School vouchers are families being paid to take children to private schools? If that is right then I would object to it. My counter proposal would be that I agree that if you're using a private school, why should you pay for a public school? However, I would like to suggest that the parents of public school kids' pay for Public schools via taxes, then have to sit an entrance exam to get into a private school. (if they want to fund their kid's education, they can take out a no-low interest loan to be paid back, at minimum, when the person starts work. But can be paid off sooner if they prefer) Having a mix of public & private child care / elderly care I agree with. I'll get to working on a list, I'll try and keep it compromis-able and realistic I'd prefer standing, or some form of PAID part-time army I'll move it over to a new thread then when we reach a switching point when we don't need to quote eachother so often

School Vouchers would work like this. A parent choose whether the tax money they spend on education goes to paying a public school, or private school. Either way, we need to cut some spending, so we can just save it for a later date. If we go with a volunteer army, they would have to have some time for training, or else we'd be fielding a useless army. And we could use a draft if we had to defend our own territory. And that should solve all the nessecaties for now. When we're better established, we can work out other minor details. Until then, we should stick with our current topics of debate. Have fun Huzzah. By the way, this would be a better location because if it was on the RP Ideas thread, things would probably be swayed to DnD or ME ideas much quicker. (Snowy proposed a DnD in modern times RP, which was quickly changed to a ME-ish idea)

OH right okay. Then in those terms, I agree with School vouchers. Sorry, I misunderstood. Sounds like a good idea to me. Also, this seems like a good time to move to the RP forum, so I'll start it there |

Ok becouse I'm not reading everything that happened while my internet was down. Can someone clear up how we got from trolling each other jokeingly to a serious discussion of these things?

It went like this. It started with trolling, then we got into more serious debates over the subjects. This eventually brought us to a debate on socialism versus capitalism. During this debate, Dantos asked us what we thought about a government RP. Me, hjk, and Grey thought it was a great idea. The past few pages of posts have been discussing what that nation would be like. |
