I DO agree though that the downtown area should have been more open. The idea of an open world game FORCING you to use an area just never made sense. I always wished I could just climb over those rubble piles or at the least go through a building
But the game never forced you to go into the Downtown DC Ruins nor is it necessary to beat the game.
Of course not. It's not necessary to go into ALOT of the areas in Fallout 3 if you're focused on just the story. Hell if you wanna be a story purist you pretty much stay within the little sphere of the Megaton/Rivet City/Citadel area. Only time you HAVE to use the underground is when you visit Three Dog if I remember correctly. But what I'm saying is that this is an open world game with many things to see and do and it limits you with the rubble piles. And that is somethign that irks me. No OPEN world game should ever limit your mobility with-in the game world. End of the world borders are fine cause it can't be Minecraft and go on forever. But the fact that you MUST take a certain route to get certain places in that world is bothersome if not slightly annoying. Allow me to see the Underground on my own terms not because you are limiting me.
Which games do you considered to not have limitations???
