you know, you can spin anything somebody does as negative. for instance: the enitre basis of pokemon is to force small animals to nearly kill each other in ritualistic battles until one can not fight anymore, the citizens of the world watch this carnage as simple entertainment.

Watching anime, playing DND, or let's playing could all be set to this tone, given some decent research and a few vague words. I'm not big into anime but I do know that every time a psychological study about "the effects of video games and other things your kids are doing" comes out that I hear of, it turns up nothing to support the claim. If you are honestly thinking of disallowing anime because of this; DON'T! all you are doing is putting an unneccesary restriction on yourself or those around you, and if you're a parent thinking of tearing up your kid's Inuyasha poster, all you're going to do is make your child hate you.

So like I said, don't let things like this fool you, I've been gaming since I was 3 and, if anything, it didn't desensitze me, but made me more sensitive to the emotions of others, I'm not ashamed to say I cried at the end of Fable 3.
Have you ever watched Tord's (Mynameisnotlilly's) Let's play of Neverwinter Nights?

There are a few episodes where he talks in depth about psychological books/trials/evidence which are all heavily biased against video gamers and cite playing video games as a reason for crime. He does a great job on debunking 99% of it to be honest, was very interesting to listen to :)

It reminded me of this article:
GTA Kid

I'm kind of living proof that violent video games and anime don't have any psychological effect on kids. The first game I ever played was the original Halo and I was 4 years old. A year or two later when Vice City came out I played that alot. I love FMA and DBZ and those are really violent shows. Now the thing is I never resort to violence in any situation, I consider myself a conditional pacifist meaning if there is any other solution I wont resort to violence.
