This time we had five applicants. Their builds are below. I also want to apologize for the late-ish announcement because Squee has been under the weather as of late and we were waiting for his input. Badlogic My builds for the Gohans Coach Tryouts Numbers are the order of the team lineup, also if any of these are ileagal in anyway please let me know and ill make the necessary Changes to them. Also Note Line-up reasonings are at the very bottom. also sorry if the text placements look wierd i wrote all my notes and such in notepad and had to Manually fix it a bit. #1.Future Gohan Base Form - Piccolo A.I 1 - Unleash Ki 1 - latent energy 1 - Master Strike 2 - Defense +3 Attack -1 2 - Dende's Healing Reasoning - My Idea is for Future Gohan to start in Base form because while in Super Saiyan gives him a boost to his attack it also lowers his Defense, so While he can still turn into Super Saiyan later starting in base form will add to his defense. Also while in baseform he has his Full power Charge which costs only 1 blast gauge and gives him full energy bars and no penalty which could be very good depending how the A.I Uses it. He is Also on a Defense build with some attack that i came up with, Master Strike lowers b2's but gives him some boosts to Rush and Smash attacks however its mostly defensive because The possiblilities of facing either Tambourine or Majuub as a starter are High and being able to take hits from a Majuub spam or Tambourine having a Defense build and tends to use Samusan alot, also adding piccolo A.I should help because even though its a defensive A.I its also good when it comes to melee and should help the build even more so. #2.Kid Gohan - Trunks A.I 1 - Attack +2 defense -1 1 - Serious 1 - Quick Fast Attack 2 - Power of Rage 2 - Indomitable Fighting Spirit Reasoning - Kid Gohan has always been pretty good with Melee and has done well with rush attacks before so focusing on his Rush attacks could help alot in case he gets matched up with Tambourine, pilaf or even Ciaotzu since during the previous season they have all shown to use rush attacks a fair amount of times, His melee is will also do well because of indomitable fighting spirit being able to give energy while in melee range and with Trunks A.I his Rush Attacks and Melee should be more effective. #3.Saiyaman - Tien A.I 1 - Super +2 Ki-1 1 - Indignation 1 - Savior 1 - Battle Control 1 - Light Body 2 - Kibito's Secret Art Reasoning - This is a Super Build on Saiyaman because Saiyaman has good B2's and to increase them be even more effective will be better, My Idea with Battle Control is that his Tag meter will fill up faster and that maybe he will tag out more often in which case have his savior used again if possible and to also have Kibito's Secret Art to be more effective and with tien A.I he has a better chance of pulling off his Ultimatethe Idea with Light Body is because of his B1's being both poses im hoping that if he tries to use them, that Ki blasts wont interrupt him and he might be able to pull them off #4.Teen Gohan SS1 - Vegeta A.I 1 - Ki+2 Super-1 1 - Fighting Spirit 2 - Rush Blast (2) 3 - High Tension Reasoning - A Spam Build for Teen Gohan my hopes are that with Vegeta A.I Teen Gohan will be using alot of B2's and to keep up with in terms of energy considering Teen Gohan might Face anyone on the opposing team Including Majuub who is also a big Spammer not to mention the other Teen Gohan who could either be another Spammer build or Super B2 build As for Rush Blast (2) My thinking is that hitting people with Rush Blasts usually is a good way to connect with B2's so (as i read it that is) with Rush Blasts (2) it will speed the Rush blasts and possibly make it so the rush blasts connect faster as well as help to connect with more B2's but its more of a theory than anything but worth trying #5.Ultimate Gohan - Broly A.I 1 - Attack +1 1 - Combo Master 1 - Active Heart 4 - Power Body Reasoning - My reasoning is that Ultimate Gohan is pretty good with Melee so instead of going into defense or supers I decided to Focus on his attack more by giving him power body so that he cant get stunned while in melee or at the very least stunned as much, with power body on Combo master can work better and with active heart Ultimate Gohan can get his energy back without having to charge and is able to keep the opposing team member from being able to charge as well, and with Broly A.I Ultimate Gohan can focus on Staying close to the enemy and lock them down with melee, at least thats the hope LINEUP REASONING - My lineup is the way it is because of tambourine,Majuub or Chiaotzu could be a Starter, more worried for Tambourine or Majuub but Chiaotzu could also be a dangerous character which is why i have Future gohan in base form and on a defensive Build to counter the probable Spam of Majuub, the defense build and Samusans of Tambourine, and the B2/melee build of chiaotzu Now they might not be on those types of builds but those are the most common ways those characters have been built in past seasons so its a gamble but one I can take with Relative ease, as For Kid Gohan ive put him on a Rush melee build and put him in the #2 slot because The off Chance that he goes against Tambourine Pilaf or Chiaotzu he would have an advantage when it came to rushes since those characters often rush, and if he doesnt end up fighting any of them his melee should be good enough to deal with either majuub or Teen Gohan depending on what builds they are, as For Saiyaman Hes #3 so that he can possibly deal massive damage to whoever is currently out and possibly wounded by either