“Our move into live-action will enable DWA to further capitalize on the evolving television landscape by creating new opportunities on both traditional and emerging platforms for our branded series,” said Ann Daly, President of DreamWorks Animation. “Moreover, live action will give us yet another creative lens with which to explore our library of rich storytelling and memorable characters that have resonated with audiences for the past two decades.”

I guess a live-action HTTYD spin-off isn't far off.

This isn't the first time Dreamworks has done live action though, is it?

I think they partnered with Paramount for the last "War of the Worlds" iteration, and did a few other live-action movies (which didn't do nearly as well, if I recall).

Still, it does give you that weird vibe that they're trying new formats with things that just don't make as much sense when it's not animated...like when Carton Network tried that "live action" pilot of Ben10. Maybe if they do original series that haven't been animated before, it won't be as bad though...?

You might be thinking of the parent company of DreamWorks, which DWA was spun off from. They are separate entities.

As far as I know DWA has never done live action.

Well I for one think that would be a great idea. :)

Be nice to revisit some of the earlier days with a different spin.

Oh, and when its live-action we can cross it over with Once Upon A Time :lol:a Yay.

Do you mean the arena spectacular? That's terrible. (I loved going, but it was SO bad.) If you didn't mean the arena spectacular, TELL ME ABOUT ON-ICE.
No one has ever killed a Night Fury - that's why I'm going to be the first.

Sorry, yeah, that's what I meant. :confused:a *embarrassed*

...Though, thinking back on it, an on-ice show probably wouldn't be all that different than the arena spectacular....

Dear Thor, not only do cruise lines have ice-skating rinks, but they have HTTYD ice-rink shows?! Starring "Prune Hilda"?!

...I wonder if Disney cruise lines does Disney-on-ice?
