While the Array's come in several different models, each have several upgrades over older sensor arrays. Even the heavy transport array is more sensitive than most older model arrays. The Shadimyl-class scout ship is meant as a longer range ship than the Shard-class, though designed to work in conjunction with those ships. The Sensor array has been expanded, taking up the entire front Meter of the ship. * Darkstar Comm Array - The Darkstar Comm Array is named after one of Gabriel Sumigato's close friends, a Jedi whom at the time of the design of the Comm Array was presumed dead. It utilizes a Combination of Laser and Subspace Communication arrays and an advanced encryption module. It transmits packets of information on multiple lines of communication and frequencies, so that anyone listening into one frequency, or even ten, will get only a partial transmission. Each Darkstar Comm Array is able to receive all of these packets and reorder them into the correct message in under a nanosecond. * Shard-class Docking Port(2) - On the port and starboard fins there are each a single cut-away docking port for a Shard-class vessel. This allows the Shadimyl to carry a Shard into hyperspace. The Shadimyl-class medium range scoutship is designed for medium range recon in system away from the main fleet. Only slightly heavier than a Shard, it does not boast the maneuverability or speed that comes with the Quicksilver Gravitic engines. It does however have an expanded Comm and sensor suite. This allows it to coordinate with two other Shard-class vessels and then relay this information on secure lines back to the fleet. And of course it still has a similar maneuvering fin and jet configuration, making it one of the more maneuverable vessels out there. The Shadimyl has only a x24 times Hyperdrive. This does not allow it to make long distance jumps from system to system very comfortably. But traveling at 4,166,666.6666667 times the speed of light this allows it to jump from place to place in system. They only have a rudimentary Nav Computer and can only Hyperspace ten times before needing to return to their main ship to have more points reprogrammed. They can not simply hit hyperspace from anywhere, they need to make it to one of those ten programmed points. |