Future Gohan or Kid Gohan other than that its a Super Build with focusing on b1's with Kibito's Secret Art and LightBody,#4 is Teen Gohan in SS1(mostly cause i wasnt sure if i was alowed to start in ss2) who is on a Spam build with incredibly high amount of Charging power so that he can just constantly keep throwing out B2's and the added potara Rush blasts (2) to have whoever is out get pelted with fast moving Ki blasts and get stunned long enough to get hit by Teen Gohans B2's,I made him a spam build mostly in case Majuub was on a spam build also or if the other teen gohan was on a spam or Super build, and #5 is Ultimate Gohan he is on the end of my lineup because depending on whos left and depending how well these builds work he might not even need to come out but if he does He should be able to overwhelm his oppenent/s in melee thanks to Power body, keeping him from being stunned by melee attacks for a time and letting him get his combos going hes not a particular counter anyone but he will give a hard time to whoever tries to melee fight him. Muje Hi! Here's my application/full build for the Team Gohan Coach tryouts! I'm going to be Frank here. Ok, ok, I'm not actually Frank. Frank's down there, with team Goku. Ugh. Team Goku. Ok, so anyway, most of the players on this mystery team are small: Majuub, Chiaotzu, Teen Gohan and of course Pilaf. Tabourine is kind of a wild card in that sense because he's big, but first let's get on to what I know you're all thinking: What does being small have to do with anything? So the way I see it, small people actually have an interesting dynamic to them. They can dodge more easily and because of that, can afford to be much more aggressive. Which will make Kid and Teen Gohan critical to victory. Let's talk about order first. 4 out of 5 of the opposing players start of small. It's safe to say one of them will take the field first. So Kid Gohan should be the first to take the field. He's small enough to be able to get some good hits on them while still being able to dodge a good number of them himself, which can even work if he's facing Tabourine. I'll leave Teen Gohan for last since not only is he small enough to face anyone, he can also go Super Saiyan, which makes him the final opponent. As for the other 3 players, I feel it best to give them 3 different functions in the match: 1) The Powerhouse - Fights aggressively when he needs to. Tries to go up to MAX POWER and is important to have after a hopefully powerful start by Kid Gohan. I chose Future Gohan for this, cause, well, Super Kamehameha. And, well, since I needed the other players elsewhere, Future Gohan was the only one left. ![]() 2) The Decoy - Very much there to waste the opponents' energy - Expert at dodging, charging and small blasts - I chose Great Saiyaman for this, cause, well, he's the Great Saiyaman. I'm still on Dragon Ball, but he seems to be a less-serious character (in terms of story), so he'd be perfect for the decoy. 3) The Close-Combat Fighter - There to fight the opponent with everything he's got. I chose Ultimate Gohan since his ultimate is a rush move. Hopefully, he'll be up against a big opponent (big Pilaf or Tabourine) and so his close-combat fighting style will come in handy. So, to recap, the order of the fighters are: Kid Gohan Future Gohan Great Saiyaman Ultimate Gohan Teen Gohan Now, onto the AIs. For Kid Gohan, I chose the Majin Buu AI as we want a strong, aggressive start. And what better way than by constantly attacking the opponent and not giving them the chance to attack? I've watched some of season 1, and a strong start is really important, and the best players at the start tend to be those who get the most hits in. For Future Gohan, I chose the... Gohan AI. We want him to fight when he gets to full power, and, ok, I thought about the other roles and only actually came up with the Powerhouse role after seeing how awesome the Gohan AI was. But he works well as a second player and so... Gohan AI! For Great Saiyaman, I chose the Yajirobe AI! It does exactly what I need the decoy to do. Avoid attacks and shoot blasts at the opponent! (What, were you expecting more?) For Ultimate Gohan, I chose the Trunks AI. It was a knock-up between this and the Tien AI, but the Tien AI I'm saving for last, plus, even though it's not completely close-combat, it fits Ultimate Gohan's Ultimate really well. And, finally, Teen Gohan. I pretty much said I'm using the Tien AI, so there's that. The last player needs to have exceptional offence and maybe even beat the final opponent with an ultimate, who knows? But it's aggressive and fun, and I think perfect for the final player. So, the AIs: Kid Gohan: Majin Buu AI Future Gohan: Gohan AI Great Saiyaman: Yajirobe AI Ultimate Gohan: Trunks AI Teen Gohan: Tien AI Now, finally, I'm not completely sure about how the potaras work, but I'll try my best. I'm pretty sure they follow the rules, but tell me if I made a mistake so I can correct it. I'll go in order again. First, Kid Gohan. Once again, it's important for him to act aggressive as the starter player, so, of course, I chose Attack +2, Defense -1 (1 point) as the first potara. Second is Combo Master (1 point). Once again, as the starter, it's important for Kid Gohan not allow his opponent to get any hits on him, and having combos do more damage is one way of doing that. I also chose Indomitable Fighting Spirit (2 points). Once again, speed is the key to a good starter, so having a quick recovery allows Kid Gohan to get some hits in while his opponent is still recovering. Quick Return (1 point) so that even if Kid Gohan