Yeah. Utawa....I am so not spelling at out again, seems (I can't read a word of Japanese so I don't know for sure) to be more of the former. The ecchi stuff is there, but it doesn't appear to be the primary focus. The big focus is on what drew me to the game, the really good SRPG combat. I assume the story was a big focus as well, but my lack of understanding of the language means I have no idea. |

The game was translated at some point as far as I know, hasn't been too long ago either. @Dende/Huzzah: since you guys seem to know a bit about type-moon yourself: do you know about the fangame Battle Moon Wars? Look into it if you like Tactical RPGs (not that you've got any choices, compare it to Final Fantasy Tactics). It's basically everything - Kara no Kyoukai (only a bit), Tsukihime, Kagetsu Tohya, Melty Blood, Fate Stay Night, Fate Hollow Atraxia (sp?), ... Quite enjoyable. Of course complete with a rather shitty story. Edited by qno2, Feb 3 2012, 06:07 PM.

To be honest, I don't really care for the Type-Moon universe. I didn't know Kara No Kyoukai was part of a "universe" until recently. |

Nice I'll have to look into that. I played it while the anime was airing so it's been a long time since I've looked into it too much. |

Reminds me that I still haven't finished Shizune's route. Oh pardon, Misha's route. Ah pardon, whose route was that again? The writer didn't seem to know either, pah. Kinda surprised that somebody here knows about this to be honest. |

@Huzza: Heathen. @Qno2: I know about Battle Moon Wars but I didn't played it entirely to be honest. It's still fun. Well Katawa Shojo is easy to get so it's not that surprising, I only have played like 5 or 6 visual novels and it is on my list. About the question Squee asked I don't think there are any historic/realistic anime that corresponds. But my list of anime watched is far less impressive than qno2's one. If anything I would've expected that the premise "VN" turns a lot of people off already, without even mentioning the twist of Katawa Shoujo. 4ch really gave it their all to promote this, huh? Apparently someone wants to make a VN about psychological disorders... as a psychology major I'm both intrigued and doubtful whether this will work out. Sadly only did the two routes that are considered the weakest up until now (Shizune, still unfinished, and Emi's [I was just trying to see whether I can die in this game, don't force me onto a route, jeez]). Gotta get back to it... @Dende: keep in mind that I haven't really watched anything for three years. Maybe something new came up in this timeframe. And I remember reading about an anime that could fit the criteria but I can't remember the name. Kinda about war, plans, photography... yeah that makes it easier to find, right~. Number of VNs... between 15 and 20 I suppose. |

. You'd be surprised to see which anime are based on those games, actually. Then again one would need to differentiate between a normal Visual Novel (+18 stuff can be part of it but isn't the focus) and an eroge/"ecchi game" (+18 stuff is the 'main objective').
