty seems to have a greater effect on weaker players than stronger ones. Here is our best theory as to why: The top players in the league were already very consistent, while the worst players just derperd a lot. That means that this new difficulty level has less effect on the stronger players who already performed at a high level. This has the effect of bringing more balance to the league. We are not suggesting that Hercule is not going to be just as good as Nam or Kid Buu. We are saying that our testing shows that he will be closer to them. We ran some tests where we took the bottom 4 players of season 6 and pit them against the top 4 players of season 6, with their appropriate builds and placement. The results were impressive. The top four usually won, but it was never a blow out and the bottom four generally held their own. What this means is that teams that had a few great players and a few horrible players will now have a few great players and a few decent to good players. Smart teams can use this to change the entire power balance of the league. This new difficulty level is not without it's fair share of limitations though. There are two very big issues that must be pointed out. The first is that tagging out is now very rare. Most people fight until they die and the next person comes in. The up side to this, is that there are almost never any line up changes. Teams can now choose who comes out when and be fairly confident that order will be maintained. The lack of tagging will make some people sad, and we agree. It was fun to watch and saved a lot of matches. On the other hand, it also gave teams that tagged out a lot, an advantage over teams that did not. Considering that who tags and when is completely out of the control of the coaches and supporters, it may not be such a bad thing that this area is now more balanced. It will also allow teams to put more strategy into who comes out when so they can try to counter other teams. The second limitation to go over is a big one. As I said above, B1s are used a lot more, including healing B1s. This is highly depended on the AI used, but any teams with healing B1 moves should know that the following restrictions apply... The normal bans of Power Body, Spiritual Control, Dragon Spirit, Secret Measures, Kibito's Secret Art, Dragon Heart, Dragon Beat, Yajirobe AI, Ginyu AI, Chiaotzu AI still apply. But we are also banning Light Body due the the fact that instead of attempting a healing B1 a couple of times in a season, they attempt them about once a match. In addition, any team that has a healing B1 player in the match is restricted from eternal life on any player (much like teams with healing transformations) Dende's healing is still allowed for now. Also keep in mind that we are still testing out different AI and may have to restrict you from more down the line. Please understand this is not an attempt to limit you, but an attempt to keep things fair. ALSO BLADES, YAJIROBE IS LIMITED TO EITHER USING TIEN OR FREEZA AI! I'm sorry, I know that is a really harsh penalty, but there is no other way. On every single other AI, he tries to use senzu bean way too often. Fear not... you should see him on these AI! And BUUS, YOU WILL BE FORCED TO USE GOHAN BUU! I'm sorry, but the fact that you guys would be able to have three healing B1s in at the same time is just a bit too much healing on this AI. Especially since every healing character tends to want to use their healing b1 around once a match, instead of maybe twice a season. We do not have any other new limitations at this time, but keep in mind that this new difficulty is like a soft reset for the league. It is going to take a lot of fine tuning so bare with us if we have to make changes. rest assured we will fully explain any new restriction or changes added so you understand them. This soft reset also applies to every team. Under this new difficulty, you can not be sure exactly how your players will act. You old builds might still work, but they might now be suited for completely different builds. Testers are now going to start using this new difficulty for any requested tests. My advice is to explore everything and see what works for your team now. You have a lot of time before the pre-season. Use it well!!!! Now on to the second big change for season 7 and this one should excite a lot of you! We are borrowing a concept form the Naruto League and implementing free agents. In addition to the five people who are on your team, everyone will be getting a sixth player THAT DOES NOT NEED TO FIT YOUR THEME! Thus the "Free Agent" term. Here is how it will work: Matches will still be 4 on 4 and rotations will still be the same. Of the 6 people on your team, you will choose one of them to be inactive. This means they are not part of the line up or rotations. Once every three weeks, you can choose to bring them in off the bench to replace one of your active people. They will take over all necessary rotations and the replaced player will become inactive. This should give teams a lot more options for building a team they really want, and let us see some people in the league we have never seen before. IMPORTANT!!!! All teams have one month from now to determine their 5 man roster (not including the free agent) Usually, we give you up until the first match of the season, but now we need to know who is available for free agents and in order to do that, you need to have your 5 man team locked down. So get to testing!!! If you have not chosen your five man team by the dead line of October 31, you will be keeping the same roster from season 6. The Draft So, I hear you saying, how will we choose our free agent? Well, we intend for you all to bid on them. Not just on them, but you will be bidding on your music, your map, and your free agent. That's right, all music and maps are being reset and will be bid on. Each team starts our with 30 Zeni plus one zeni for every loss you have in season 6. This means teams that did worse will have a little more bidding power to help balance them out. The teams Zeni amount is as follows: Super Saiyans 34 Androids 35 Earth's Defenders 35 Cold 36 Blades 36 Buus 36 Rugrats 37 Gohans 37 Valkyries 37 Majins 37 Dragonball Warriors 38 Saiyans 39 Namek 39 Muscle 39 Ginyu 42 Derp 43 From October 18th to October 24th, you will all bid on your teams music. From October 25th to October 31st you will all bid on your maps. Then each week in November, we will release 5 new free agents for bidding. You will know all possible free agents in advance, but you will not know who will be in each group. It will be up to you and your fellow team mates to manage your Zeni to get who you want. I will be running each free agent through a test to determine an overall ranking of their quality without builds. From Rank A-E. Each week, we will release one of each rank. You will not know who is what rank until they are up for bidding so be careful! If you have not won a bid on a free agent by the end of November, you will be randomly assigned one from those that are left (and I do mean randomly). _________________________________ So, I know this is a lot to process!!! However, i think it is going to be an amazing season 7! Hell, forget about season 7, you have more than enough work to do even before then! Get with your teams and start planning now! You will need every second! Feel free to ask any questions here and we will do our best to answer them! |