falls unconscious, he can still get back to his barrage of attacks fairly quickly. Finally, I chose Essence of Sight (2 points). This was a tough one as it also had a negative effect, but I figured that being able to move without restriction was more important than doing more damage in this case, especially as I already have a plus attack potara. Next up, Future Gohan. First potara: Tension Up (2 points). He wants to get to MAX POWER, but not spend all his time running like Saiyaman. So he needs to charge while fighting. I also chose Dragon Power (3 points) so that he could still hold his own in clashes. Next, I chose Ki Power +1 (1 point), for obvious reasons, to get Future Gohan to MAX POWER quicker (I assume that's what Ki Power does :o). Finally, I chose Attack +1 (1 point) because, well, he is the powerhouse. Third is the Great Saiyaman. First, I chose Miracle Master (2 points). Afterimage helps with his tactic of avoiding close-combat confrontation. I also considered persistent threat, but decided that it wasn't worth it as blasts were critical to Saiyaman's strategy. Next is Dende's Healing (2 points). Let's play mind games with the opponent. Not only is it harder to attack him, but he gradually gets health back. Next we've got Latent Energy! (1 point) Yes, I'm being evil by increasing his defense more, but we're messing with the opponents head, so it's all in good faith really. I also chose Light Body (1 point) as it means even if the opponent attacks him, Saiyaman can stil run away and live to fight another day. Finally, I chose Mirage (1 point). More dodging, more escaping, more mind games, more evil. Fourth is Ultimate Gohan. Power of Rage (2 points). Specialising in close-combat, Ultimate Gohan's likely to be in a lot of clashes. So, what better way than to be better at clashes themselves? Next, Perfect Guard (2 points). Hopefully, as it's close-combat, Ultimate Gohan will try to block a lot. So this potara is incredibly important. Next we've got Quick Fast Attack (1 point) to increase close-combat attack and Master Strike (1 point). I doubt Ultimate Gohan is likely to use many throw attacks, so increasing the attack of the other close-combat attacks is critical. Finally, I chose Defense +1 (1 point) so that Ultimate Gohan could defend himself at least a bit. Finally, we've got Teen Gohan. So let's make an impression. Style of the Strong (4 points). We want stronger ultimates so that Teen Gohan can finish off the rest of the opponents. And MAX POWER will only help against the final enemies (hopefully the toughest if they save the best till last). Next we've got Serious! (1 point). I saw this in season 1 and it was a lot of fun. Since Teen Gohan is the last player on the field, he'll be the last health bar the opponent faces (unless we crush them). So, gaining attack as he loses health makes it a much more epic fight. Quick Charge (1 point) as his ultimate is a kamehameha move, which needs charging, so charging quicker is always helpful. Finally, I chose Indignation! (1 point) for stronger supers. Once again, Teen Gohan will be finishing, so his finishers are the key to winning. So, here is the full build order: Player: Kid Gohan AI: Majin Buu AI Potara 1: Attack +2, Defense -1 (1 point) Potara 2: Combo Master (1 point) Potara 3: Indomitable Fighting Spirit (2 points) Potara 4: Quick Return (1 point) Potara 5: Essence of Sight (2 points) Player: Future Gohan AI: Gohan AI Potara 1: Tension Up (2 points) Potara 2: Dragon Power (3 points) Potara 3: Ki Power +1 (1 point) Potara 4: Attack +1 (1 point) Player: Great Saiyaman AI: Yajirobe AI Potara 1: Miracle Master (2 points) Potara 2: Dende's Healing (2 points) Potara 3: Latent Energy! (1 point) Potara 4: Light Body (1 point) Potara 5: Mirage (1 point) Player: Ultimate Gohan AI: Trunks AI Potara 1: Power of Rage (2 points) Potara 2: Perfect Guard (2 points) Potara 3: Quick Fast Attack (1 point) Potara 4: Master Strike (1 point) Potara 5: Defense +1 (1 point) Player: Teen Gohan AI: Tien AI Potara 1: Style of the Strong (4 points) Potara 2: Serious! (1 point) Potara 3: Quick Charge (1 point) Potara 4: Indignation! (1 point) Well, that took a long time. If I become manager, will I need to just post the full builds or will I need to explain them like I did here? Also, sorry for the late PM. I've been working on it for... Long... Just call me the King of Last Minute. ![]() Also, uh... Do you know how long it normally takes to get the results back? I'm just curious. You probably get that question a lot and you don't have to answer. Finally, sorry for the really long PM. Have a good night (it's night here, I'm going to sleep now)! See ya! Enjoy! Weezy090 Hello Mr. Squee & Burnarator I am applying for the position of Gohans Cpt. and here is my predictions Tambourine Chioutzu Gohan Pilaf Majuub So I countered with this lineup Saiyaman Kid Gohan Future Gohan Ult. Gohan Teen Gohan The reason for this line up is (Ill go through it 1v1 by 1v1) Tambourine vs. Saiyaman- Tambourine is an obvious lead because while its true he didnt always lead in season 6 he lead almost every week in Season 5 so that was bout certain..So as for my counter I played Saiyaman because hes a solid character but not the end all be all and based of season 6s performances I believe that there about even in strenght so they should break even and it would save Ult. and Teen Gohans for the bigger threats. Chioutzu vs. Kid Gohan- Chioutzu is a logical second seat so they can save there big characters for later on in the match and still have a strong chance at carrying a lead, as hes better than Pilaf so as a