Two things. 1)This entire topic was incredibly entertaining, thank you very much for createing it. 2)On the topic of WW2 I may be american but i need to support my reletives. Polish where the best force the Allies had bar none. Man for Man the Germans where slaughtering the allies, Man for Man the Polish where slaughtering the Germans. |

2. Egypt tends to get lumped in with the other middle eastern nations and building huge tombs is meh in my eyes 3.it was designed by an american give me a link that says otherwise so I can read this. 4.yes I grabbed a part of the LL article. 5.we sold you those items at lost meaning we were losing money in the deal but FDR was ok with that. 6.so 7.the whole way you were talking just dripped THE UK IS NUMBER ONE to me and you were losing and there really only two main forces for the allies the US and the USSR the rest were pretty much minor allies other then the UK. 8.you really need to learn more about the war but at least you know it happened that is better then some people I know. I am not an US fanboy not even a fan of it and to be fair I prefer the middle ages and before when it comes to history if only the romans never fell |

SAS where a specific devision of the British. I'm talking as a 'side' of the Allies in general. But you do have a point in that. |

2. Of course you are entitled to your opinion. It was just how you stated that none except S.Africa had very little history, which is true for the majority. 3. Here it states that it is designed by the KMDB, which was a state owned factory. Mikhail Koshkin is cited as being the designer of the T-34 here and a quote from the first link states "Koshkin's team completed two prototype T-34s in January 1940." Walter Christie was the only American I'm aware of that was somehow involved in the T-34's design, and that was more of a "copy" that the Soviets made of his suspension system. 5. The point I was making is that, regardless of whether it was a loss or not, you sold us them. Money which, if we didn't buy from the U.S., we could buy from somewhere else. Over a billion pounds was spent on these goods, a billion which could have been used to purchase from other countries. My point was that the US was not the only option and therefore did not "save Britain's ass". It helped, a lot, but we could have got a lot on our own with the 1 billion pounds. Domestically was one option and the commonwealth was another: "Roosevelt allowed Lend-Lease to purchase supplies from Canada, for shipment to Britain" from the same document you copy/pasted from. Not to mention how many supplies were left undelivered until after the war and how many shipments by sea were sunk by U-Boats. 7. The fact that I categorically stated that the USSR was the most influential power in WW2 and (in my opinion) could have beat the Germans without UK/US/Commonwealth aid gave you the impression that I think the UK was number one? I like the Soviets more than I like my own country. Even then, it was a pile of crock. Although, less so than now. I'm glad we've amused you Kagurodraven! The Polish have a reputation here for being extremely hard working, it doesn't surprise me to hear that they were a force to be reckoned with ("the more you put in, the more you get out" philosophy at work here). The vodka drinking games, though? Not for me. Get me a nice cold beer. Just to dispel any 'warm English beer' myths

If you would indulge my insane curiosity. Is it true that every day at 'tea time' all English citizens drop whatever they are doing to have tea? Why does almost every form of fiction involveing England take place in London? Do the Scots and English still hold old grudges? How does it feel knowing your 'largest empire in the world' fell around your ears? Why is there so much hate for the Irish? Why do you drive on the wrong side of the road? Is it true that all English citizens are expected to own a top-hat and monocle? Why do you like Football(soccer) so much? And finally, why do almost all evil masterminds have some variation of English accents? |

I came to the conclusion that we would never know, as we were not losing before America was involved, and he agreed to disagree. Was a good debate! Stalemate, probably.
