As I promised you all, here's my review of the game. Feel free to share your own once you've played it... A Pioneering Spirit… 4 out of 5 The Walking Dead Survival Instinct is one of the new genre of survival games. This is a game of stealth, strategy and resource management…so those of you expecting a game where you can gun down a horde of undead best try the likes of Left4Dead… Placing you in the role of Daryl Dixon, the game takes you through the rise of the Walkers and the collapse of the world as you know it…one where you must do whatever it takes to survive. During your travels to find your brother (Merle) and reach the (supposed) safety of Atlanta you must quietly gather resources to aid in this pursuit. Resources are limited, as is your ability to stow what you collect in your vehicle and on your person. You must use your best judgement in the acquisition of weapons, ammo, food and fuel…and just how much of each you take. During your travels you must choose which roads you wish to travel. You choice of which roads to take boils down to three simple things; fuel consumption, risk of breakdown, and chance to gather resources. You’ll also have to choose (on occasion) which direction to take in the grand scheme of things. And then there are survivors like yourself you’ll be able to take with you… Like resources, your car has limited room for passengers, survivors you can take with you. You must weight their value and importance to your survival…each one possessing unique assets that will aid you in you bid to survive. They can also be directed to earn their keep, being sent out to gather resources whilst you tend your own affairs when you stop somewhere. This is an intensive game that really has you on tenterhooks as you stalk the remnants of a post-apocalypse Walker world…one fraught with potential danger around every corner. So why on 4 out of 5 in this rating? Simply put, the graphics are a little dated and the save mechanics are frustrating. But if you can look past these couple of frustrations, this is a damn good game that has a pioneering spirit for the new genre of survival games… Edited by Vosoros, Apr 3 2013, 11:18 AM.

If, like myself, you're console-bound for most of your games owing to a "wanting" computer, you may be pleased to hear that The Walking Dead will be available come May 10 2013. This is the predocessor to The Walking Dead Survival Instinct and hence I thought germane to pop a plug for such here. I've just gotten my pre-order set up, how about you? Oh, and if you're unsure if you'll like the game and don't mind watching a little before you play, might I suggest watching aKiss4Luck's LP of this game on YouTube. Hey, even if you've played the game this LP is worth a watch.

Not that i saw Angry Joe's review but i know that the game is pretty bare bone on what its trying to be and most LPers of plays it doesn't find it that much good of a game...which i can see why since the game seems pretty empty. |

Meh, most folk seem to rag on this game without a great deal of cause. Mostly because of the "lack of polish", which if looked past, masks a damn fine game for the most part. I was glad to have pre-ordered despite the negativity surrounding the game...
