I have recently heard that people overseas in a certain island nation have very... strange practices while eating..... You can see where I am going with this... |

So... this is a good idea for a thread how exactly? Instant coffee? Yeah, it's coffee, without the wait. Eighty... Where's the "D" in it? Hm? |

This topic is equally viable as all the other random stuff on the internet. Do you actually hold your knife during the meal, and eat with your fork upside down and... other such things? It sounds like you are putting to much effort when you say eigh-TEE. |

And INSTANT COFFEE? Why not just take coffee, and filter it, then drink it. Most people would say its much better that way. |

Which isn't saying much, given how much crap the internet contains. No, I hold my knife between my toes and eat sitting on my shoulders. What d'you think? It's called enunciation. Because it's FASTER! It doesn't taste any different and it's more convenient for when you don't have the time to spend in the morning. There's also less waste. It doesn't matter if it's crap, the fact is its the standard. What I mean is in America, we use our knife to cut our meat, or what ever our knife is needed for, then we set it down, and put our fork in our main hand. I am under the impression you don't do this. -erb. About ever single household in America disagrees with you and your instant coffee, and your taking five hours to eat dinner at a restaurant. |

Grey...prepare to be attacked by angry Brits. ![]() With you on this Rebel Everyone has their own customs. What's the big deal? Personally, I say eighty both ways, really isn't a big deal. I actually prefer regular cofee, but there is literally no problem with enjoying instant-coffee. And, there is nothing wrong with taking time to enjoy your food. Yes, but it's fun to pointlessly argue over these things. |

So? If standard is crap it's still crap and shouldn't exist! Indeed, thank you RandomMan1 :-) No, we combine the two. Knife in right hand (usually), fork in left hand. We can eat and cut at the same time. The last time I ate out was... four years ago. I was twelve. When you eat out, you go to enjoy yourselves, so you take your time. I honestly don't notice any difference between the two. I like coffee quick, hot and in great quantities. So instant is my way. |
