I decided that video games at current have dul discripshions and unrelated catorgorys. For instance I seen a catorgory that's called aliens and it has Shooters , RPGs and Puzzers all in one area which could have bean somewhere else that makes more sense in my opinion which my opinion for all i know could be unvalid and that leads to my main point. This thread will be the place were we come together and finally figure out what categorys and descriptions that should be and to get rid of any confusion that have ocured because of single opinions.
Also this is the place to go to for all that stuff above because I made another one of this type of thread but put it in DBZ league general discussion instead of here but knowing me I mess it up some how again here...
So if you have any ideals, thouts, or random ideals you whount to throw out there related to this than you can and I'm sorry for any errors I have made due to my tiredness.
Thanked for reading this far = D

RPGs are the worst. I shouldn't look in a list of RPG games and see any old game with swords. The definition of a Role Playing Game is not a game with magic and elves. Fantasy =/= RPG. There's a difference, and game publishers and providers need to learn it. I'm looking at you, Steam.

I think there needs to be a classification between third person shooters. I keep seeing games labeled generic cover based shooters or generic third person shooters that aren't.

For example: Vanquish, Max Payne 3, and the upcoming Fuse.

I would label the difference as cover based shooters vs action shooters.

Cover based shooters are more defensive based where you take cover pop out fire some shots and then duck back down.

Action based shooters are more offensively oriented where the player is intended to be more run and gun and take on the enemy more aggressively. Cover can still be in the game it just isn't there to just constantly hide behind.

What about a shooter where the player is free to play defensively or offensively as they see fit? I wouldn't know if such a thing exists, as I don't play shooters.

they do exist. Most action shooters can be played that way but it isn't really the way the game is built to be played and doesn't tend to be that fun as the devs usually don't design it heavily for that style of play.
