I though it may be nice to have a generic place to discuss our Blood Bowl experiences, ideas...and possibly team concepts and builds... Perhaps I ought to start this thread by introducing you to my team and experiences...xbox 360 style. Welcome to Beastial Chaos! Beastial Chaos is named thus because it's a Chaos team conposed of Beastmen and a Minotaur (Gorvos), the only player I've renamed... Gorvos (my Minotaur) was named as I wanted to incorporate my own username with the notion that this wild hulk of a beast would gore and brutalise the other team...hence; Gor-Vos. I've "evolved" Gorvos with mutations (Claws) and strength skills (Stand firm and Guard), and reaching level 4 by the start of the 3rd cup, been outfitted in the best equipment possible head to foot. Gorvos is becomming as much of a road block as he is a murderous beast... The Beastmen have yet to be renamed to my satisfaction, but their development has been unexpectidly beautiful and horrifying as I focused on the prehensile tail mutation as the first stage of most of their "evolutions", adding claws to the mix to make them highly capable of dispatching teams as easily as shutting down any attempts to dodge and weave through their ranks. It works suprisingly well for the most part I might add for the record. By the 3rd cup I have 4 level 2 Beastmen (one uniquely evolved with dodge) and one level 3 Beastman; fully fitted with the best equipment like Gorvos...and "evolved" with Block if memory serves. The team is 14 strong, and though we lost the first cup (finishing last) our "evolution" has made us an undefeatable bunch of chaotic beasts that haven't lost a single match since. We've scored and gored our way to victory...and will continue to do so from now on! If you'd like to recreate this team then know that the teams colour is black (if I could choose such on the xbox 360 version of the game) and our logo is the horned rams head... After a little research, I've figured out a style I'd like my Beastmen on my team to be developed... Brute Beastmen Normal: Block, Tackle, Stand Firm, Guard, Mighty Blow, Prehensile Tail, Claws Doubles: Dodge, Diving Tackle Stat Increases: +ST, +AG, +AV These beastmen combine the strength of a defender, the murderous brutality of a killer and the bonus of being able to adapt to most situaltions. The claws combine with mighty blow and natural horns to enable them to get the other teams players off the pitch. Meanwhile, their prehensile tails and diving tackle skill give them an incredable -3 to an opposing teams trying to dodge and weave through your ranks. Block and tackle negate many of the opposing teams (would be) dice roll advantages, while stand firm and guard enable you to lock down the opposing players further so you can open up a world of hurt on them. The potential stat increase just make these guys even more of a nightmare for an opposing team. So, what do you think of this build for the Beastmen? All I need to do now if figure out how I'd like to develop Gorvos the Minotaur... Edited by Vosoros, Apr 15 2013, 04:22 AM.

And finally I realise the potential of Gorvos... Murderous Minotaur Normal: Stand Firm, Guard, Claws, Prehensile Tail, Juggernaut Doubles: Block, Pro, Diving Tackle Stat Increases: +ST, +MV, +AV A murderous minotaur enables you both lock your opposition down and gore them to death. With sufficent players off the pitch (or locked down), your opponent's chances of winning deminish gravely. Stand firm and guard enables this wild animal to control the field and keep opposing players locked down...and with prehensile tail and diving tackle, somewhat deminish the chances of agile team players breaking free of your grasp. With his inherent mighty blow, the addition of claws enables this big guy to to maim or outright murder an opposing teams players. The addition of pro somewhat mitigates this brutes wild animal and loner quailities increasing this assets powerful value to your team. And when not surrounded by the opposition, juggernaut and increased movement value enable this murderous fiend to bring his horns into the frey. Other stat increases simply keep this guy alive and bolster his performance in annihilating the opposition. So, again, what do you think of this build for the Minotaur? |

I'm experimenting with a Wood Elf team now and it's going well, two matches in I'm two for two in victories. I think the secret might be the fact I have wood for my elves... Erhhhh, that came out wrong. I meant I have a treeman in my team's midst. Two wardancers are proving a boon too!

Having not really make much headway with my Beastial Chaos team, and understanding more of the subtle nuances of Blood Bowl, I decided to give a Wood Elf team a go... The Woodland Warriors are a fantastic contrast to a brute team, and I really wanted to play as them from the get go...so WOOTS for me learning sufficent to enjoy this team. I took a gamble with the original team hiring and brought into the fold 1 treeman, 2 wardancers and 9 linemen. This meant no apothacary, cheerleaders or re-rolls for a couple of matches. But despite such concerns, the injuries suffered didn't hinder the team overly much...and their were not long-term consequences, such as broken backs and whathaveyou. The extra team player proved a boon when the Woodland Warriors were down a man at any given point in the matches. Thankfully, after a couple of matches, the Woodland Warriors were able to hire an apothacary and 3 cheerleaders...and a few matches after that, a single re-roll. Despite the odds seemingly stacked againt my wood elf team, they won all but one match in the Clean Cup 1-0. The odd match out was a 0-0 draw. I the end, I won my first cup on Blood Bowl EVER! With such an outstanding promise, I certianly plan to continue with this team for a good-long while to come? So what about you folks? Any Blood Bowl teams and experiences to share? And pearls of wisdom for us new folk...and maybe experienced folk too? Edited by Vosoros, Apr 16 2013, 06:53 AM.

The Lord of Misrule & The Abbot of Unreason
|
After watching a couple of the videos in the Random Cup, and also seeing a few in CKnoor's SA Let's Play of it, and also various friends telling me, I finally got the game. And I discovered that I am not good at it. At all. I think it's mostly due to a lack of comprehension of the rules of the game and also the way I play games which does not lend itself to strategy well. My first team which I'm hoping to design is a simple Chaos team, as I've heard they're a good starting team, named 'The Umlauts'. My characters will all be named after the lineup in the Philosophers football match sketch from Monty Python, with the exception of Wittgenstien, who was of course austrian. Any tips at ALL will be nice as I am utterly terrible at this game. |
