I admit, I haven't done too much research into the console. But from what I can tell all they have now are downloads vs. purchasing a physical disc, which means less ability to hang out at a friend's house. The Kinect will always be on, which is creepy. And from what I hear (and I may be wrong) the old 360 games will not be read by the X-Box One. And that's just crazy if you ask me because the 360 has been our for over five years. That's more than enough time for someone to have a substantial collection of games. And there are several (say...Skyrim) that I love and want to play. So, I see no reason to buy a new system if I can't play the games I love and the games that are coming out appear to be lack-luster (and I admit, the lack-luster comment is all opinion based. I like a certain type of game. So, for my purposes, this new line up of games kinda sucks. No offense to anyone who is excited about the games coming out (you're talking to a guy whose favorite game is Legend of Dragoon from the PS1)). |

Also, PC's get MMO's you can play -- something a fourth generation of console is yet to address the balance of... Nevertheless, I've noticed the next gen consoles seem to now be getting advertised at about the £400 mark (£100 more that the thrid gen of consoles I believe), though for the tech I'm not interested in. Oh well. The games however, seem to be sticking at an obscenely high price of £90. Even if they came down to £50 I'd be dubious as to weather that changes my opinion of the consoles financial worth as an investment as opposed to the PC. Regardless, my current PC is on it's last legs -- so I might as well go PC (even if only for a while) and see if the consoles and games become more affordable and worthwhile for my needs for such. We'll see in the fullness of time I guess folks. But one thing's for certian, I won't be buying the new consoles upon release date... |

Yeah, as far as I can tell, new consoles are just shinier, crappier versions of the older ones. |

I'll get a PS4 probably, though not for a while. I'm content with my PS3 and vita. Regarding the PS4, they haven't really released much about it at the moment. I'll wait to E3 before I judge it properly. The PS4/Vita conectivity interests me though, for obvious reasons. I'm not fond of PC gaming to be honest. It seems like a lot of hassle having to install the games. I know you have to install some PS3 games, but that essentially just involves sitting there. A friend of mine games on a PC and has quite often found the game won't run so he has to update his software. I'd rather just the game in my console, sit down and play. As I said, less hassle.

Installing is literally putting in a disk, clicking next four times, and waiting. Unless you have Steam, in which case it's just clicking a button. Hardware problems only show up with certain operating systems like old windows versions, or with poorly supported games, usually indie. |

In my case, it's clicking a button and waiting all day to play stuff due to my slow download speed. |

Ah, yeah, there's that. Not really a problem for me. |

My opinion, warning is kinda rambly. I like PC and handhelds. I am getting a new PC in a few weeks that will, if all goes well and no parts mysteriously break in half (Has happened before more often then I would like to remember) I will be fully caught up to play modern pc games at more than decent graphics. With this I need to ask, why do I need a console? The answer is I mostly don't, aside from exclusives maybe. I do, however, find handhelds incompletely worth it because they give me things a PC cannot. I can play Persona 4 on a vita, on my toilet. Its like my dreams as a child growing up and playing persona 4 come true. But yes. Also, the price thing I think comes back down when you think of things like steam sales, or FTP games, which consoles have about 100% less of. You don't see things on console being 90% off.to conclude my thoughts. I like playing games, and PC lets me play the best of them. The ones they don't (Persona 4 golden) handhelds let me play. Also, I am still very likely to buy a PS4 for the exclusives, |

When I say that I mean the infamous and Killzones and other games in series I have a history with. I however will 99% chance not buy an Xbox One. I might buy a controller for use on PC, as the controller looks dope. The kinect just scares me, and I would have little use for the special tv and sports things. |