counter I use Kid Gohan because kid gohan has high B1 potential in Afterimage strike and his max power B1 gives him a chance to do massive damage and avoid big B2s like Chou Makouhan and if he desides to use it his Rush Ultimate becomes useless due to Afterimage strike if its used right. Teen Gohan vs. Future Gohan- Ill admit this is a bit of a crazy choice sending my most inconsistent character in against the monstrous Teen Gohan, but ill explain by saying im a bit crazy too lol And it will save my strongest to finish off Teen Gohan and clean up the game as to where if i put Ult in this slot he might get taken out and then im down one of the best members of my team, so by saving them if Future can do 20-25K before dying then Ult. can come in and finish it with a burst rush and even the field only difference is I’d have my best characters and my opponent has there best and worst giving me a tad advantage late game even with the lack start i set up. Pilaf vs. Ult. Gohan I expect Ult. Gohan to hit the floor before pilaf and finish off teen gohan, this will use all his energy and i suspect a bar of health, but since pilaf is an artificial charger i plan to use launchs so ult douesnt waste too much time charging, but I still want a melee build to tear pilaf down faster, And Ult is conisitant and really strong as pilaf is consistantly even he doesnt shine nor does he drag his team down, so i believe these two should about ko eachother due to the prior battle ult had with teen gohan. Majuub vs. Teen Gohan Now heres the crucial game changing moment, I expect that atleast one member of the hyprid team will tag out and to prep for both a strong closer and consistant clean-up Teen Gohan SSJ2 is the obvious choice as he is the fastest and strongest meleer, as well as a 2 ki bar super kamehaha potential spam with his already fast charge rate, and his B2s are like Kid Gohan, Teen Gohan has limitless potential and would be a save bet to end the game as he single handedly slayed the Super Saiyans. Oh and of Course he has Father-Son Kamekameha and too specifically counter Majuub i would give him Mirage which makes both his volley and Lightning Arrow damn near useless, and Teen Gohan can easily out melee Majuub. Then as for clean-up id give him Dragon Spirit in hopes hed be able to use Unforgivable once or twice on top of his savior Builds are as follow- Saiyaman -Ginyu AI Eternal Life Def+2 Rising Fighting Spirit Kid Gohan -Yajirobe AI Spiritual Control Kibito Secret Arts Super+1 Light Body Future Gohan -Piccolo AI Def+2 Atk-1 Dendes Healing Serious! Master Throw Savior Mirage Ult Gohan -Krillin AI Atk+1 Launch Support Indignation! Dragon Power Teen Gohan -Tien AI Mirage Dragon Spirit Quick Fast Attack Savior Super+2 Ki-1 Light Body Blue Potara List- Def+2 Super+1 Def+2 Atk-1 Atk+1 Super+2 Ki-1 Yellow Potara List- Eternal Life (1) Rising Fighting Spirit (1) Spiritual Control (1) Kibito Secret Arts (1) Light Body (2) Dendes Healing (1) Serious (1) Master Throw (1) Mirage (2) Launch Support (1) Dragon Power (1) Quick Fast Attack (1) Savior (2) Dragon Spirit (1) My Reason For each Characters AI Why Saiyaman has Ginyu AI- I build Saiyaman to last for awhile and on the chance he does survive I want him to use his B1s to give him susceptible boosts in power and charge and the reason I chose Ginyu AI is its described to use stat boost B1s more favorablly and while Max power is cool I wouldnt want to cripple one of my slowest natural chargers with such a charge penalty so id prefer he use his b1 that boosts his stats instead. and Yajirobe AI likes Max Power B1s and Chioutzu is an unorthodox choice that i plan to test but dont expect incredible fruision from, Leaving (For now without testing Ginyu AI to be the most practical option available) Why does Kid Gohan Have Yajirobe AI- Ok, this may seem hypocritical sense i just said i was against Max Power B1s for Penalty Purposes but I believe Kid Gohan charges faster so he could make better work of his penalty than saiyaman and he also has afterimage strike so i build him full on b1 build and if the penalty hurts to bad Kid Gohan likes to tag out and come back in later (which would refill his blast stocks AND get rid of his penalty) Why does Future Gohan have Piccolo AI- From what ive gathered Piccolo AI is a Smart Defensive AI that likes to grab which (without any direct testing) seems like it would fit Future Gohan SSJ1 pretty well between his B1s being for Defensive tactics and his Grab being strong and a plant style which could lead to a potential string of grabs, Like Recoome or Garlic Jr. and if youve seen Muscles recent tests youll know that I Love a Grab build that works and Future Gohan has potential with it. But to answer the question your thinking “If you want a grab build why not just use Recoome AI?” Im glad you asked you see were going Defensive to survive Teen Gohans onslaught and Recoome AI from prior tests ive done loves offense to a fault it hardly ever makes a defensive play which would be fantastic against certain characters in the league but against someone like Teen Gohan you want to play smart and defensive. maybe he’ll Evil Barrier to protect against Father-Son Kamekameha. Why does Ult. Gohan have Krillin AI- Like Ive previously stated i have had no prior opportunity to request these AI tests to see which truely works well but From description and how there ran on other characters, Krillin AI seems to be a good balance of Melee and B2s with a tendency to hang back when not attacking...That may seem like a tactical error but Im mentally eliminating the hang back as ive placed him