^Uses a keyboard to play games, can't get used to a 10 button XBox controller. |

...Haven't actually played X-box. I've played on my cousin's PS2 and PS3, and I'm just so used to having my fingers spread out over a keyboard, not curled around a controller. |

I watch TV on my PC all the time, on my TV screen. I have like a 15$ HDMI cord and watch HD TV on my laptop, using the TV screen. I plug it in, hit play, set is down, and settle into my couch. If you like the X Box controller, you can just plug it in via USB. I've never had a PS3, but I've had a PS2 for about 6 years, and an Xbox 360 for about 2 years. PC always wins. Better graphics, mods, better DRM, indie games, alt-tab to switch to anything else instantly, better FPS, the only downside is possibly more money.

I have to admit, I do like a console controller -- but given you can plug these in to your PC and use in most games these days.... I dunno, take a look at the new game Watch Dogs. In the end it just comes down to cost. Do you wanna pay £35 or £89? I'll miss my Xbox 360...it's been a pleasure to have that console in my life so I never had to worry about needing to pay out and upgrade my PC to play the latest games. But, sadly, that time is comming to a close. However, I'll certianly be hanging on to my Xbox 360 for so long as I don't get ring-of-deathed... |

You do know that those prices are just rumors, right? That Amazon UK made up? They haven't actually been confirmed, and Microsoft and Sony would have to be bat-shit insane to actually charge those prices. I'm not saying they're not, but I think this discussion is all a bit rash. |

Never trust something insane not to be true these days -- in my experience... Anyhow, these consoles and games would still have to be half the price (consoles £300 and games £40) for me to contemplate getting one. Even then, a lot of the so-called improvements are pointless so far as I'm concerned...I just want the better memory, graphics and whathaveyou to play the latest games. Oh well, I guess we'll see in the fullness of time -- but color me dubious as to the next generation of consoles and their worth (for me at least)... |

So far as consoles, they're always what I've preferred. But I'm with everyone who says this next generation of Consoles is a load of rubbish. I supported X-Box when it came out. And when I messed up and killed the original I begged for a 360 and I've had it for about 5 years now. It's great, it hasn't broken down, I have wonderful games, and it can do everything I need. But these new systems don't offer anything extra, anything new, with the same old games (thank you for the COD reference) and fewer opportunities to play with this whole "download" concept. Plus, what people like Squee and Criana do with PCs is incredible. Same thing for my buddy xsithspawnx (shameless plug). So I may well be joining the PC trend in the near future. |

Gaming PC's are a lot more expensive than consoles, and that's where it's all at. |

Well, thats kind of a lop-sided way of debating this, as you are trying to compare something that isn't even out yet to something that has been out for literally decades. To debate this with any sort of balance, you have to include how you view consoles now ![]() About cost, I don't know how much the new gen consoles are going to be, but they will most likely be cheaper than a superior gaming PC. You could always make one for the same price, but I think I'd prefer to just have a console that can do almost (Note almost ) anything a PC can do.The systems don't offer anything extra, Vin? I'm probably not clued up enough to argue this, but surely they have to have improved something? It's simply laws of logic that something must have gotten better? Or do you mean offer something extra from PC's? Bit off topic, I wouldn't be too surprised if you saw the new gen consoles (in the future, not from launch) offer the ability to download mods for games. This is just me speculating, but Xbox already has Internet Explorer, it's possible that it could look at the modding scene and think "Hmm, me wants it"
