Blast Stock Recovery test match!

Hey! I got a couple other test matches that could help out everyone and one more specifically for Team Muscle! Syn Shenron is moping about not being able to burn and pillage any country sides (like any dragon does), so I'm working to let him into our 2nd preseason match and give him a warm up in a test video. =D

First Match!!!!

Bojack (default AI)
Sparkling Plus (stay in Max power longer) 3p
Dragon Spirit 2p (recover blast gauge quicker) 2p

vs

Syn Shenron (default AI)
Sparkling Plus 3p
Dragon Spirit 2p

This is the one more specific for Team Muscle. It's more to compare the two. Best of 3. Simplest of the 3 matches to try out.

2nd match!!! (The more important but possibly more of a pain to test)

Broly (default AI)
Spirit Concentration (Blast gauge consumption -1) 3p

vs

Broly (default AI)
Dragon Spirit (Blast 1 gauge raises more quickly) 2p

I would recommend doing one matche with increased health to get clearer results rather than have a best of 3 and not get any signifigant ones. This is to compare which method would be faster to getting to use blast 1s, transform, and go into max power. This one will prolly be better to manually control the first Broly to see how exactly this affects all b1 related moves. I really want to know if the -1 reduced it completely, eliminating the blast stock requirement to go to max power, or if this only reduces transformations and blast stock requirements for other b1 moves.

3rd Match!!!! (To make sure I didn't theorize a potentially broken combo)

Bojack (Default AI)
Miracle Sparkling 3p (nearly always dodge an attack when in max power mode; reduced max power duration)
Dragon Heart 2p (regain a blast stock when dodging a B2 or Ultimate move; reduced blast gauge recovery)

vs

Broly (Default AI)
Miracle Sparkling 3p
Dragon Spirit 2p

I'm worried about these pairings. I noticed a lot of characters with b1s that put them into max power mode instantly. With how frequently b2 moves are used and how Miracle Sparkling works (and the AI), you may end up with a near untouchable opponent. I'd rather rule out these combos as possibly "broken" now in preseason rather have it be stumbled upon later. I'm not sure they would be with these particular characters but you never know. To my knowledge, there isn't a 1 cost blast stock that puts you immediatly to full power and all cost 2 at the bare minimum.

Much thanks! If I can get set-up quickly enough, I will try to test this on my own after trying to help some other players first.

Well I managed to get set-up to run test matches and am trying to get setup to upload them, but I figured I would go ahead and basically tell you what I found in the meantime and then link to video as soon as it is up.

I've only tested the Blast Stock related potaras (Match #2). Before I get into the results of the potaras themselves, let me go over what Blast Stocks (b1 gauge) is used for.

Blast Gauges are used for...
1. Going Max power (costs 1; this is important because characters can only use their ultimates in Max Power mode)
2. Transforming (Will cost 1 or 2 depending on character; most transformations that recover health and signifigantly change the physical form and moveset of character cost 2 to my current knowledge)
3. Blast 1 moves (any utility ability your character has. i.e. stuning beams, android barriers, temporary buffs like Saiyan Soul and False courage, etc.)

This gauge will not recover as characters are on standby unless equiped with Kibito's Secret Art. Otherwise, Blast 1 gauge can only be gained when on the field and in combat.
An interesting thing I found out through the tutorial mode of the game is that Blast 1 gauge will go up whenever your character deflects Ki blasts. Finding out more details on this will have to be in another test/ video for better explaination.

NOW! To the Potaras:

Dragon Spirit 2p (increase blast stock regen)- Since I used Broly, his b1 wasn't moving a whole lot faster than the one with Spirit Concentration initially, but over the course of the battle, he had more blast stocks total during the match.

Spiritual Concentration 3p (reduce blast stock use by 1)- Now this was the more interesting one to look at. There were 2 major things to note about this potara:

1. Does NOT reduce stock consumption to 0. Meaning, if you have someone with a 1 gauge use ability (i.e. Mystic Breath, Tapion's barrier, etc.), they do not get to do those for free.
It does also say this in the potara select screen as a side note that it doesn't reduce anything beyond 1.

2. Does NOT allow you to go to MAX POWER mode for free. I'm actually very glad this wasn't possible, otherwise this would easily become the most abused potara.

3.Does NOT reduce transformation blast stock cost at all. Meaning no matter what, all characters have to wait for the necessary amount of blast stocks to do their respective transformation. No quick short cuts for anyone (including Broly)

Now that the bad news it out of the way, here's the good news: This is still a very, VERY useful potara. This cuts down the time until you can use b1 abilities by a large fraction. Meaning Garlic can use his stun as soon as he gets 1 blast stock, Androids with barriers can use it once they get 1 blast stock, Saiyan soul (which usually takes 3) can be used at 2.

By comparison: They both do good at however much you are willing to invest in B1 usage.

In the test match itself, both Brolys were using their b1 abilties almost right after one another at times, but the one with Spirit Concentration had more spare blast gauge to go into Ultimate form and go max power more frequently because of having extra blast stocks in the tank.

So overall, the advantage goes to Spirit Concentration but Dragon Spirit isn't too far off, much like their potara costs. If you favor more transformations/ max power, then Spirit Concentration won't help a lot and. If you favor heavy blast 1 move usage, then Dragon Spirit won't be as good as Spirit Concentration but cost 1 less potara.

So there yah go. ^_^
will msg Squee to hopefully transfer some of this info over to the potara portion.