against pilaf who is an artifical charger and has no reason to hang back himself and will stay in Gohans face so Ult. would be reliant on Melee and then a quick fired b2 from time to time, and for these reasons I coulded find a more balanced AI Why does Teen Gohan have Tien AI- Hit the ground Ultimate, Melee for a bit knock his opponent back either Charge or Unforgivable fire another Ultimate Reason for Builds- Saiyaman- Eternal Life, Def+2, Rising Fighting Spirit I build him for the purpose of outlasting Tambourine, and throwing out a Justice Slash here and there of course, but his only true purpose is survive and do as much as he can. Eternal life helps by healing him and if Tambourine has dendes healing it would regen Saiyaman twice as fast aka twice the staying power. Kid Gohan- Spiritual Control, Kibito Secret Arts, Light Body, Super+1 The purpose of this build is to blow chioutzu away before he can do anything and if he does get something in Gohan can use Afterimage strike at any moment, The biggest question I expect you’ll have is why no saviour the answer is simple the B1 build took 5 points and then i wanted to make any b2 he uses strong so i threw on Super+1 and then it came down to Saviour or Light Body and considering how B1 heavy Kid Gohan is Light Body is a safer choice as it makes Ki blasts bounce off and not interupt my Max power B1, and besides since he comes in with max blast stocks and full energy he can easily charge up to max power, so saviour was given to someone else instead Future Gohan- Dendes Healing, Serious, Master Throw, Saviour, Mirage Def+2 Atk-1 This’ll sound dumb but this build is Tailored to confront Teen Gohan, how you ask well firstly Future will hit the field and either Ultimate or use a max power B2 which would be devastating and Teen Gohan isnt known for carrying healing and if he does its just dendes healing. Secondly he has one of the strongest volleys in the league, so Mirage was a necessity, as for the rest of the build its a tanky Thrower who should be able to get in close and keep him from charging to much but due to his AI will have the intellect to back off if he gets in danger, not to mention his throw is about a 3500 plant b2 and characters who “Plant” like to due so in rows not just 1 here 1 there so he could rack up 10,500 damage in a matter of seconds. Oh lets not forget the chance of Evil Barrier saving him from a ather Son Kamekameha. Ult. Gohan- Atk+1, Launch Support, Dragon Power, Indignation! Hes already an all around good character so i figured make him offensive to counter Pilafs Defensive hang back and b2 style, and he should win any class even against Teen Gohan due to his Dragon Power giving him +3 to clashes. Besides that i just wanted him to be a late game power house who would finish Teen Gohan and blow pilaf away before falling, Teen Gohan- Mirage, Quick Fast Attack, Savior, Dragon Spirit, Super+2 Ki-1, Light Body Ok well Teen Gohan is against Majuub by favor, so Mirage is definitely going on him to get out of Majuubs scary 2 bar volley b2 and the even scarier lightning arrow...with them basically useless at this point, Majuub becomes pure melee since he doesnt like Chocolate beam very much and thats where hes outclassed SSJ2 Teen Gohan has the 2nd fastest melee in the league only after Burter, and has the 3rd most powerful after #16 and Kid Buu. So he can out melee him easily and for extra damage Quick Fast Attack as his blast stocks go up faster (due to Dragon Spirit) then knock him away and Unforgivable Father-Son, however im relying on Teen gohan for Majuub and any tag outs that need to be cleaned up lol This Concludes my builds for The Gohans coach tryout now quickly before i leave id like to state a few changes id like to see- SSJ1 Teen Gohan changes back to SSJ2 Teen Gohan (SSJ2 is just a monster) SSJ1 Future Gohan reverts to Base Form (SSJ1 is far to inconsistant kinda like mid goku but reversed lol) Kid Gohan is compared to Grandpa Gohan and potentially dropped (Kid has potential but i feel Grandpa Gohan may have more Thank you sirs that concludes my Resume, I look forward to your decision ![]() Joey If I was facing The Gohans my biggest concerns would be Ultimate Gohan and Teen Gohan. UG and Teen started 4 times each last season which is the 2nd most on The Gohans behind Saiyaman. I wouldn’t think Saiyaman starts, though, because he is a bad match against Majuub and Teen. Majuub’s the best on their team to face Teen because he could out spam him, but their Teen is the best to face UG because he can shut down the melee with B2’s. And Teen vs Teen shouldn’t be one sided, at least on paper. So Teen is the safest starter for this team. I think he’ll have a tank build instead of a spam build because Super Masenko already does 8,000 damage without a boost for only 2 ki bars. With Defence +3 Attack -1 he can soak up moves and take significantly less damage while doing good amounts of damage with Super Masenko, especially as he loses health because of Latent Energy increasing his defence. He has Dende’s Healing to heal him so he can stay in longer and he has Power of Rage so he can win clashes which will probably happen often because of his rush B2. With the ai change/increase, tagging is now a rarity and the orders usually stay how they were originally put. This means I can predict who my opponent will have after their starter and plan out my whole lineup. So, next I think my opponent would be Tambourine with his usual B2/Ki focused build because he is good in the middle of the lineup and utilizes both super and melee well. Tambourine likes to get close for