I say other, but that other is more than one.

I feel that you can not say one person is the smartest in all history.

If that is said than it would but not totaly downplay all other great people in history. But I just feel that it is not possible to place this title on anyone.

Because he started a religion and gave alot of smart Ideals such as do unto others as you want them to do unto you aka treat others how you'd like to be treated
Not a christian but, it does say that the the jewish bible (sorry "old" testimont). It was an old Jewish ideal before Christians took all the credit.
Yes but Jesus made it more popular and well known and from what I understand back then the Jewish people weren't exactly doing very good with their own ideal

Most of these examples are really good. Some are not that good (Rowling). I have trouble picking really. I guess I would go with Sun Tzu. If your plan for military stratedgy is not just studied today but also considered the key to success in ANY military action both ancient and modern, you were a genius. I'm not saying he is the smartest on the list, but I gave up on trying to find the smartest of the list and just decided to find the smartest of the generals.

I agree Sun Tzu could be considered one of the smartest people in history for the advancement of military tactics and strategy.

His methods are still used today but they have been bent and shaped a little(or a lot in some cases) to fit this modern environment.

I'd have to disagree with the opinion that Jesus only took philosophies from the OT and gave them as his own in NT. OT presents us with a fierce and mean God that killed the non-believers (Egyptians mostly), and wiped out the entire planet (noah's ark). it is jesus and his followers (if he existed) that brought peace and love to the bible by introducing the NT. so he can be considered one of the greatest philosophers.

There is some proof that Jesus existed just none that he was a prophet or gods son

Ok stop having a religious piss fight
The bible is an accurate Historical reference,
and calling it untrue is insulting to both Theologians and Scientists
Remember this thread is about the smartest PERSON so can we leave the God factor out of it please?
