Fantasy DBZ League

Some of you may remember that at the end of the season four bowl stream Squee came up with the idea of having a fantasy league similar to how things work in real life sports. As he is obviously too busy running things to have time to do this himself, Ive come up with my own idea for it and this post is to gauge interest in it to see if anyone would like to take part.

The idea is to pick your own team of any five characters (to deal with rotations) and have them compete for you, scoring points based on how well (or badly) they do in their matches. Each of the 80 characters would have a value in zeni, and youd have a set amount to spend on making your team.

Any questions or takers?

This sounds very cool. And just what I needed since I'm doing so terrible in my NFL league. I'd participate.

I see, but would this involve going through all of last season to check how well each player did? Or would the prices be subjective to begin with? Also, would there be transfer windows or would you be able to get new players whenever you wanted?
Season 4 is still fairly fresh in the mind so I dont think going back through the whole season will be necessary, but given that theres no previous stats then the values will naturally be somewhat subjective. If I get enough interest for this, and it looks like there will be, then Ill enlist one or two others to look over the values Ive come up with for a little extra perspective.
There will definitely be at least one transfer window, it would be unfair to be expected to keep under performing players.

To be perfectly honest, I think you guys should wait one season for this. The foundation of this fantasy league can only be pulled off if the counting staff proves to be efficient enough to provide all stats within the time of one week consistently throughout the season.

I really don't think this is a thing that should be rushed. We're almost nearing the beginning of the season and this idea is still in a very early phase. Personally, I think it would be a lot better if you guys had a plan (not like a 5000 page word document, but at least 2 pages), that describes exactly how this fantasy league would run. If you can make that in 2 weeks, then hats off to you, but if you can't, then I'd advice you to take some time throughout the season and make the best Fantasy League you can make next season.

Just my opinion of course, if you guys think you can really do all this in the short amount of time then best of luck to you. I'm really looking forward to see how this evolves. :)

I have to agree with Huzzahfortimelines here(I don't know nicknames), while I am excited to get this started and all, I think it would be best to wait another season and just keep discussing how this'll run over the course of this season, share ideas, see how things develop, all that. We have plenty of time.

I understand what youre saying there Huzzah, but I have thought about this and I do have things thoroughly planned out, the only help I need before things start is a little perspective.
The stats that are being counted are useful, but arent what Ill be using for scoring. Also, Ive been using the pre-season to balance out out the scoring works so its fair whether the characters are on the winning team or not.
I plan to describe exactly how things will work assuming theres enough interest in the idea to warrant the investment Ill be making to record the stats.

Squee was saying something about not being able to choose characters from our own teams. Are you going to do the same thing?

I was planning on keeping that rule, yes. While it is extremely unlikely that anyone would try to influence their team just for fantasy points, it seems like that would be the fairest way to do things

That sounds fair enough. Think we should have it be a 'up to 2 from hte same team' rule, too? Or would just one from a team be fine?