So, can I make sure I get this one part? Let's use Namek this time. So, let's say my roster is Tammy, KP, EP, LP, Nail, and Slug as Free Agent. If in week 1 I decide EP is bad, and I want Slug in, that means that Slug inherits all of EP's benches? And then, if I decide that LP isn't doing well (after 3 weeks), I can put LP off, and bring EP back in. Would this mean that EP gets all of his Benches back, and Slug gets LP's benches? OR, does Slug keep the benches he got from EP, and EP get all of LP's benches? Edited by Zal, Oct 7 2015, 06:24 PM.

EP would get his benches back from before slug swapped plus any that slug obtained when he was in EP's place. Then Slug would then lose all of the benches, and inherit all of LP's benches. |

When Slug comes in, he would take whatever benches EP had up to that point. Then if you swap out LP later on, EP would get whatever benches he originally had PLUS whatever extra benches Slug picked up in that time, and Slug would then take on the number of benches LP had up to that point. So if you benched EP once in the first three weeks, Slug would come in and take that bench. Then after the next three weeks, say youve benched Slug once and LP has had all three benches, when you take LP out Slug takes over those three benches, and EP gets the two benches from the one he did and the one Slug accrued in his place. That make it any more clear? Or what he said ^^^

Errr, sorta... So, let's say it's week 1, and EP is set up to be benched in week 2, 4, and 6. But, I bring Slug in, Slug would get the benches that EP was going to have in week 2, 4, and 6? Also, let's jump ahead, let's say after week 6 we see LP doing poorly, so we put LP out and bring EP in week 7. Would this mean that Slug gets all of the benches that LP has claimed regardless of whether they have happened or not, and EP gets his 3 benches that already happened back? Or does EP have to get ANOTHER 3 benches and just get his name pasted over the 3 that Slug had used in weeks 2, 4, and 6? |

If Slug comes in for EP, he would essentially now be EP, so he would take whatever benches EP had already, and then take on whatever rotations you had planned for EP from then on until you make another change to your five man team, like taking out LP. Then if LP goes out and EP comes back, Slug would take LPs bench count, regardless of whether or not he had been benched so far or not. EP then takes the bench count of whatever Slug did in his place plus whatever he originally had, so if the week 2, 4, and 6 benches went ahead as planned then EP would now have a bench count of three, and Slugs bench count would be zero, since LP had not been benched and Slug is now acting as LP. To take it one step further, if later on you again decide to take EP out, Slug would have a bench count of three again and would therefore have to remain in for the remainder of the season, unless you did any further swaps after that. Edit: Dammit Burn, stop that! Also, theres an official Skype chat?

BUT I WANNA HEELP! D: Yeah, its the one that Darky has used in the past for Naruto League. But I eventually took it over and have been slowly trying to clean it up/keep it good so that I can open it up to more peeps. The plan was eventually to allow peeps that follow the RIFTS/Ardenfell/Three Galaxies RPs to be in, but that is a while off. If you guys want me to add you, just add "Burnarator" in skype with the message "I want to be in the Squee's Lair chat" Edited by Burnarator, Oct 7 2015, 07:24 PM.

Ah thanks everyone! So essentially only the free agent can take benches from other characters. Whoever is sitting out determines the benches the free agent has and if that inactive player returns, then they receive all of the total benches the free agent had credited to their name regardless of the benches being prior to or during the inactivity. If all that is correct, then I get it and it should indeed balance out perfectly fine like Geom said. It will just require paying extra attention when swapping inactive players.

Hyeah basically. Zzbuzz made a really good point when he said "[2:21:09 PM] zzBuzz22: so basically the FA takes the benches of whoever is put as "Inactive"" if you guys want to think of it that way. |

Yeah that makes since if you also add that the inactive player gets the benches returned to their name if they come back in as well. And also that the free agent themselves do not need to be benched three times. They are simply placeholders for whoever is inactive if they themselves are active from what I am gathering. |