melee then hop back and use a short range B2 a lot so he has savior to do a big melee combo or use a max power B2 as soon as he comes in. He has Active Heart so he gains Ki during the melee combo to use the B2 after and the Super +2 Ki -1 to make it stronger. Launch Support is there to lessen the -1 Ki and to help Tambourine charge when he does charge. Power of Rage is there so he wins clashes. Pilaf is 3rd because he can strengthen their lead or catch his team up quickly after Tambourine if necessary with savior/an ultimate. He has High Tension so his ki that fills up on its own (as an android) does so fast and he has fighting spirit so it happens even faster as he loses health. Pilaf has Super +1 to make his B2’s and Ultimate stronger and indignation helps it do that as he loses health. Then I think Chiaotzu because UG is likely at the very beginning facing Teen or he’s at the end of The Gohan’s lineup where Chiaotzu can face him. Chiaotzu is a very quick melee fighter with a good combination of B1’s and B2’s. He can use his stun B1 and rack up damage with his boosted melee and his 2 ki bar B2 Dodon Ray while my team can’t move to fight back. Chiaotzu has Attack +1 to boost his melee and Serious to boost it more as his health decreases. He has Exquisite Skill to make his stun B1 last longer. Chiaotzu has Quick Fast Attack to gain more ki while in a melee combo and if he stuns you he can hit you enough to get the 2 ki bars necessary to use a Dodon Ray. Ultimate Gohan uses Power Body often, so Chiaotzu has Draconic Aura because he is the only melee focused fighter on this team and it increases his stun so Chiaotzu can hit UG normally. Finally, this team would have Majuub as their closer because he is one of the best in the league and the best spammer so he can finish the game if they’re leading or potentially catch up his team and win. Majuub has Launch Support so his charge rate is faster and he has Light Body so he can charge without being interrupted by energy balls. He has Serious and Indignation so his melee and supers do more damage as he loses health. Majuub has Hatred of Saiyans so when he isn’t charging, his ki will still rise and he has quick fast attack so his ki rises while he does melee. Teen Gohan Super Saiyan 1 Power of Rage (2pt) Defence +3 Attack -1 (2pt) Dende’s Healing (2pt) Latent Energy (1pt) Frieza AI Tambourine Savior (1pt) Launch Support (2pt) Super +2 Ki -1 (1pt) Power of Rage (2pt) Active Heart (1pt) Goku AI Pilaf High Tension (3pt) Super +1 (1pt) Savior (1pt) Indignation (1pt) Fighting Spirit (1pt) Krillin AI Chiaotzu Attack +1 (1pt) Exquisite Skill (1pt) Serious (1pt) Draconic Aura (3pt) Quick Fast Attack (1pt) Trunks AI Majuub Indignation (1pt) Serious (1pt) Launch Support (2pt) Quick Fast Attack (1pt) Light Body (1pt) Hatred of Saiyans (1pt) Tien AI My biggest concerns facing this team are Majuub and Teen Gohan. Ultimate Gohan faced Majuub in Week 3 last season and beat him with 1 health bar left, but I’m not fully confident that if they faced each other again UG would win. Despite the 50/50 chance of UG winning against Majuub, he is still the best to face him because Teen hopefully will start against their Teen and the rest of The Gohan’s will likely do bad. I also think UG would struggle and probably lose against their Teen because he spams his strong B2’s and Ultimate and could shut down UG. My Teen would probably lose against Majuub because he’d out spam Teen, but I think Teen could still win if he hits with his Ultimate. Especially if he gets to max power by using Unforgivable and gets an extra super boost, so he’s the safest starter for me. I predicted all of their builds mainly based off of last season with a few changes and I can also predict their whole lineup because of the AI increase and the lack of tagging. So I think what would help me the most is for both teams starting with Teen. That would favor me because their Teen is a Super Saiyan 1 while mine is a 2 so I have stronger B2’s and Ultimate. I also didn’t know what to make their Teen (1 or 2) because I’m using 2 and I think I remember Havoc saying he was going to use 2 this upcoming season before he stepped down. The people who applied for coach in May had him as 1 and I thought it made sense for me to keep the opponents Teen as a Super Saiyan 1 because of that so that's what I went with. I have Teen Gohan first because he should be able to deal with their Teen who is only ssj1 and he could face Majuub if he hits with an Ultimate. Teen has Rising Fighting Spirit so he can start out with full ki and hopefully he can start the match with a B2 giving us an early lead. I Gave him Super +2 Ki-1 to heavily boost his supers and indignation to boost them more. Launch Support to balance out the Ki-1 and Fighting Spirit to boost it as his health goes down. Light Body so he can charge and use B1’s without being interrupted. I have Saiyaman 2nd because he can use a B2 and take care of their starter if Teen Gohan can’t before him and if that is not enough Saiyaman is a spammer and I don’t have to worry about him only doing good damage with melee. Ki+2 Super -1 so he charges faster and throws out B2’s faster. Dragon Power because he will clash a lot if he is spamming like he should. Dende’s Healing so he heals himself and stays in a bit longer and Light Body so he can charge his ki and use B1’s without being hit by energy balls. Future Gohan is next and I made him a tank build because no one on The Gohans (usually) has a consistent defence build week to week and if the AI’s are smarter now maybe this will work. Eternal Life so he heals himself and stays in longer, Defence +3 Attack -1 so he can eat attacks and not take a lot of damage, and serious so his attack -1 goes away and he gets a boost in attack as his health decreases. 4th is Kid Gohan and he has a balanced build. He doesn’t have a really good go to build so I just gave him Indignation, Latent Energy, and Fighting Spirit so as his health decreases his defence and supers get stronger and he charges ki faster. I gave him Dragon Spirit because the smarter AI’s use B1’s more and his Blast Stocks will charge faster and Kid has good B1’s. He has Savior so he can use his ultimate or a max power B2 as soon as he comes in, he could also do a max power melee combo. He has Ki +1 to help him charge faster and hopefully spam B2’s. Ultimate Gohan is closing for The Gohans because him and Teen Gohan (who is 1st) are the best players on the team and if we are behind Ultimate Gohan has a better chance at bringing us back and if we are winning he can help close them out. Attack +1 and Serious will boost his melee game and Power Body makes him an insane meleer fighter and his opponent can’t go on the offensive in the small gaps in between combos. Hopefully he will stay in his opponent’s face so they can’t charge and use B2’s to stop him and he doesn’t take a lot of time in between combos. Teen Gohan Super Saiyan 2 Super +2 Ki -1 (1pt) Launch Support (2pt) Light Body (1pt) Indignation (1pt) Rising Fighting Spirit (1pt) Fighting Spirit (1pt) Frieza AI Saiyaman Ki +2 Super -1 (1pt) Dragon Power (3pt) Dende’s Healing (2pt) Light Body (1pt) Frieza AI Future Gohan Super Saiyan Defence +3 Attack -1 (2pt) Eternal Life (4pt) Serious (1pt) Piccolo AI Kid Gohan Indignation (1pt) Fighting Spirit (1pt) Latent Energy (1pt) Dragon Spirit (2pt) Savior (1pt) Ki +1 (1pt) Gohan AI Ultimate Gohan Power Body (4pt) Attack +1 (1pt) Serious (1pt) Goku AI Cpt. Schizzle Here's my Coach tryout build list: First: The Great Saiyaman Defence +2 attack -1 Secret Measures Dende's healing Latent Energy! AI: Ginyu I felt like the people most likely to be starting would be most likely Majuub or, slightly less likely, Chiaotzu, considering the amount they started in previous seasons. They are both good starters but for very different reasons, one is able to pin down with constant B2s while the other stays in with aggressive fast melee and stun B1s. Nobody on the gohans is good enough to out spam Majuub consistently, so the best option in my opinion is to try and survive it and chip him with low damage over a long period of time. With this matchup a straight trade off is definitely a win, but I'm hoping that the tankiness will result in Saiyaman outlasts Majuub. This build won't work as well against Chiaotzu, but it shouldn't cause a problem as the build is fairly safe. I chose Ginyu AI as it is normally a defensive AI, not throwing out too many B2s and not always flying directly at the opponent, which should mean more healing from Dende. The Ginyu AI also uses lots of B1s, this combined with secret measures should mean lots of justice poses from the start, hopefully making up for the lack of offence in the build. Second: Kid Gohan Saviour Tension up AI: Broly Power Body I don't have much idea who would be coming out next, a combination of the team composition not having much synergy, and no past fights together for me to study (and I also don't know if the new AI switches the line up often, but most likely not). My educated guess is that Chiaotzu would be coming out next, if the opposition thinks similarly to me. Kid Gohan is often built as a tank, but i feel like he would work better as an aggressive melee fighter in this situation. Because of Kid Gohan's tendency to use his max power well on a consistent basis I added saviour to the otherwise balanced melee build. The build is designed so that Kid Gohan can continue Saiyaman's role and hopefully finish off Majuub quickly with saviour to get back any lead he gains. The build is supposed to be as aggressive as possible, remaining in the opponents face and consistently adding damage with melee, but hopefully using saviour to quickly even up the fight or gain the lead depending on how well Saiyaman does. Tension up is so that Kid Gohan doesn't get penalised for not charging. Even though his B2s aren't great they're not worth sacrificing. I chose Broly AI as I felt it fitted with the role best as it its aggressive and stays in the opponents face which synergises with power body, as power body works best when being aggressive, reducing the opponents chance to get out of the combo. Third: Ultimate Gohan Attack +2 defence -1 Eternal Life Indignation Light body AI: Majin Buu I chose this build for Ultimate Gohan as I feel that he is a skilled melee fighter by himself, and doesn't really need to be changed that much from the formula that he's always had. I believe that Ultimate Gohan has lots of sustainable damage, as in past battles he has done consistent melee damage over time with a sprinkling of the Super Kamehameha. Because of his consistent use and quality of his B2s, I decided that not only should i not let the melee take away from the B2s, but in fact I should increase their power. I know that eternal life with defence -1 is a pretty strange decision, but it's a gamble that I'm willing to take. The thinking behind it is that Ultimate Gohan's sustained damage and retaliative B2s he won't need to defence to sustain himself for long enough for eternal life to be effective. Instead of minimising the damage he would have to heal back, Ultimate Gohan would do better in just being aggressive enough that he recovers health while keeping the opponent locked down. This would work best against Tambourine, as I think tambourine would win in the melee game and be able to push through the tankiness, while also healing back the damage from tambourine's weak but consistent so I placed Ultimate Gohan here because Tambourine consistently comes out in the middle of matches, rather than being a starter or closer. The build should do okay against any other opponent as well, apart from Teen Gohan. Teen Gohan's burst would most likely destroy this build, but it's a risk I'm willing to take, as Teen Gohan is normally a closer. I chose Majin Buu AI as I feel like it's been consistent enough in its melee, and hopefully will still use enough B2s for Indignation! to be worth it. Fourth: Future Gohan Ki +1 Serious! Fighting Spirit! Power Body AI: Krillin Future Gohan is a tough case. I've never really understood what his best strength is, and I think the Gohan's aren't 100% either, as they seem to change his builds around often. Is he naturally a spammer and the melee should be improved, or is he naturally good at melee and the spamming needs improving? Neither? Both? Iunno. I feel like his melee combos are strong, and as fun as it would be to have him on a grab build, it probably wouldn't be consistent enough. I decided to put him on a fairly balanced build, leaning slightly on the spammy side with a bit of attack because he is often in close range, even if it is mostly for B2s. This late into the game I'm not sure who he would be facing, but by the process of elimination (I'm pretty sure about the first 2 enemies and the last one) it's most likely to be Pilaf. This would work well because of Future Gohan's use of B2s at close range, countering the rolling smash. The hope for future Gohan is that he will attack with melee, dash back, throw a B2, move back in, rinse, repeat. This should be effective against Pilaf's move set and normal play style. Super +2 Ki -1 Saviour Quick fast attack Style of the strong AI: Tien AI Fifth: Teen Gohan. The beast. The closer. The be all and end all. I feel like this build is fairly self explanatory. Super +2 Ki -1 is so that the B2s will do more damage, as Teen Gohan even with Ki -1 shouldn't have too much problem charging up. Style of the Strong and Saviour so that he can hopefully pull off an ultimate right off the bat, then use quick fast attack to just add damage (Until he has his Ki back) with these signature Teen Gohan fast spinney combos (the technical term). The plan is for him to come in with his ultimate doing as much damage to whatever poor soul he faces first, and hopefully doing enough sustained damage with quick fast attack until he can tag back out, or alternatively just keep firing B2s and do as much damage as possible to the remnants of the enemy team. Picking Teen Gohan seems like the obvious decision at the surface, but I was originally going to have him come out third, as I have no clue what a Teen Gohan vs. Teen Gohan matchup would look like, and so I wouldn't be able to plan for it that well. Chiaotzu could perhaps counter Teen Gohan with his stun B1s and fast melee, but most match ups should favour Teen Gohan. The riskiest part of the build is definitely Style of the Strong, as the amount of times I've seen it on a character and it not get used (*cough cough* Supreme Kai *cough cough*) is pretty high, but if anyone can use it it's Teen Gohan on Tien AI. Teen Gohan hopefully should already be at an advantage when he comes out, so it's definitely worth the risk. I chose the Tien AI because it's a solid B2 AI which uses lots of Ultimates, fairly consistent as far as AIs go, and works well with the role I have set for Teen Gohan, glass cannon closer using his ultimate for burst damage. He isn't designed to stay in very long, but if that does end up happening quick fast attack should sustain him enough. I've shown the builds and explained them all and the match-ups I'm expecting, but I'd also like to explain more of the general idea of what I've done. The team I'm facing is very well rounded, and so there isn't any specific things I could build that would counter it, unlike a team like the androids or muscle, where they have a strength I can counter. Because of this I've had to resort to just estimated guesses based on previous matches and the process of elimination to figure out the lineup order, and hope that the AI doesn't mess with it too much. I feel like all the builds here synergise fairly well, and that it should win against the team I'm facing considering the amount of thought I put into it. The main weakness is that I personally haven't seen any tests of how any of the Gohans react with certain AIs, but I think my educated guesses should be enough. Let's see how it goes! First off the following applicants, while putting forth good applications have been disqualified for using illegal builds. These are the specific reasons: Muje put Ki +1 and Attack +1 on Future Gohan. You may only have one blue potara on a character as stated in the Rules - Builds and Potaras page that was linked beforehand. Weezy put Dragon Spirit on Teen Gohan. Teen Gohan is banned from any B1 increasing potara as stated in the Rules - Builds and Potaras page that was linked beforehand. Schizzle used Power Body on two different characters. Again, as stated in the Rules - Builds and Potaras page that was linked beforehand, you may only use one Power Body per team. So, this left us with Badlogic and Joey as our only valid candidates. After quite a bit of debate, the staff has chosen Joey to be the new coach of the Gohans. |
